The Global G-2 is a 20cm cook's knife from Global's core G series, and one of the most consistently used professional knives in commercial kitchens across the UK and Europe. Made from Molybdenum-Vanadium 18 stainless steel — a high-carbon alloy that holds a keen edge well and resists the staining and corrosion that comes with sustained use in wet prep environments — the blade is hollow-ground and ice-tempered to produce a thin, acute cutting angle that reduces drag across a wide range of ingredients.
In a working kitchen, the G-2 performs reliably as an all-purpose prep knife. At 170g it is light enough to use across extended prep sessions without causing fatigue, yet it carries enough balance for heavier tasks such as breaking down larger cuts or working through dense root vegetables. The seamless one-piece construction between blade and handle eliminates the crevices where bacteria can accumulate — a practical advantage when knives are passing through a professional wash cycle day after day over a working life measured in years.
- Holds a sharp edge through sustained prep use without frequent honing
- Seamless construction supports rigorous hygiene and repeated machine washing
- Light enough for extended prep, balanced well enough for varied tasks
- Corrosion-resistant steel suited to wet, high-demand prep environments
- Compatible with standard sharpening equipment used in professional kitchens
The G-2 is well suited to professional chefs and prep teams who want a proven generalist knife that performs consistently across a broad range of daily tasks. It is not a specialist blade — chefs who work predominantly on a single application such as filleting or carving may find a dedicated knife more efficient — but for general brigade use it earns its place on the station.
If you are putting together a knife kit for a new team or want to talk through the wider Global range, we are happy to help you choose the right tools for how your kitchen works.

The Global 111870 is a hardwired 36" ceiling fan supplied with a 12" drop rod, designed for permanent installation in commercial dining rooms, cafés, staff areas, or light kitchen environments where consistent air movement is needed throughout the day.
In practice, ceiling fans of this type do a reliable job of keeping air circulating in spaces that can become stuffy during busy service periods. The forward and reverse operation makes the unit useful year-round — running forward in warmer months to create a cooling downdraught, and in reverse during colder periods to gently redistribute warm air that collects near the ceiling without creating a draught at floor level. At 45W it draws very little power for continuous operation, which makes it a cost-effective solution for spaces that need climate management without the running costs of air conditioning.
- Forward and reverse operation for year-round use
- Low 45W power draw suits continuous daily operation
- Metal construction built for commercial durability
- Quiet running keeps dining and working environments comfortable
- 12" drop rod brings the fan to an effective working height
Installation requires a hardwired connection, so it will need to be fitted by a qualified electrician. The 12" drop rod is included and suits standard commercial ceiling heights, though you should confirm the finished height is appropriate for your space before ordering — particularly in rooms with lower ceilings or where the fan sits above a busy thoroughfare. At 5.2kg the unit is manageable to install but does require a secure ceiling mounting point capable of supporting a rotating load.
This fan is well suited to small to mid-sized dining rooms, cafés, and front-of-house areas where background air movement improves comfort without the complexity or cost of a full HVAC system. For larger open-plan spaces or areas with particularly high ceilings, a larger-diameter or higher-output model may circulate air more effectively.
If you're unsure whether this fan suits your ceiling height, room size, or layout, we're happy to talk it through before you order.

The Global G-5 is a Japanese-made vegetable chopper with a 17.7cm blade, constructed from molybdenum-vanadium 18 stainless steel in a single-piece design. It sits within Global's G series — a range of full-sized professional knives built for consistent performance across demanding prep schedules. The broad, sturdy chopper profile is a deliberate departure from a standard chef's knife, making it more practical when working through high volumes of root vegetables, brassicas, or bulk produce at speed.
In regular kitchen use, the G-5 holds its edge reliably through long prep sessions without needing frequent attention between sharpening. The steel composition resists corrosion and staining under daily washing routines, and at 180g the blade carries enough weight to assist the cut without becoming tiring during sustained repetitive work. Global's hollow handle, filled with sand to achieve balance, is a well-established feature of the series and contributes to the knife's control across different cutting styles and grip preferences.
