The Dudson Makers Finca Limestone Nova Plate is a 254mm vitrified fine china plate from the Makers Finca collection, produced by Churchill. The Finca range is built around a multi-tonal print designed to replicate the worn, textured quality of rustic surfaces and architectural finishes. Each piece carries a semi-matte, hand-dipped glaze and retains individual makers marks on the reverse, which means no two pieces are entirely identical — a deliberate design choice rather than a manufacturing inconsistency.

Despite its artisan appearance, the decoration is applied in-glaze rather than on-glaze, which significantly improves durability under the repeated mechanical and chemical stress of commercial dishwashing. Vitrified fine china is a practical choice for busy front-of-house operations: it offers good chip resistance relative to standard earthenware and maintains its appearance over an extended service life when handled and stored correctly.

The Limestone colourway sits within a broader Finca palette, so operators building a layered table setting across multiple courses or formats can draw from the same collection for visual consistency. The semi-matte glaze finish tends to suit relaxed dining concepts, neighbourhood restaurants, wine bars, and hospitality venues where a handcrafted aesthetic supports the overall look without appearing forced.

Plates in this format are supplied in packs of 12, which aligns well with standard cover counts and makes stock management straightforward. As with any decorative fine china, it is worth confirming dishwasher compatibility with your machine's chemistry and cycle settings before committing to large volumes.

If you are building a table concept around the Finca range or want to discuss which pieces within the collection work well together for your service style, we are happy to help.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Finca Limestone plate suitable for daily commercial dishwashing?

Yes. The decoration is applied in-glaze rather than on-glaze, which makes it considerably more resistant to the heat, detergents, and mechanical action of commercial dishwashers. That said, it is always worth confirming that your machine's cycle temperatures and chemical concentrations fall within the manufacturer's recommended parameters for fine china, as aggressive chemistry can shorten the lifespan of any decorated ware.

How does the hand-dipped glaze affect consistency across a pack?

The semi-matte, hand-dipped glaze process intentionally produces slight variation between pieces — tone, texture, and the makers marks on the reverse will differ across the pack. This is a deliberate characteristic of the Makers collection rather than a quality issue, and it tends to work well in dining environments where a handcrafted or artisanal aesthetic is part of the concept.

Can I mix the Limestone Nova Plate with other pieces in the Finca range?

Yes. The Finca collection is designed with a cohesive multi-tonal palette, so different plate formats and serving pieces within the range are intended to sit alongside one another on the table. If you are planning a layered table build across multiple courses or service formats, it is worth reviewing the full Finca offering to ensure the pieces you select complement each other — we can advise on that if it would be helpful.
