The Cambro Camshelving Basics starter unit is a four-tier open shelving system built from composite materials throughout — posts, traverses, and shelf plates are all non-metallic construction. As a starter unit, it includes everything required to stand independently, and additional units can be added and linked using shared posts to extend the run without compromising load capacity.

In practice, this type of shelving performs well in demanding storage environments where standard steel shelving tends to corrode or deteriorate. The composite construction is impervious to moisture, food acids, cleaning chemicals, salt, and humidity, which makes it a practical long-term choice for any area subject to regular wash-downs or temperature fluctuation. The shelf positions adjust every 100mm, which gives useful flexibility when storage requirements change across service periods or seasons. Levelling feet allow adjustment on uneven floors, which is a common requirement in older kitchen and cold room installations.
