The Churchill Lyra Pink oblong platter is a vitrified china serving piece designed for commercial table service. The Lyra pattern features a starburst motif with clean linear detailing, giving the range a distinctive look that works well as a presentation plate for starters, sharing dishes, or plated mains where an oblong format suits the dish.
Churchill's Super Vitrified construction gives these platters good resistance to thermal shock, chipping, and everyday handling in a busy service environment. The ecoglaze finish helps resist staining and metal marking from cutlery, which matters in high-turnover operations where tableware is in constant use and rotation through the dishwasher.
From a practical standpoint, this range offers several qualities that suit regular commercial use:
- Microwave safe, supporting flexible plating and regeneration workflows
- Dishwasher safe, with a glaze that holds up to repeated commercial wash cycles
- Resistant to metal marking, reducing visible wear over time
- BS4034 certified, meeting the standard expected for commercial catering tableware
- Supplied in a pack of six, practical for batch purchasing and stock rotation
These platters are well suited to restaurants, hotel dining, and event catering operations looking for a coordinated, pattern-led tableware range with reliable durability. The oblong format is particularly useful for sharing plates or structured plating where a round dish would not present as well. For high-volume operations handling hundreds of covers per service, it is worth considering whether a larger batch quantity better suits your stock requirements.
If you are building a tableware set across a range of shapes and sizes, or are unsure how this piece fits within the wider Lyra collection, we are happy to help you work through the options.
Frequently asked questions
Are these platters suitable for high-turnover restaurant service?
Yes. The Super Vitrified construction and ecoglaze finish are designed to hold up under the repeated handling, stacking, and dishwasher cycles typical of busy commercial service. That said, as with any vitrified china, careful handling during clearing and storage will extend the working life of the range.
Can these platters go through a commercial glasswasher or dishwasher?
They are rated dishwasher safe and are built for regular commercial wash cycles. The ecoglaze finish is intended to resist the staining and dullness that can develop with frequent washing, though using the correct detergent dosage for your machine type will help maintain appearance over time.
Is the Lyra pattern available in other shapes to build a coordinated table setting?
The Lyra range from Churchill includes a variety of shapes and sizes beyond the oblong platter, allowing operators to build a consistent look across their table setting. If you are planning a full cover setup or want to confirm which pieces are available and in stock, our team can help you put together a suitable selection.
