The blue lotus pattern sits on a super-vitrified porcelain body, giving the range a distinctive table presence without relying on heavy decoration that might date quickly or clash with varied cuisine styles.

Super-vitrified construction means the clay body is fired to a density that resists moisture absorption — a practical consideration in a busy operation where plates cycle through service, washing, and stacking repeatedly throughout the day. The underglaze print is sealed beneath the glaze surface rather than applied on top, which helps it withstand the abrasion of commercial dishwashing over extended periods. Churchill backs the range with a five-year edge chip guarantee, which is a reasonable indicator of how the ware is expected to perform in commercial use.

From an operational standpoint, these plates offer a few practical qualities worth noting:

Microwave safe, allowing brief heat retention passes without needing to transfer food

Dishwasher safe and suited to high-temperature commercial wash cycles

Underglaze print resists fading and surface wear from repeated washing

Super-vitrified body retains heat reasonably well during plating and pass

Supplied in a pack of 12, practical for building or topping up covers

As a 228mm plate, this size works well as a starter, dessert, or side plate, and sits comfortably within a broader table setting. It is worth considering how the metallic blue finish coordinates with your existing crockery if you are mixing pieces across a service — the pattern is bold and works best where it has room to make an impression rather than compete with heavily decorated accompaniments.

This plate is well suited to restaurants, hotels, and catering operations looking to add a degree of visual identity to their table settings without sacrificing the durability expected from commercial tableware. If you are equipping a high-turnover operation or need guidance on building a complete cover, the team are happy to help you think through quantities and coordination across the range.

https://www.advantage-catering-equipment.co.uk/products/churchill-studio-prints-astro-metallic-blue-lotus-plates-228mm-12-pack