From an operational standpoint, the main advantages are:
- Consistent edge retention that reduces the need for mid-service sharpening
- Single-piece stainless steel construction — no handle joint, straightforward to clean and inspect
- Balanced weight distribution that supports repetitive chopping with reduced operator fatigue
- Corrosion-resistant steel that holds up under regular commercial washing
One practical consideration: the G-5 is hand-wash recommended. Repeated dishwasher cycles can degrade the edge over time, which matters in a professional setting where blade longevity is part of managing costs. It is also worth noting that Global recommends its own ceramic whetstones or the Minosharp sharpening system for best results — standard honing steels are not compatible with the steel grade.
This knife is well suited to chefs and prep teams working with high volumes of vegetables who want a single-piece blade that is straightforward to maintain, clean, and rely on across a busy week. For operations regularly breaking down heavier or denser produce, a broader or heavier chopper from elsewhere in the Global range may be worth considering alongside it.
If you are putting together a knife kit or want to talk through which Global blades make sense for your prep operation, we are happy to help you work that out.

The Global 111894 is a hardwired 56-inch ceiling fan supplied with both 12-inch and 24-inch drop rods, giving some flexibility in mounting height to suit different ceiling configurations. It is built for continuous use in commercial environments where maintaining consistent air movement is important for staff comfort and customer experience.
In practice, a fan of this diameter is capable of moving a meaningful volume of air across a reasonably large area, making it a practical choice for dining rooms, function spaces, or covered outdoor areas where natural ventilation is limited. The fan operates quietly, which matters in customer-facing settings where background noise from equipment can become intrusive over a long service. Running at 68W, it draws relatively modest power for its size, which helps keep ongoing running costs in check.
The forward and reverse operation is a useful feature year-round. In warmer months the fan circulates cool air downward; in reverse, it gently redistributes warm air that collects near the ceiling without creating a direct draught — a consideration worth bearing in mind in heated dining spaces during winter.
- Quiet operation suited to front-of-house and dining environments
- Forward and reverse modes for use across seasons
- Energy-efficient at 68W for its coverage area
- Supplied with two drop rod lengths for installation flexibility
- Metal construction built for everyday commercial use
Installation requires a hardwired connection, so involvement of a qualified electrician is necessary. The chosen drop rod length will affect the effective blade height, and it is worth confirming ceiling height and any structural fixing requirements before ordering. At 7.7kg the unit is manageable to install, but a solid ceiling fixing point is essential.
This fan is well suited to mid-sized dining rooms, cafés, function halls, or covered hospitality areas. For larger or higher-ceilinged spaces, a higher-output or larger-diameter model may provide better coverage.
If you are unsure whether this fan is the right fit for your space — in terms of size, ceiling height, or mounting requirements — our team is happy to talk it through with you.
£54.98(£65.98 inc VAT)
The Global GSF-22 is a compact utility knife from Global's professional Japanese knife range. With an 11.4cm blade manufactured from molybdenum-vanadium 18 stainless steel, it sits between a paring knife and a chef's knife in terms of reach — making it a practical choice for smaller, more precise prep tasks where a full-length blade would feel unwieldy.
In a working kitchen, a knife of this size earns its place on the prep bench for trimming, slicing smaller vegetables, portioning soft proteins, and general mise en place. It's light enough to use for extended prep sessions without fatigue, yet the blade holds an edge well under regular professional use — a direct result of the high-carbon stainless steel construction and the hollow handle design that distributes weight consistently through the grip.
Global's one-piece construction means there are no seams, rivets, or handle joins where bacteria can accumulate — a practical hygiene advantage in any kitchen subject to regular deep cleaning or environmental health inspection. The smooth steel surface cleans quickly and withstands repeated dishwasher cycles, though hand washing is generally recommended to preserve edge longevity.
- Lightweight at 90g — reduces hand fatigue during extended prep
- Seamless one-piece construction supports good kitchen hygiene practice
- Edge retention suited to daily professional use
- Versatile blade length for smaller precision tasks
This knife is well suited to professional kitchens looking to build out a reliable Global set, or as a standalone utility blade for chefs who prefer a lighter tool for detailed work. It is not intended as a primary all-purpose chef's knife — operators needing a single workhorse blade may find a longer Global model more appropriate.
If you're unsure which knife or combination of blades best suits your kitchen's prep requirements, the team is happy to help you think it through.

