Scotsman AF127 Self-Contained Ice Flaker (122kg/24hr)

Product No: AF127

Product Description

The Scotsman AF127 is a self-contained flake ice machine designed for commercial use across a range of applications. Flake ice is soft, pliable, and mouldable, making it well suited to chilled food display, fish and seafood presentation, blended drinks, and certain food production or medical environments where product contact or rapid chilling is a priority. With a production capacity of up to 122kg per 24 hours and an integrated storage bin, the machine generates and holds a usable reserve of ice without requiring a separate storage unit.

In busy service environments, flake ice machines are valued for their ability to keep pace with continuous demand. Flake ice forms quickly and the soft, irregular shape means it packs tightly around produce or fills a glass efficiently. The AF127 is well sized for mid- to high-volume sites — busy bars, fishmongers, food production operations, or catering kitchens where ice is used throughout the day rather than in short bursts. The built-in storage buffer helps maintain supply during peak periods without the machine needing to run flat-out continuously.

Practically, this unit offers a number of features that reduce daily management demands:

  • Integrated Xsafe UV system actively inhibits bacteria, viruses, mould, and slime build-up within the machine
  • Filter-free air-cooled condenser eliminates the need for regular filter cleaning
  • Front-access design allows servicing and maintenance without pulling the unit out
  • Front-in, front-out airflow supports built-in or counter-recessed installation
  • Electronic self-diagnostics with external alarm indicators flag issues early

Installation is relatively straightforward — the unit requires a mains water connection and a drain. The air-cooled condenser means no water-cooled connections are needed, but adequate ambient ventilation around the unit is important for consistent performance. In hard water areas, a water filtration system is strongly recommended; scale build-up will affect ice quality and output over time, and failure to fit appropriate filtration may affect warranty coverage. The pressure-based water monitoring system is also compatible with demineralised water supplies where that is relevant to your setup.

The AF127 is a practical choice for operators who need reliable, continuous flake ice output at mid-to-high volume — food service counters, bar operations, fishmongers, and production kitchens are typical installations. For lighter-demand sites where ice is used intermittently, a lower-capacity self-contained unit may offer better energy economy. For very high-volume operations or large-scale food display, a higher-output modular configuration may be worth considering.

If you are unsure whether flake ice is the right type for your application, or have questions about installation requirements for your site, we are happy to talk it through before you commit to an order.
