The Churchill Alchemy Sequel tea cup is a white porcelain cup made for everyday professional food service. It holds 450ml, making it a practical choice for standard tea service, and is supplied in packs of twelve — a sensible unit for front-of-house stock management and reordering.

Porcelain of this quality earns its place in busy operations through durability and consistent presentation rather than novelty. In a working café, hotel breakfast room, or staff restaurant, cups go through repeated cycles of hot liquid, commercial dishwasher, and restacking. The Sequel cup holds its appearance well under that kind of routine use — the glaze stays clean and the finish does not dull in the way you sometimes see with lower-specification alternatives. The fully glazed foot is worth noting too: it sits cleanly on saucers without causing the surface scratching that builds up over time when running high covers.

  • Porcelain construction supports good heat retention during service
  • Fully glazed foot prevents scratching on saucers and during stacking
  • Bright white finish presents consistently under natural and artificial light
  • Suitable for standard commercial dishwasher cycles
  • Pack of 12 suits practical par stock and stock rotation

These cups are a reliable choice for cafés, hotel dining rooms, and casual dining operations where presentation and durability both need to hold up over time. For very high-volume sites running multiple sittings, it is worth reviewing whether a larger pack quantity better fits your par stock levels before ordering.

If you are building a full table setting or want to confirm compatibility with existing Alchemy saucers and side plates, the team is happy to help you work through what you need.

Frequently asked questions

Are these cups compatible with Churchill Alchemy saucers and accessories?

The Alchemy Sequel range is designed to work alongside other pieces within Churchill's Alchemy collection, so compatibility with Alchemy saucers is generally straightforward. If you are building a coordinated table setting or mixing pieces from different Alchemy lines, it is worth checking with the team to confirm the fit before placing a larger order.

How do these cups hold up under heavy commercial dishwasher use?

Porcelain at this specification is well suited to the thermal cycling of a commercial dishwasher environment — repeated high-temperature wash cycles, rapid cooling, and restacking. The glaze is designed to resist the surface dulling and crazing that can affect lower-quality alternatives over time, which is relevant for operations running high daily covers.

Is a pack of 12 the right quantity for a busy café or hotel operation?

For a smaller café or a hotel lounge with moderate covers, a pack of 12 is a practical starting point for building par stock. Higher-volume operations running multiple sittings will typically need to order several packs to maintain adequate front-of-house rotation and allow for breakages — it is worth mapping your cover count and turnaround time before deciding on total quantity.
