Polar U-Series Double Drawer Dual Temperature Counter Fridge Freezer 4xGN

Product No: DA996

Product Description

The Polar U-Series Double Drawer Counter is a dual-temperature under-counter refrigeration unit with two independently controlled drawers, each capable of operating as either a fridge or a freezer. Built in stainless steel and rated to climate class 5, it is designed to maintain stable temperatures in demanding kitchen environments, including hot kitchens where ambient temperatures can reach 43°C.

The unit uses forced-air cooling across both drawers, which helps to maintain consistent temperatures even during periods of frequent access — a common requirement at a busy prep station or pass. Each drawer accepts two full-size 1/1 GN pans, giving you four pan positions in total. The ability to set each drawer independently means you can run both as fridges, both as freezers, or one of each, depending on what service demands on any given day. That flexibility makes it particularly useful in kitchens where storage needs shift between service periods or menu changes.

From an operational standpoint, the key advantages are:

  • Independent temperature control on each drawer, adaptable to changing prep requirements
  • Full GN compatibility across all four pan positions, simplifying ingredient organisation
  • Forced-air cooling for reliable temperature recovery after frequent door openings
  • Castors fitted as standard, making repositioning and deep cleaning straightforward
  • Stainless steel construction throughout, practical for busy kitchen hygiene routines

At 905mm wide and 113kg, this unit is designed to sit beneath a standard counter run. It uses R290 refrigerant. No specialist drainage connection is required under normal operation, though you should confirm the electrical supply is suitable before installation. Castors give reasonable manoeuvrability, but given the weight, positioning should be planned carefully — particularly if the unit needs to be moved through narrow doorways or over thresholds during installation.

This unit is well suited to small-to-medium kitchens where a single counter position needs to cover both chilled and frozen ingredient storage, and where GN compatibility with cookline equipment is important. Restaurants, café kitchens, and pub kitchens with moderate prep volumes are typical applications. For higher-volume sites with greater drawer access frequency or larger GN storage requirements, a heavier-duty multi-drawer model may be worth considering.

If you are unsure whether this unit fits your counter run or service pattern, our team are happy to talk it through before you commit to anything.
