Mechline BioCeptor FOG Drain Management System

Product No: FS047

Product Description

The Mechline BioCeptor is a biological drain management system designed to intercept, retain and treat fats, oils and grease (FOG) before they enter the drainage network. It combines a physical FOG intercept and treatment unit with Mechline's GreasePak biological dosing solution, which introduces active bacterial cultures into the drain to break down grease at source. The result is an on-site treatment approach rather than simply trapping FOG for manual removal.

In a working commercial kitchen, grease accumulation in drainage systems is a persistent operational problem. Blockages disrupt service, attract regulatory attention and, in many local authority areas, leave operators liable for remediation costs downstream. The BioCeptor is designed to address this at the point of use rather than relying entirely on periodic external emptying or chemical dosing alone. The biological treatment element works continuously, helping to keep the unit and downstream pipework clear between service intervals.

Key practical advantages for kitchen operators include:

  • Continuous biological treatment reduces grease build-up in drainage lines
  • Supports compliance with local authority FOG management requirements
  • Compact polyethylene construction is lightweight and resistant to corrosion
  • Designed to work alongside existing drainage infrastructure without major modification
  • Reduces the frequency and cost of emergency drain clearance call-outs

Installation requires consideration of where within the drainage run the unit is positioned — it should be located as close as practical to the primary grease-producing equipment such as fryers, woks or griddles. The polyethylene body keeps overall weight manageable at 7.5kg, which aids positioning and maintenance access. It is suited to kitchens where a full grease trap or grease separator is not feasible due to space or access constraints, though for very high-volume operations producing significant FOG loads, a larger-capacity solution may be more appropriate.

The BioCeptor is well suited to small and medium-sized catering operations — cafés, restaurants, pub kitchens, and similar establishments — where FOG management is required but space or budget makes a full interceptor impractical. Sites with particularly heavy frying volumes or multiple cooking lines may benefit from discussing higher-capacity options before committing.

If you're unsure whether the BioCeptor is the right fit for your drainage setup or service volume, our team is happy to talk it through with you before you order.
