Hinged Door Back Bar Coolers

The Tefcold BA31H is a triple hinged door back bar bottle cooler offering 311 litres of refrigerated storage across three sections. It is designed to sit behind the bar counter, keeping bottled beers, ciders, soft drinks, and wines at consistent serving temperatures while remaining accessible to staff throughout service.

Fan-assisted cooling circulates air evenly throughout the cabinet, which helps maintain consistent temperatures across all three sections even when the doors are opened frequently during a busy shift. This matters in high-turnover bar environments where product restocking and retrieval happen constantly. The LED interior lighting keeps product visible to both staff and customers without adding unnecessary heat to the cabinet.

From an operational standpoint, the three-door layout is a practical choice for venues that need to separate product types — for example, keeping lagers, ales, and soft drinks in distinct sections without running multiple separate units. The hinged door design also helps retain cold air more effectively than sliding door equivalents, which can be a meaningful advantage during peak service periods.

• Three separate hinged door sections for organised product separation
• Fan-assisted cooling reduces hot spots and supports consistent temperatures
• LED lighting improves product visibility without excessive heat gain
• Adjustable shelving accommodates a range of bottle and can sizes
• Suitable for placement in standard back bar configurations

Before purchasing, it is worth considering the available depth and width behind your bar counter, as back bar coolers require adequate clearance for ventilation and door swing. The BA31H is well suited to mid-volume bars, gastropubs, and hotel bars with steady throughput. For higher-volume sites serving very large numbers of covers or operating across multiple bar stations, a larger-capacity unit may be a better fit.

If you are unsure whether this unit matches your service volume or bar layout, we are happy to talk it through before you commit.

The Tefcold BA21H is a 196-litre back bar bottle cooler with two hinged glass doors, designed to sit behind the bar counter and keep bottled drinks at consistent serving temperatures throughout service. It is a straightforward, well-built unit from a refrigeration manufacturer with a strong track record in UK and European hospitality environments.

In a working bar setting, the BA21H is well suited to steady, continuous use across a full service shift. The ventilated cooling system handles the door openings that come with regular stock access, and the double-glazed tempered glass doors help maintain internal temperature even during busier periods. LED illumination inside the cabinet makes it easy for staff to locate stock quickly without prolonged door-open time, which supports both service speed and energy efficiency. The unit carries an EU Energy Class A rating, which reflects meaningfully lower running costs compared with older or lower-rated models — a practical consideration for any site running refrigeration around the clock.

Key operational features include:

• Double-glazed tempered glass doors to reduce thermal loss during service
• Integrated LED lighting for clear stock visibility without excess heat
• Adjustable shelving to accommodate different bottle heights and formats
• Cabinet lock for security outside of service hours
• Energy Class A rating supporting lower day-to-day running costs

As an undercounter-format unit, the BA21H requires adequate ventilation clearance — typically at the front or rear depending on the condenser configuration — and a standard 13-amp connection. It is worth confirming the ventilation requirements before installation, particularly if the unit will be built into cabinetry or a tight bar run. This is a single-zone cooler with no separate temperature areas, so it is not appropriate where very different serving temperatures are needed in the same unit.

The BA21H is a practical choice for pubs, bars, cafés, and small hotel bars with moderate throughput. It works well as a primary bottle cooler in smaller venues or as a supplementary unit in larger operations. Sites with significantly higher bottle turnover or very limited ventilation may find a larger or remote-condensing model a better fit.

If you are unsure whether this unit suits your bar layout or service volume, our team is happy to talk it through before you commit to anything.

The Polar G-Series triple solid door back bar cooler is a freestanding refrigerated cabinet designed to store bottled drinks behind the bar at consistent serving temperatures. With three hinged solid doors across a 1350mm wide footprint, it offers generous bottle capacity without requiring a deep counter overhang, making it a practical choice for back bar setups where space runs along the wall rather than under a counter.

In a working bar environment, this unit holds temperature reliably across the full cabinet, maintaining a consistent chill from the moment service begins through to last orders. The auto defrost function reduces the need for manual intervention during busy periods, and the integral temperature controller allows staff to make straightforward adjustments without needing a service engineer. The R600a refrigerant used in this unit is a lower global warming potential option, which also tends to support quieter operation — relevant in venues where bar noise is a consideration.

