The Designline self-service cold well is a drop-in refrigerated display unit designed to sit flush within a countertop, presenting chilled food or drink at point of service. The elliptical profile superstructure is built from polished stainless steel and aluminium with curved toughened glass on the customer-facing side, combining a clean presentation finish with a practical sneeze screen. Diffused lighting runs through the gantry to illuminate the display, and a digital temperature readout sits at eye level on the operator side alongside a lockable control panel — a useful feature where temperature consistency needs to be protected from accidental adjustment during service.

The unit uses R290 hydrocarbon refrigerant, which carries a lower global warming potential than many conventional alternatives and tends to reduce running costs over time. The refrigeration condensing unit is underslung, with ventilation handled by the air grilles supplied with the unit — so no separate remote refrigeration plant is required. The system is rated for 24-hour operation, which suits display counters that remain live outside core service periods.

From a day-to-day operational standpoint, the unit offers several practical advantages:

The plug-and-play electrical connection keeps on-site requirements straightforward, though the counter structure will need to be capable of supporting the loaded weight.

This unit is well suited to cafeterias, staff restaurants, retail food counters, and hospitality buffet setups where chilled self-service food needs to be presented attractively and held safely through service. It is a practical choice for medium-volume service points. For higher-throughput or larger counter configurations, it is worth considering whether a wider or higher-capacity model would better match demand. GN containers are sold separately.
