Product Description
These EAIS Gastronorm 1/1 trolleys provide a straightforward, robust solution for storing and transporting full-size gastronorm trays within a commercial kitchen environment. Available in two configurations — full height with a choice of 10, 15, or 20 tiers, and a lower-level version with 7 tiers and a solid worktop — they are designed to suit different workflow and space requirements across a range of operations.
In a working kitchen, trolleys like these take considerable punishment. The fully welded stainless steel construction handles the daily demands of loading, unloading, and movement across kitchen floors without the flex or instability that can affect lighter-built alternatives. The 125mm castors with bumpers make them practical to manoeuvre in tighter spaces and help protect walls, counters, and other equipment during busy service.
Key operational features worth noting:
- Retaining edges front and rear on each tray slide prevent trays shifting during movement
- Low level model includes a solid worktop, useful as a pass-through or preparation surface
- Fully welded construction eliminates loosening joints over time
- 125mm castors with bumpers suit movement through service corridors and back-of-house areas
- Multiple tier configurations allow matching to specific tray volumes or kitchen footprint
Being mobile units, no fixed installation is required, though it is worth considering floor surface and drainage channel positioning when deciding where these trolleys will operate day-to-day. The full height models are well suited to kitchens with adequate ceiling clearance and where bulk tray storage is needed; the low level version works well in areas where access to trays at a lower height is preferable, or where a combined storage and work surface is useful.
These trolleys are commonly used in central production kitchens, hospital catering, education catering, and banqueting operations where a consistent supply of gastronorm trays needs to be organised and moved efficiently. For very high-volume sites with exceptional throughput demands, a heavier-duty or higher-capacity unit may be worth considering.
If you are unsure which configuration suits your particular kitchen layout or service volumes, the team is happy to talk it through with you.

Frequently Asked Questions
- It largely depends on your storage volume and how staff will access trays. Full height trolleys maximise vertical storage and suit operations that move large numbers of trays between areas, such as banqueting or central production kitchens. The low level version is better where staff need to reach trays without stretching, or where the integrated worktop adds practical value in a compact area.
- The stainless steel construction is well suited to environments with temperature variation and moisture, including refrigerated storage. However, you should confirm that the castors and overall dimensions are compatible with any refrigerated room floor and door clearances before ordering.
- The right number of tiers depends on how many GN 1/1 trays you need to store or transport at one time. A 10-tier model works for smaller operations with moderate tray turnover, while a 20-tier model suits high-volume kitchens where large batches of prepared trays are held ahead of service. If you are unsure what you need, it is worth discussing your typical service volumes with us before ordering.
