The Shadow Aqua bowls from Amefa's Médard De Noblat range are 195mm stoneware pieces finished with a reactive glaze process, which means each bowl carries its own subtle variation in colour and texture. The interior carries an aqua tone, the exterior an anthracite finish, and a warm golden-brown rim ties the two together. Because the reactive glaze produces natural variation, no two pieces are identical — a characteristic that suits contemporary table settings well.

In a hospitality setting these bowls work comfortably across a range of courses and presentations. The off-round organic form gives them a handcrafted quality that reads well on the pass, and the contrast between the interior and exterior glazes tends to complement natural materials such as linen and wood on a dressed table. The stoneware construction gives reasonable weight and substance in the hand without being unwieldy.

  • Dishwasher safe — suitable for commercial glasswasher and dishwasher cycles
  • Microwave safe — useful for finishing or holding dishes during service
  • Supplied in a pack of six — practical for consistent table setting across covers
  • Reactive glaze finish — each piece is unique, suited to contemporary tableware programmes

As with all reactive-glazed stoneware, some variation in glaze pooling and rim colouration is inherent to the production process and should be expected across a pack. This is a characteristic of the ware rather than a quality issue, but it is worth bearing in mind when building large cover counts from multiple packs.

If you are specifying tableware across a larger operation or want to discuss how the Shadow Aqua range fits alongside other pieces in your table programme, we are happy to help.

Frequently asked questions

Are these bowls suitable for use in a commercial dishwasher?

Yes, the Shadow Aqua bowls are rated dishwasher safe and are generally suitable for commercial dishwasher and glasswasher cycles. As with all decorative stoneware, frequent high-temperature commercial washing over time can gradually affect glaze appearance, so it is worth monitoring condition across your stock.

How much variation should I expect between bowls within a pack?

Reactive glaze firing produces natural variation in colour depth, glaze pooling, and rim tone, so each piece will differ slightly from the next. This is inherent to the manufacturing process and is considered a defining characteristic of the range rather than a defect. If you are matching across multiple packs for a larger cover count, some visible variation between batches is likely.

Is the Shadow Aqua range available in larger quantities for bigger operations?

The bowls are supplied in packs of six, so larger cover requirements can be met by ordering multiple packs. If you are specifying tableware across a larger site or want to discuss the full Shadow Aqua range and how it fits your table programme, our team can assist with that conversation.
