It works by passing incoming hard water through a resin bed, which exchanges calcium and magnesium ions for sodium, delivering softened water to the machine without requiring any electrical connection.

Hard water is one of the most common causes of premature wear in warewashing equipment. Scale accumulates on heating elements, spray arms, and internal pipework, gradually reducing wash performance and shortening machine life. In medium-to-hard water areas, the effects can be significant even over a relatively short period. Fitting a softener on the incoming cold water supply is a straightforward and cost-effective way to protect the machine and keep wash results consistent.
