These flat lids are designed to fit Vegware's 90-Series hot food pots in both 170ml (6oz) and 230ml (8oz) sizes. Made from CPLA — a heat-tolerant bioplastic derived from cornstarch — they are suitable for use with hot contents such as soup, porridge, and pasta, where a standard cold-drink lid would distort or fail under temperature.

In a takeaway or grab-and-go setting, a reliable lid fit matters more than it might seem. A lid that seals poorly creates spillage risk in transit and reflects poorly on the outlet. These lids are produced to consistent tolerances for the 90-Series pot, so fit is predictable across a full service period without needing to trial and adjust.

These lids are compostable through industrial composting routes, which is worth confirming with your local waste contractor before making a commitment. Home compostable they are not — CPLA requires the higher temperatures of a commercial composting facility to break down correctly. If your site is working towards a closed-loop waste system, it is worth ensuring the whole packaging format, pot and lid together, goes through the same waste stream.

Well suited to cafés, canteens, hospital catering, and any operation running a hot soup or porridge offer as part of a takeaway or grab-and-go format.
