This 24-piece set from Olympia brings together crockery, cutlery and glassware in a single package aimed at students moving into halls of residence or shared housing. Rather than sourcing each item separately, the set covers the basic table essentials needed from day one: plates, bowls, mugs, cutlery and tumblers.

The cutlery is drawn from Olympia's Kelso range, made from stainless steel and built to handle daily use without bending or corroding. The crockery comes from the Athena Hotelware range, which uses a super vitrified glaze and rolled edges — a construction approach commonly used in budget hotel and catering environments precisely because it resists chipping better than standard domestic ceramics. Two toughened glass tumblers complete the set.

For a student or shared household context, the practical advantages are straightforward:

  • Crockery construction resists chipping through repeated stacking and dishwasher cycles
  • Stainless steel cutlery holds up to heavy everyday use without distorting
  • Toughened glass tumblers are more robust than standard drinking glasses
  • A complete set avoids the cost and effort of buying pieces individually
  • Olympia components are replaceable individually if items are lost or broken over time

It is worth noting that this is a starter set rather than a professional catering product. The quantities are suited to one or two people, and the set is not intended for volume service. If you are equipping a student common room, shared kitchen facility or similar communal space requiring larger quantities, it would be worth discussing your requirements before ordering multiples of this set — there may be more practical ways to approach that.

If you are unsure whether this set covers what you need or want to discuss larger quantities, feel free to get in touch with the team.

Frequently asked questions

How many people does this set cover?

The set is sized for one to two people, providing enough plates, bowls, mugs and cutlery for individual daily use. If you are equipping a shared house with multiple residents, you would need to consider whether multiple sets or a larger loose purchase makes more practical sense.

Is the crockery suitable for a commercial dishwasher?

The Athena Hotelware range is designed with a vitrified glaze that performs well through repeated machine washing, and it is commonly used in budget hotel and catering environments for exactly that reason. That said, this set is packaged as a student starter product rather than a commercial catering line, so it is worth bearing the intended context in mind.

Can individual items be replaced if something breaks?

Yes — the Kelso cutlery and Athena Hotelware crockery are both part of broader Olympia ranges, so individual pieces can be sourced separately rather than replacing the entire set. If you need help identifying the right matching items, the team can point you in the right direction.