The Global GS-20 is a pair of professional fish bone tweezers designed specifically for pin-boning fish fillets cleanly and efficiently. Made in Japan from molybdenum-vanadium stainless steel, they are built to the same standard as the wider Global cutlery range — which has earned a long-standing reputation in professional kitchens for consistency and build quality.
In a working kitchen environment, the difference between adequate and well-made tweezers becomes apparent quickly. The GS-20 offers the grip and control needed to remove pin bones reliably without tearing the flesh, which matters when presentation and yield are both under pressure during service prep. The stainless steel construction resists staining and stands up well to repeated washing.
- Precision tip for accurate grip on fine pin bones
- Stainless steel construction — hygienic and easy to clean
- Comfortable to use during extended prep sessions
- Suitable for a wide range of fish species and fillet sizes
- Lightweight at 60g, reducing hand fatigue during repetitive tasks
These tweezers are a practical addition to any fish preparation station. They are well suited to restaurants, hotel kitchens, fishmongers, and catering operations where fish is prepared in-house. For kitchens processing very high volumes of fish, it is worth considering whether multiple pairs are a sensible investment to keep prep moving efficiently.
If you're putting together a fish prep setup or want to check whether the GS-20 is the right fit alongside other Global prep tools, the team is happy to help.
£86.83(£104.20 inc VAT)
The Global GS-3 is a compact chef's knife from Global's GS series, designed for the kind of detail work and close-control cutting where a full-length chef's knife can feel unwieldy. With a 12.7cm blade, it sits comfortably between a paring knife and a standard chef's knife, making it a practical choice for prep tasks that call for precision rather than reach.
Global knives are manufactured in Japan from a single piece of molybdenum-vanadium 18 stainless steel — blade and handle formed together with no joint or bolster. The hollow handle is filled to a precise weight to give the knife its characteristic balance, and at 100g the GS-3 is notably light in the hand. The steel holds a fine edge well and is resistant to the corrosion and staining that harder use in a busy kitchen inevitably brings.
In a working kitchen, the GS-3 tends to earn its place as a reliable second knife — useful for breaking down herbs, trimming protein, or any task where the chef wants something shorter and more controllable than their main blade. The seamless construction also makes it straightforward to keep clean, with nowhere for food debris to collect around the handle joint.
The GS series is well suited to professional kitchens where the brigade works with a personal knife roll, and the GS-3 is a sensible addition for chefs who prefer a compact option alongside a longer blade. For chefs who need a full-length knife as their primary tool, the wider GS and G series offer larger profiles. For lighter work such as peeling or fine garnish, a paring knife from the same range may be more appropriate.
If you're building out a knife kit for your kitchen or want guidance on which Global knives suit your section's workload, we're happy to help.
£118.00(£141.60 inc VAT)
The Global 111887 is a hardwired 48" ceiling fan supplied with a 12" drop rod, designed for continuous use in commercial kitchens, dining areas, and other working environments where consistent air movement matters. It runs on a standard hardwired connection and is built from metal throughout, keeping it durable under the demands of everyday commercial operation.
In practice, this fan performs best in spaces where air circulation is needed to maintain a comfortable environment for staff or customers during service. The 65W motor keeps running costs low relative to the coverage provided, and the quiet operation means it won't become a distraction in customer-facing areas. It's a straightforward, reliable solution rather than a high-tech system, and it performs well in that role.
The ability to switch between forward and reverse rotation makes it genuinely useful across seasons — pushing warm air down in winter, encouraging cooling circulation in warmer months. Key practical points include:
- Forward and reverse operation for year-round use
- Low 65W draw, keeping energy costs modest over long run times
- Hardwired connection for a clean, permanent installation
- Metal construction suited to the demands of commercial environments
- Quiet running, appropriate for dining spaces as well as back-of-house
Installation requires a hardwired connection, so an electrician will be needed. The 12" drop rod positions the fan at a practical working height in rooms with standard commercial ceiling heights, but it's worth confirming ceiling height and structural fixing points before ordering — the fan head assembly has a meaningful spread and needs adequate clearance.
This fan is well suited to smaller commercial dining rooms, café spaces, or kitchen prep areas that need consistent air movement without the cost or complexity of a mechanical ventilation upgrade. For larger or more demanding spaces, a higher-output model may be worth considering.
If you're unsure whether this fan suits your ceiling height or space, the team is happy to talk it through before you commit.
