Product Description
This is an add-on unit for the Cambro Camshelving Basics Plus range — designed to extend an existing stationary Camshelving Basics Plus unit rather than stand independently. It ships with one post kit, eight traverses, and the shelf plates needed to connect to an adjoining unit. The result is a four-tier, vented shelving bay that integrates cleanly into a straight-line run, or can be configured into an L-shape or T-shape layout to make better use of irregular or corner storage areas.
The vented shelf design allows air to circulate freely, which is particularly useful in refrigerated and frozen storage environments where airflow around product affects temperature consistency. The polymer construction is lightweight relative to equivalent steel shelving, which matters in practice when reconfiguring storage layouts between services or during a deep clean.
From an operational standpoint, Camshelving Basics Plus holds up well in the conditions that damage lesser shelving — high humidity, frequent washdowns, and temperature cycling between ambient and frozen environments. The polymer is resistant to rust and corrosion, and the shelf plates are removable and dishwasher-safe, which simplifies the kind of thorough cleaning that food safety standards require.
- Shelves adjust without tools, allowing quick reconfiguration as stock volumes change
- Vented design supports airflow in refrigerated and ambient dry storage
- Rust and corrosion resistant — suitable for wet, humid, or frozen environments
- Shelf plates remove and go through a commercial dishwasher
- Connects to existing Camshelving Basics Plus stationary units without reducing weight-bearing capacity
This unit is well suited to kitchens that already run Camshelving Basics Plus stationary bays and need to increase their storage footprint. It is not a standalone unit and will not connect to other Cambro shelving ranges. For sites needing a complete new installation, stationary units are the starting point, with add-ons used to build out from there.
If you are planning a storage layout and want to work out the right combination of stationary and add-on units for your space, our team is happy to talk it through before you order.

Frequently Asked Questions
- This unit is designed to connect exclusively to Cambro Camshelving Basics Plus stationary units. It is not compatible with other Cambro shelving ranges or third-party shelving systems. If you are unsure which stationary units you currently have, it is worth checking the model markings on the posts before ordering.
- Yes — the polymer construction is designed to withstand the temperature cycling and humidity conditions found in refrigerated and frozen storage environments. The vented shelf design also supports airflow, which helps maintain consistent temperatures around stored product.
- Cambro does not publish a fixed limit on the number of add-on units per run, but practical considerations around floor space, structural support, and access will dictate what is sensible for your site. If you are planning a larger installation, it is worth speaking with us to make sure the layout works efficiently for your storage volume and kitchen footprint.
