Blue Seal EP518-LS 1200mm Electric Griddle on Stand

Product No: EP518-LS

Product Description

The Blue Seal EP518-LS is a large-format electric griddle designed for continuous, high-volume cooking in professional kitchens. It features a 20mm thick machined steel plate that distributes heat evenly across the full cooking surface, with nine stainless steel sheathed elements providing thermostatically controlled heat from a cold start through to sustained service. The unit is supplied on an open stand with fixed legs to the front and castors to the rear, making repositioning straightforward whilst keeping the unit stable during use.

A griddle of this size is typically found in high-throughput environments — hotel kitchens, large restaurants, central production units, or venues running extended breakfast and brunch services. The machined steel plate holds temperature well under load, and the thermostat allows different zones to be used at different intensities simultaneously, which is useful when cooking items with varying heat requirements side by side. The safety cut-out provides an additional layer of protection during prolonged service periods.

From an operational standpoint, the EP518-LS offers several practical advantages:

  • Large cooking surface supports high-volume throughput without batching delays
  • Machined steel plate gives consistent, even heat distribution across the full width
  • Thermostatically controlled zones allow flexible cooking across the surface
  • Enamelled control panel wipes clean quickly between services
  • Modular design allows it to sit alongside other Blue Seal equipment in a coordinated line

This is a free-standing electric unit, so it requires a suitable three-phase electrical supply and adequate circuit protection — it is not suitable for standard single-phase domestic-style connections. The unit's footprint and weight mean access routes and floor loading should be considered at the planning stage. Ventilation above the cooking surface should meet your local extraction requirements; a canopy or extraction hood will almost certainly be needed.

The EP518-LS is well suited to kitchens with consistent, high-volume griddle demand. For smaller operations or sites with limited electrical capacity, a shorter single-phase model in the same range may be more appropriate. For very high-volume or multi-station production kitchens, it is worth discussing whether a wider or more heavily specified unit would serve better in the long run.

If you'd like to talk through whether the EP518-LS is the right fit for your kitchen layout and service volume, our team is happy to help.
