The Lincat GR3/WS is a wall-mounted shelf designed specifically to match the Lincat GR3 salamander grill. Its purpose is straightforward: to provide a secure, correctly rated fixing point that positions the GR3 at a consistent working height on the wall, freeing the counter or pass surface beneath for other use.

In a working kitchen this arrangement makes a practical difference. A wall-mounted salamander sits at a fixed, repeatable height throughout service, remains stable under the incidental contact that bench-mounted units can attract, and allows operators to work comfortably beneath it without obstruction. Cleaning around and below the unit at close-down is also more manageable when the space is fully clear.

Using the manufacturer-matched shelf is worth doing for reasons beyond convenience. The GR3/WS is engineered to align with the GR3's fixing geometry and carry its load correctly. A generic bracket may not suit the unit's weight distribution or mounting points, which introduces unnecessary risk in a busy service environment.

Installation requires the shelf to be fixed securely into a wall capable of bearing the combined weight of the shelf and the grill. Wall construction varies — solid masonry, stud partitions, and tiled surfaces each call for different fixings and approaches — so it is worth assessing the substrate before ordering. Fixing should be carried out by a competent installer or kitchen fit-out contractor rather than attempted without the appropriate fixings for the wall type.

This shelf suits any kitchen running a Lincat GR3 salamander where wall placement is the preferred arrangement. If you are considering the installation approach or want to confirm the GR3 is the right unit for your kitchen, the team is happy to talk it through with you.

Frequently asked questions

Does the GR3/WS only work with the Lincat GR3 salamander?

Yes — the GR3/WS is designed and rated specifically for the Lincat GR3. It aligns with the GR3's fixing points and is sized to carry that unit's load correctly. Using it with a different salamander, or fitting a different bracket to a GR3, is not something we would recommend.

What wall types are suitable for fitting this shelf?

The shelf can be fixed to solid masonry, blockwork, or appropriately reinforced stud partitions, but the fixing approach will differ depending on the substrate. Tiled surfaces and stud walls in particular require careful assessment before installation. We would always recommend having the fixing carried out by a competent installer who can specify the correct fixings for your wall construction.

Is it straightforward to install, or does it need a specialist?

The shelf itself is a relatively simple accessory, but the wall fixing is the critical part. Getting the fixings wrong — particularly on a stud wall or a surface with limited load-bearing capacity — creates a safety risk in a busy kitchen environment. A kitchen fit-out contractor or competent tradesperson should carry out the installation rather than attempting it without verified fixings for the substrate.
