The 3M HF-S range is a series of replacement filter cartridges designed for use with commercial ice machines. Each cartridge filters the incoming water supply to reduce sediment, chlorine and certain bacteria before that water reaches the machine's evaporator plates, with the practical result being cleaner, clearer ice free from off-tastes and odours.

In a bar or kitchen environment, water quality affects ice on two fronts: what it tastes like in the glass, and what it does to the machine over time. Chlorine and particulate matter degrade ice quality noticeably in direct-serve applications, while limescale accumulation on evaporator plates is one of the more common causes of reduced output and unplanned service calls. The HF-S cartridges include a scale inhibitor that addresses this at the point of supply, helping to maintain consistent machine performance between scheduled maintenance visits.

Installation requires a compatible 3M SQC head assembly already fitted to the water supply line. It is worth confirming that your existing ice machine set-up uses the appropriate head before ordering, as the cartridges span different flow rate capacities within the range. Sites with high ice output demand or particularly hard local water may find a higher-capacity cartridge within the range more appropriate than the base option.