£170.00(£204.00 inc VAT)
The Global G-16 is a 25.4cm chef's knife from Global's G series, manufactured in Japan from Molybdenum-Vanadium 18 stainless steel. This high-chromium alloy is chosen for its ability to hold a keen edge through the demands of daily kitchen use — including exposure to acidic ingredients, frequent washing, and the general pace of a working brigade.
The longer blade makes the G-16 a practical choice for volume prep: breaking down larger cuts of meat, working through dense root vegetables, or any task where a shorter blade becomes a limiting factor. Global's hollow sand-filled handle is designed to achieve a specific balance point rather than simply reduce weight, and in practice it allows extended prep sessions without the hand fatigue that a poorly weighted knife can introduce over a long shift.
Molybdenum-Vanadium steel takes a good edge and, with regular honing, holds it reliably through service. It is not the easiest steel to re-sharpen from scratch, but it rewards consistent maintenance. A few practical points worth noting:
- Hand wash and dry promptly — commercial dishwashers will degrade both edge and handle over time
- Hone regularly between uses to maintain cutting performance
- Use a sharpening method suited to Japanese-profile blades when re-edging is needed
The G-16 is well suited to experienced chefs who work with a longer blade and are comfortable with a Japanese-style profile and lighter overall feel. Chefs who prefer a heavier, more traditional European-style knife may find the balance less familiar. For kitchens where knife skills vary across the team, it is worth considering whether a more forgiving profile would serve the broader brigade better.
If you are equipping a new kitchen or reviewing your knife setup, we are happy to talk through what works best for your team's prep style and workload.
£425.00(£510.00 inc VAT)
The Global 7 Piece Knife Set brings together the knives most commonly reached for during daily prep in a professional kitchen — covering cooks, carving, boning, utility, vegetable, and peeling tasks — and supplies them in a roll-style knife wallet for organised storage and safe transport between sections or sites.
Global knives are well established in professional kitchens, and the reason they endure comes down to a few practical details. The blades are ground from molybdenum-vanadium stainless steel to a notably acute edge, which gives consistent cutting performance across a broad range of prep work without requiring constant attention. Edge retention under regular use is one of the stronger points of the range. The seamless, hollow-handle construction is equally practical from a hygiene standpoint — there are no joints or crevices where food debris can accumulate, which makes cleaning straightforward and supports compliance in kitchens where hygiene standards are closely monitored. The handles are sand-weighted to a balance point that many chefs find comfortable during extended prep sessions.
- Seven knives covering the core cutting tasks across a professional kitchen section
- Seamless one-piece construction with no joints or dirt traps
- Molybdenum-vanadium steel holds a sharp edge well under sustained daily use
- Sand-weighted hollow handles provide natural balance during extended prep
- Supplied with a roll-style knife wallet for safe storage and transport
One practical consideration worth noting: Global blades are best maintained with a ceramic honing rod or whetstone rather than a standard steel. If your brigade is not already familiar with the brand, it is worth briefing them on this before the knives go into daily service.
This set suits chefs equipping a new section or replacing a mixed collection of ageing knives with a consistent, professional-grade selection. If your team has specific preferences around knife profiles, handle weight, or you need to build a more tailored set, we are happy to talk it through.
£159.00(£190.80 inc VAT)
The Global G-38 is a diamond-coated sharpening steel designed to maintain a working edge on professional knives between full sharpenings. Unlike smooth or grooved steels that primarily realign the blade, the diamond surface removes a small amount of material with each pass, making it effective at restoring edges that have genuinely dulled through regular use. It is a practical everyday maintenance tool rather than a replacement for periodic whetstone or professional sharpening.
In a working kitchen, knife sharpness is a matter of both safety and efficiency. A blade that has lost its edge mid-prep slows service and increases the risk of slipping cuts. Having a reliable steel to hand means staff can bring a knife back to working condition quickly without reaching for a replacement or stepping away from the pass. The diamond coating handles this consistently across a range of blade types, including harder high-carbon alloys of the kind found throughout the Global knife range.
