Despite its craft-inspired, hand-finished appearance, the body is constructed from alumina vitrified ceramic, a material chosen for commercial durability rather than domestic aesthetics. Each mug carries a textured reactive glaze on the edges, giving a naturally uneven finish that suits informal dining and contemporary café environments equally well.

In a busy service setting, the alumina vitrified construction matters. It is denser and harder than standard vitrified china, giving greater resistance to thermal shock and chipping when mugs move between dishwasher cycles and counter service throughout the day. The glaze is applied consistently across the range, so replacement pieces integrate without noticeable variation. The reactive glaze naturally varies in texture and tone from piece to piece, which is an intentional characteristic of the range rather than a defect.

Alumina vitrified ceramic body for improved chip and thermal shock resistance

Hand-finished with a textured reactive edge glaze for a craft appearance

Choice of Mustard or Wheat colourways for informal dining and café table settings

285ml capacity appropriate for standard hot beverage service

Lifetime edge chip warranty from Steelite

Supplied in a pack of 24

These mugs are dishwasher safe and suited to the repeated wash cycles typical of commercial operations. As with any coloured glazeware, operators should confirm that their dishwasher chemicals are appropriate for coloured finishes to avoid glaze degradation over time.

The Terramesa range is well suited to independent cafés, gastro pubs, boutique hotels and casual dining restaurants looking to move away from plain white tableware. It is not a fine dining or bone china range: the aesthetic is deliberately rustic and tactile, which may not suit more formal table presentations. It sits within a coordinated range, so mugs can be matched with plates, bowls and other pieces. If you are specifying tableware across a larger cover count, the team is happy to help.

https://www.advantage-catering-equipment.co.uk/products/steelite-terramesa-quench-mugs-285ml-pack-of-24
