The safe operates via a backlit silicone keypad with a clear LED display, which allows guests to set and manage their own 3–6 digit access code without difficulty, including in low-light conditions. A separate 6-digit master code gives housekeeping or management override access when required. If an incorrect code is entered four or more times in succession, the unit locks out for five minutes — a straightforward and effective deterrent against casual tampering. A mechanical override key is also included as a backup.
