Lincat CG6 Gas Chargrill

Product No: CG6

Product Description

The Lincat CG6 is a freestanding gas chargrill designed for commercial kitchen service. It uses heat-transfer radiants rather than lava rock to produce the intense, direct heat needed for chargrilling — removing the maintenance and mess that lava rock systems tend to bring with them. The cooking grid sits above the radiants and can be adjusted in height, giving the operator control over cooking intensity and the degree of char on different food types.

In a working kitchen the CG6 performs well across a broad range of menu items — steaks, chicken portions, fish, vegetables and pressed burgers all benefit from the direct radiant heat and the characteristic branding marks the cooking grid produces. Twin heat zones allow different proteins or items requiring different temperatures to be handled simultaneously, which is genuinely useful during busy covers when the grill needs to work across multiple orders at once. The cooking grids retain heat effectively, helping to maintain consistent branded marks even when the grill is loaded.

From an operational standpoint, the main practical benefits are:

  • Clean, defined grill marks that improve plate presentation without additional effort
  • Twin zones allow different heat settings across the cooking surface
  • Radiant system avoids the ongoing cost and mess of lava rock replacement
  • Adjustable grid height gives control over searing intensity
  • Gas operation provides responsive heat adjustment during service

Installation requires a suitable gas supply and connection by a Gas Safe registered engineer. The unit will also need to sit beneath an appropriate extraction canopy — chargrilling produces a significant volume of smoke and grease-laden vapour that a standard ventilation system may not handle adequately. Allow sufficient clearance around the unit for safe operation and cleaning access. The underside and radiant assembly will require regular cleaning to prevent grease build-up.

The CG6 is a practical choice for restaurant kitchens, pub dining operations and hotels where chargrilling features regularly on the menu and service volumes are moderate to high. It is a single-unit standalone grill rather than a modular suite piece, which suits kitchens where chargrill output is one part of a broader cooking battery. For very high-volume operations running chargrills continuously across long service periods, a heavier-duty or wider-format unit may be worth considering.

If you are weighing up whether this model suits your service volumes and kitchen layout, our team is happy to talk through the options before you commit.
