These BBP polycarbonate champagne flutes are a practical alternative to glassware in settings where breakage is a genuine operational risk. Made from polycarbonate, they closely replicate the slim profile of a traditional flute while eliminating the fragility that makes standard glass unsuitable for outdoor bars, poolside service, festivals, and similar environments. Each flute holds 200ml and is CE marked at 175ml, meeting UK licensing requirements for managed measures.

In service, polycarbonate drinkware takes the kind of handling that glass simply cannot. Dropped on a terrace, knocked off a bar tray, or stacked carelessly during a busy event clear-up — polycarbonate absorbs the impact and keeps going. The flutes are rated for approximately 500 glasswasher cycles, which makes them a practical long-term investment for operators who run regular outdoor or event service rather than a disposable solution.

  • CE marked at 175ml — compliant for licensed premises serving measured pours
  • Glasswasher safe with a useful service life of around 500 washes
  • Shatter-resistant polycarbonate — suitable where glass is prohibited or impractical
  • Sold in packs of 12, suited to topping up existing stock or equipping a new operation

These flutes are well suited to outdoor hospitality venues, event caterers, festival bars, sports facilities, and anywhere that glass presents a safety or licensing concern. They are not intended to replace glassware in formal fine-dining environments where presentation expectations are different. For very high-volume events requiring larger pack quantities, it is worth discussing options with the team to ensure you have the right quantity and format for your service model.

If you are unsure whether polycarbonate is the right choice for your venue or need guidance on quantities for a particular event format, we are happy to help you work through it.

Frequently asked questions

Are these flutes suitable for use on licensed premises serving measured pours?

Yes. Each flute is CE marked at 175ml, which meets UK requirements for serving a standard measured pour of sparkling wine or champagne on a licensed premises. The 200ml total capacity allows for a reasonable pour without overflow.

How well do polycarbonate flutes hold up in a busy outdoor event environment?

Polycarbonate is considerably more resilient than glass and will withstand the drops and knocks typical of outdoor bars, terraces, and festival service without shattering. The rated glasswasher life of around 500 cycles reflects genuine repeated commercial use rather than occasional deployment, making these a practical ongoing investment rather than a single-event purchase.

Can these be washed in a commercial glasswasher, and are there any care considerations?

These flutes are confirmed glasswasher safe and are rated for approximately 500 wash cycles. As with all polycarbonate drinkware, avoid abrasive cleaning agents or steel wool, which can scratch and cloud the surface over time — standard commercial glasswasher detergents are fine.