Practically, the solid door design helps maintain temperature stability when the cabinet is opened and closed repeatedly during service, compared with open-front or pass-through alternatives. Key operational advantages include:

• Consistent chilled storage through high-traffic service periods
• Auto defrost reduces daily maintenance requirements
• Solid doors support temperature recovery after frequent opening
• Black finish suits front-of-house and visible back bar installations
• Climate Class 4 rating confirms suitability for warm ambient kitchen and bar environments

Installation is straightforward for most bar counters — the unit is freestanding and requires a standard 13A mains connection. At 80kg, it will need two people to position safely. The 520mm depth is relatively compact, though it is worth confirming the available floor-to-overhead clearance against the 900mm cabinet height before ordering. Ventilation clearance at the rear and sides should be maintained as per the manufacturer's guidelines to avoid heat build-up affecting performance.

This cooler is well suited to pubs, bars, hotel bars, and licensed restaurants with moderate to high bottle throughput. It works particularly well in venues where a presentable back bar appearance matters alongside practical chilling capacity. For smaller bars with limited back bar space, a single or twin door version may be more appropriate, while very high-volume venues or those chilling a wide range of products simultaneously may find a larger or multi-zone unit better fits their operation.

If you are unsure whether this model is the right fit for your bar layout or service volumes, our team are happy to talk it through with you before you commit to an order.

The Polar G-Series back bar cooler is a two-door under-counter refrigeration unit designed for storing bottles, mixers, garnishes and other bar essentials at a consistent serving temperature. With solid lockable doors and four adjustable shelves, it provides secure, well-organised storage without the visual clutter of a glass-door display unit — useful in back-bar positions where presentation is less of a priority than practicality.

In a busy bar environment, consistent temperature recovery matters. The G-Series is built to maintain its operating range throughout a service period, including in ambient conditions up to 32°C — making it a reasonable choice for warm bar environments or kitchens where the surrounding temperature can climb during peak hours. The digital control panel gives a constant temperature readout without requiring staff to open the doors, which helps maintain stable internal conditions during busy periods.

From an operational standpoint, the unit offers several practical advantages:

• Solid lockable doors help manage stock security and reduce temperature fluctuation from casual browsing
• Adjustable shelving accommodates different bottle heights and container sizes
• Digital display allows temperature monitoring without breaking the cold chain

• R600a refrigerant contributes to a lower environmental impact over the unit's working life

At 1350mm wide, this unit requires a reasonable run of back bar space, and at 80kg it is a two-person installation job. The hinged door configuration means you will need adequate clearance in front of the unit — typically around 600mm — for doors to open fully during service. It connects to a standard UK mains supply, so electrical installation is straightforward, but confirming the existing circuit capacity before positioning the unit is always worthwhile. This model is suited to ground-level installation and is not designed for stacking.

The G-Series in this configuration suits bars, pubs, clubs, and hospitality venues where a medium-capacity chilled bottle display is needed behind the counter. It is well suited to sites serving a consistent but not exceptionally high volume — a venue turning over stock rapidly across multiple service points may benefit from a higher-capacity unit instead. For smaller bar set-ups with tighter counter runs, a narrower single- or double-door alternative may be more practical.

If you are weighing this up against the demands of your specific bar layout or service volume, our team is happy to talk it through before you commit to an order.

The Polar G-Series back bar cooler is a double-door undercounter refrigerator designed for front-of-house use in bars, pubs, and licensed venues. Its primary function is to keep bottled and canned drinks at consistent serving temperature while remaining visible and accessible to bar staff throughout service. With a stainless steel exterior and double-glazed hinged doors, it is built to handle the repeated opening and closing that comes with a busy bar environment.

In practice, this unit performs reliably during sustained service periods. The R600a refrigerant system maintains temperature between 2°C and 8°C and is rated to operate in ambient conditions up to 32°C — a useful characteristic in kitchens and bar areas that can warm up quickly during a busy shift. LED internal lighting keeps the contents clearly visible without contributing unnecessary heat or running costs.

For bar operators, the practical advantages are straightforward:

• Double-glazed doors reduce temperature loss each time the unit is opened
• LED lighting improves bottle visibility without generating heat
• Stainless steel construction is straightforward to wipe down and resists surface damage
• Digital controls allow staff to monitor and adjust temperature without specialist knowledge

Installation is uncomplicated — the unit runs on a standard single-phase supply and requires adequate clearance around the ventilation points to maintain efficiency. It is worth confirming that your bar layout allows sufficient airflow at the rear or sides before positioning the unit against a wall or in a confined run. At 62kg, it can be moved into position by two people without specialist equipment.

