Product Description
The Designline 900mm Drop-In Slimline Multideck is a refrigerated patisserie and chilled food display unit designed to sit within a cut-out in a servery counter run, or to stand freely as a grab-and-go merchandiser. It uses an elliptical curved profile in polished stainless steel and aluminium, with toughened glass shelving and an open front to allow customers direct access to product. A hinged double-glazed rear door provides operator access for restocking without disturbing service from the customer side.
In a working environment the unit holds product consistently within its chilled temperature band around the clock, which matters for sites that need to maintain food safety compliance across long service periods — cafés, hospital catering, staff restaurants, deli counters and similar settings. The three toughened glass display shelves are adjustable in both height and angle, giving operators practical flexibility when merchandising products of varying heights. The cold deck at the base adds usable display area beyond the shelves, which is useful during busy periods when stock replenishment needs to be as efficient as possible. An integral condensate evaporator removes the need for a site drainage connection, which simplifies installation.
- Three adjustable toughened glass shelves with shelf-edge lighting and ticket strips for clear product presentation
- Cold deck below the shelves provides additional chilled merchandising space
- Hinged double-glazed rear door allows restocking without interrupting customer access
- R290 hydrocarbon refrigerant reduces environmental impact and running costs relative to older refrigerants
- Removable deck plates and integral condensate evaporator simplify cleaning and reduce drainage requirements
Installation requires a 13A single-phase supply via the included 2m lead and plug. When used as a drop-in, the fascia panel will need ventilation apertures to allow airflow to the underslung condensing unit — this is a firm installation requirement and should be factored into counter design before ordering. The unit ships with locking castors and an adjustable levelling foot, which assists with alignment in counter installations. At 190kg the unit requires appropriate handling on delivery and positioning. Noise output is worth considering in quieter front-of-house environments.
This unit is well suited to cafés, hotel buffet areas, hospital retail outlets, workplace restaurants and deli-style counters where refrigerated product needs to be visible and accessible throughout the day. It is a practical fit for medium-volume sites. Operations with significantly higher throughput or larger display requirements may find a wider or higher-capacity unit a better match for their needs.
If you are planning a servery counter build-out or are unsure whether this unit fits your layout, our team is happy to talk through the installation requirements with you beforehand.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Yes — the unit is designed for both applications. As a freestanding grab-and-go display, an optional front fascia panel can be fitted. When installed as a drop-in, the fascia panel must include ventilation apertures to allow adequate airflow to the underslung condensing unit, so this needs to be accounted for in the counter design before the unit is fitted.
- The unit runs from a standard 13A single-phase supply and comes with a 2m lead and UK plug fitted, so no specialist electrical work is required in most cases. There is no drainage connection needed, as the integral condensate evaporator handles water internally — a practical advantage in counters where running a drain would be difficult.
- It performs reliably in medium-volume settings with continuous 24-hour operation. For sites with substantially higher footfall, heavier restocking demands, or a need for a wider merchandising footprint, it would be worth speaking with us about whether a larger-capacity model would be a better long-term fit.
