  • Edge chip cover for 5 years. The manufacturer’s terms apply 5

The Churchill Studio Prints Homespun range is a commercial tableware collection built around a textural, understated aesthetic. The coupe profile — a shallow, rimless shape — keeps the focus on the food rather than the plate, and the slate blue colourway gives a calm, contemporary finish that sits well alongside natural-toned or light-coloured dishes. These plates are manufactured in the UK to Churchill's standard commercial specification.

The super vitrified ceramic construction is the practical case for using these in a busy foodservice environment. Vitrification densifies the ceramic body, making it noticeably more resistant to chipping and crazing than standard earthenware or stoneware alternatives. In a high-turnover operation where plates pass through service, collection, and the dishwasher multiple times a day, that resistance to everyday damage is a meaningful operational consideration. The five-year edge chip warranty reflects the confidence Churchill place in the build. Glaze colour and surface finish hold well under regular commercial dishwasher cycling.

From a practical standpoint, the key operational points are:

  • Compatible with commercial dishwashers, ovens, and microwaves without restriction
  • Super vitrified body resists chipping and crazing under heavy daily use
  • Consistent sizing across the range supports even portioning and plating presentation
  • Coupe profile suits modern plating styles without rim interference
  • UK-made to Churchill's established commercial quality standards

There are no installation requirements for tableware of this type, but it is worth confirming that your existing dishwasher racks and plate storage will comfortably accommodate the 217mm diameter, particularly if you are mixing plate sizes across a cover. The slate blue colourway is a considered design choice rather than a neutral — it works well in many settings but is worth assessing against your existing tableware scheme and the visual style of your menu before committing to a full order.

This plate is well suited to restaurants, bistros, hotels, and contract catering operations that want durable, aesthetically considered tableware with a rustic or artisan character. Other sizes are available within the Homespun pattern for sites that need a coordinated range across different courses or cover formats.

If you are specifying tableware across a full cover or want to talk through how the Homespun range fits alongside other Studio Prints patterns, the team is glad to help — it is worth a conversation before placing a larger order.

Frequently asked questions

How well do these plates hold up in a high-turnover service environment?

Churchill's super vitrified ceramic is a practical choice for busy operations — the densified body is more resistant to chipping and crazing than standard earthenware or stoneware, and the glaze holds its finish well under regular commercial dishwasher cycling. The five-year edge chip warranty gives a reasonable indication of the expected durability in everyday commercial use.

Will the slate blue colourway work with our existing tableware scheme?

Slate blue is a specific design choice rather than a neutral tone, so it is worth assessing it alongside your existing tableware and the visual style of your menu before ordering in volume. It tends to work well with light-coloured, natural, or earthy dish presentations, but may not complement every existing scheme — if you are unsure, it is worth requesting a sample before committing to a full cover quantity.

Are there other sizes available if we need a coordinated range across courses?

Yes — the Homespun pattern is available in other sizes within the Churchill Studio Prints range, so it is possible to build a coordinated set across different courses or cover formats. If you are specifying across a full cover, the team can help you identify which sizes and pieces work together practically.