This cooler is well suited to small to medium-volume bars, hotel bars, and venues serving a steady throughput of bottled drinks. It holds up to 180 standard 330ml bottles, which suits moderate service demands well. For higher-volume sites — such as large nightclubs or festival concessions — a larger-capacity model may be worth considering to reduce restocking frequency during peak periods.

If you are unsure whether this unit matches your expected throughput or bar layout, our team is happy to talk it through with you before you commit to an order.

The Polar G-Series back bar cooler is a single-door under-counter refrigerator designed to store and display bottled and canned drinks at the point of service. Built for placement behind or beneath a bar counter, it keeps contents chilled and visible without requiring staff to leave the service area. The hinged double-glazed glass door allows customers and staff to see the stock at a glance, which supports faster service and helps with stock rotation.

In a busy bar or pub environment, reliable temperature holding is more important than it might seem. This unit is rated to maintain temperature in ambient conditions up to 32°C, which matters in venues where kitchen heat or summer trading can push room temperatures up. The R600a refrigerant system is a common choice for units of this type — efficient and well-suited to the duty cycle of a bar cooler that's opened regularly throughout a shift. LED lighting keeps the interior well illuminated without generating significant heat or adding meaningfully to running costs.

Practical day-to-day advantages include:

• Adjustable shelving to accommodate different bottle heights and formats
• Digital temperature controls for straightforward monitoring and adjustment
• Stainless steel exterior that wipes down quickly during and after service
• Lockable door to support stock control in high-footfall venues
• Low-profile under-counter footprint that fits neatly into most bar builds

Installation is straightforward — the unit requires a standard 13-amp socket and adequate ventilation around the cabinet. As with all refrigeration, it should not be positioned directly against a wall with no rear clearance, and it should not be placed adjacent to heat sources such as glasswashers or ovens. At 48kg it is manageable to position during a fit-out, though the exact placement should be confirmed before installation given the fixed plinth height of most bar counters.

This cooler is well suited to pubs, bars, cafés, and smaller hotel bars where a single-door under-counter unit handles the volume. It holds up to 108 standard 330ml bottles, which is a reasonable working stock for a moderate-volume bar. For high-volume venues or those requiring a larger chilled display, a wider or multi-door alternative may be worth considering. Equally, if the primary need is for wine or a mixed ambient range, it is worth discussing whether a different product type would serve better.

If you are unsure whether this unit matches your service volume or fits your bar configuration, our team is happy to talk it through before you commit.

The Polar G-Series back bar cooler is a triple hinged-door bottle chiller designed for front-of-house display and service. If you are unsure whether this unit fits your bar layout or service requirements, our team is happy to talk it through before you commit to an order.

The Sterling Pro BBS220HINGED is a double-door hinged bottle cooler designed to sit under or behind a bar counter, keeping bottled drinks at consistent serving temperatures throughout service. With 223 litres of usable capacity split across two sections, it offers a practical level of accessible stock storage without demanding an excessive footprint in a working bar environment.

In a busy bar or hospitality setting, what matters most is reliable temperature holding during peak service. The self-closing doors help maintain cabinet temperature when staff are moving quickly and aren't always focused on closing the unit behind them, and the lockable doors add a useful layer of stock security at close-down or in venues with shared back-of-bar access. LED internal lighting makes stock identification quick during a busy shift without contributing meaningfully to the heat load inside the cabinet.

From a day-to-day operational standpoint, the BBS220HINGED offers several practical advantages:

• Adjustable shelving accommodates different bottle sizes and product ranges
• Self-closing doors reduce temperature loss during high-traffic service periods
• Lockable doors protect stock at close-down or in shared-access environments
• LED lighting supports fast stock identification without adding heat inside the cabinet
• Black exterior sits cleanly within most bar back-fits without drawing attention

Installation is straightforward for an under-counter position. The unit requires a standard UK mains supply and adequate ventilation clearance — particularly at the rear — to allow the refrigeration system to dissipate heat effectively. Positioning in enclosed or poorly ventilated spaces will reduce efficiency and place unnecessary strain on the compressor over time. As with any floor-level refrigeration unit, a level surface is important for door alignment and seal performance.

This cooler is well suited to small to mid-sized bars, pub back bars, hotel hospitality areas, and similar front-of-house environments where a compact, reliable under-counter chiller is needed. For operations running higher throughput or a broader bottle range, it is worth considering whether a wider or higher-capacity unit would better serve the volume required.

If you're weighing up whether this unit fits your bar layout or service pattern, the team is glad to talk it through before you commit.
