Lincat
Lincat LCG Single Head Contact Grill
£479.00(£574.80 inc VAT)
The Lincat LCG is a single-head electric contact grill designed for counter-top use in commercial kitchens. Enamelled cast iron plates on both the upper and lower platens apply direct, even heat from both sides simultaneously, making it suitable for burgers, steaks, chops, fish fillets, paninis, and toasted sandwiches. A thermostatic control allows the operator to set and hold a consistent cooking temperature throughout service.
In a working kitchen, the LCG performs reliably in light to moderate service settings. The cast iron plates retain heat well between batches and the unit reaches working temperature quickly from cold, which suits operations that do not run the grill continuously across a full shift. For kitchens turning out sustained high volumes through a busy grill section, a twin-head or heavier-duty unit would offer better throughput and greater resilience under continuous use.
Day-to-day, the LCG offers a practical set of operational advantages:
- Enamelled cast iron plates clean more easily than raw iron and resist staining from oils and marinades
- Balanced hinge action avoids over-pressing lighter products such as paninis, wraps, and flatbreads
- Thermostatic control reduces the risk of scorching when the grill sits idle between orders
- Compact footprint suits kitchens where bench space is at a premium
The LCG requires only a mains electricity supply — no gas or water connection — keeping installation straightforward. Allow adequate clearance around the casing for heat dissipation, and position it beneath or close to an extraction canopy to manage steam and cooking vapours during service.
This grill is well matched to cafés, sandwich bars, pub kitchens, and small restaurant operations running a mixed menu of grilled and toasted items, particularly where the grill is in regular but not continuous use. If your operation runs a heavier grill section or anticipates significant growth in covers, it is worth considering whether a larger-capacity model would be a better long-term fit.
If you would like to talk through whether the LCG suits your service volume and menu before you order, the team is happy to help.

Frequently asked questions
Is the LCG suitable for a busy lunch service turning out high volumes of paninis?
The LCG handles light to moderate service volumes well and is a practical choice for cafés and sandwich bars with a steady but manageable throughput. If your operation runs a continuous, high-volume grill section with little downtime between batches, a twin-head or heavier-duty contact grill is likely to be a better fit and worth discussing with our team.
What are the installation requirements for the Lincat LCG?
The LCG is a mains electric unit, so no gas supply or water connection is needed. You will need to allow clearance around the unit for safe heat dissipation, and siting it beneath or near an extraction canopy is strongly advisable to handle steam and cooking vapours — particularly during busier service periods.
How straightforward is the LCG to clean after service?
The enamelled cast iron plates are notably easier to clean than raw iron alternatives, resisting staining from oils and marinades and wiping down without excessive effort. Allowing the plates to cool to a safe handling temperature before cleaning is the standard practice, and the enamelled finish holds up well to regular daily cleaning routines.
