Product Description
The Sola Lima side plate knife is part of Churchill's Lima cutlery range, designed for commercial table settings where a distinctive finish is as important as durability. The hammered-effect handle gives each piece a tactile, textured appearance that catches the light and adds character to a laid cover without requiring elaborate table dressing around it.
Made from stainless steel, these knives are built to withstand the demands of regular commercial use — repeated dishwasher cycles, handling by front-of-house staff, and the general wear of busy service. The finish holds up well in day-to-day operation, and the side plate format suits bread covers, amuse-bouche, or any course where a compact knife is more appropriate than a full table knife.
Practical considerations for operators:
- Dishwasher safe — suitable for commercial glasswashers and dishwashers
- Sold in packs of 12, making it straightforward to order in multiples for full covers
- Hammered finish conceals minor surface marks better than a high-polish alternative
- Consistent sizing across the Lima range supports mixed-piece ordering
The Lima range suits restaurants, boutique hotels, and event caterers looking for cutlery with a handcrafted aesthetic that doesn't require specialist care. It fits well alongside textured crockery and natural table materials. If you're building a full cover from the Lima collection or want to confirm pack quantities against your cover count, the team is happy to help you work through the numbers.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Each pack contains 12 knives, so four packs gives you 48 pieces — enough for a 40-cover service with a small buffer for breakage or loss. If you run two sittings back to back without a full wash cycle in between, it's worth holding additional stock to maintain clean cover availability throughout service.
- Yes, the Lima side plate knife is dishwasher safe and designed to handle regular commercial machine cycles. As with all stainless steel cutlery, prompt removal and drying after the cycle helps maintain the finish over time.
- The Lima collection covers multiple cutlery types, so it is possible to build a coordinated full cover within the same range. If you're specifying cutlery across several courses and want to confirm which pieces are available, it's worth speaking to the team before placing a full order.
