Product Description
The Buffalo Slimline Food Warming Tray is a countertop warming unit designed to hold food at safe serving temperatures during buffet service or assisted service. Built from aluminium with a slim profile, it accepts a full GN 2/1 configuration, which means it can take a single large gastronorm tray or a combination of smaller inserts — two GN 1/1 trays or up to six GN 1/3 trays — giving operators flexibility over how food is presented and portioned. Gastronorm trays are sold separately.
In a service environment, the unit performs a straightforward but important role: keeping prepared food at a consistent holding temperature without requiring continuous kitchen attendance. Simple digital controls allow temperature to be set and locked, which is useful where the unit is operated by front-of-house staff who need a stable, reliable setting rather than constant adjustment. Rubberised feet keep the unit secure on a buffet counter or service table during use.
Practically, this unit suits operations where controlled holding and a clean presentation are both priorities:
- Digital controls with temperature lock for consistent front-of-house operation
- Accepts GN 2/1, 2x GN 1/1, or up to 6x GN 1/3 configurations
- Slim aluminium construction keeps counter footprint modest
- Rubberised feet prevent movement during service
- Straightforward to wipe down between service periods
The unit runs from a standard mains socket. There are no water, gas, or ventilation requirements, which makes placement flexible — it can be positioned on any suitable counter surface with access to a nearby socket. At 6.65kg it is light enough to be repositioned between services if needed. It is not designed for prolonged high-volume cooking or as a substitute for a proper bain marie or hot cupboard where sustained deep holding capacity is required.
This warming tray is well suited to smaller hotels, office canteens, function rooms, care homes, and similar settings where a buffet or self-service line runs for a defined service period. For operations running larger or continuous service lines where multiple GN configurations need to be held simultaneously, a higher-capacity or multi-section warming solution may be worth considering.
If you are unsure whether this unit matches your service volume or counter layout, the team is happy to help you think it through before you order.

Frequently Asked Questions
- The unit is designed for defined service periods rather than continuous all-day holding. It performs reliably across a standard buffet or meal service window, but for operations running extended or back-to-back services without breaks, a bain marie or hot cupboard with deeper holding capacity would generally be more appropriate.
- No specialist installation is required. The unit runs from a standard mains socket and has no water, gas, or ventilation connections. You simply need a suitable counter surface and a nearby socket — it can be set up and repositioned without any fixed installation work.
- Yes. The unit accepts a full GN 2/1 tray, two GN 1/1 trays side by side, or up to six GN 1/3 trays, so you can mix configurations to suit your menu. Gastronorm trays are not included with the unit and need to be sourced separately.