- Restores dulled edges between full sharpenings without specialist technique
- Diamond surface suits harder steel alloys, including high-carbon blades
- Practical size for most chef's knife lengths
- Robust construction consistent with the wider Global professional range
- Compact enough for a knife roll, magnetic strip, or bench storage
It is worth being clear about what this tool is and is not. The G-38 works best as part of a regular maintenance routine and is not intended to recover a chipped or heavily damaged edge — that requires a whetstone or a professional regrind. Used consistently and correctly, it will extend the time between full sharpenings and keep knives performing well through service.
Well suited to professional kitchens, catering colleges, and any operation where Global or comparable hard-steel knives are in daily use. If you are working out how best to maintain your knife kit, we are happy to talk it through before you order.
£66.14(£79.37 inc VAT)
The Global 333036 is a wall-mounted single fan controller designed specifically for use with Global ceiling fans, including the HW948, HW949 and HW950 models. It provides straightforward control over fan speed and allows the operator to reverse the direction of rotation — a practical feature for switching between warm-air circulation in winter and cooling airflow in summer.
In a commercial kitchen or front-of-house environment, being able to adjust fan behaviour quickly without specialist tools matters. This controller allows staff to dial in the right speed for the conditions and reverse the fan direction seasonally, without any need to access the fan unit itself. The metal construction keeps it durable under the daily wear expected in busy catering environments.
Key operational advantages include:
- Speed control adjustable directly from the wall-mounted unit
- Reverse function enables year-round use of the ceiling fan
- Compatible with Global HW948, HW949 and HW950 ceiling fans
- Compact metal housing suited to kitchen and dining environments
- Simple operation requires no specialist knowledge from staff
Installation requires compatibility with one of the three supported Global fan models — it is not a universal controller and should not be assumed to work with other brands or fan ranges. As with any electrical wall-mounted control, fitting should be carried out by a qualified electrician in line with current UK wiring regulations.
This controller is well suited to operators who already have a compatible Global ceiling fan installed and need a reliable, dedicated wall control. If you are specifying a ceiling fan system from scratch or are unsure whether your existing fan is compatible, it is worth checking before purchasing.
If you would like to confirm compatibility with your current setup or discuss ceiling fan control options, the team is happy to help.
£71.65(£85.98 inc VAT)
This Global fan controller is a wall-mounted control unit designed to manage up to five compatible Global ceiling fans from a single point. It gives the operator direct adjustment of fan speed and the ability to reverse fan direction — useful for switching between airflow modes depending on season or the demands of the space.
In a commercial setting, being able to control multiple ceiling fans centrally saves time during setup and means staff aren't adjusting individual units during a busy service. The reverse function is particularly practical in larger spaces such as function rooms, covered outdoor areas, or high-ceilinged kitchens, where airflow direction can make a meaningful difference to comfort and temperature distribution.
From an operational standpoint, the unit offers straightforward benefits:
- Centralised control of up to five fans reduces reliance on individual unit adjustments
- Reverse function supports both cooling and air circulation modes
- Compact wall-mount design keeps installation tidy and accessible
- Metal construction is robust enough for day-to-day commercial use
Installation is straightforward for a competent electrician. The unit is compatible with Global ceiling fans HW948, HW949, and HW950 — it is important to confirm compatibility before purchasing if you are retrofitting this controller to an existing fan installation. It will not work with fans outside this range.
This controller suits operators running multiple ceiling fans in a single zone who want consolidated control without complexity. If you are managing fans across several independent zones or a larger installation, it is worth discussing the setup with us before ordering to make sure this is the right solution.
If you have questions about compatibility with your existing fans or how to wire this into your current setup, our team is happy to talk it through.
£128.00(£153.60 inc VAT)
The Global G48 is a 17.8cm santoku knife with a fluted blade edge, part of Global's long-running professional knife range. The santoku profile — shorter and wider than a traditional chef's knife — makes it a practical all-round choice for slicing, dicing, and chopping across a wide range of ingredients. The hollow-ground flutes along the blade create small air pockets that reduce surface drag, helping thin slices release cleanly rather than sticking to the blade face.
In a busy prep environment, that combination of a manageable blade length and reduced drag makes the G48 a reliable daily workhorse. It handles everything from fine vegetable brunoise to breaking down proteins with reasonable ease, and the balanced weight distribution in the hollow stainless handle suits chefs who spend long periods on prep without wanting a heavy knife in hand.
Global knives are constructed from a single piece of CROMOVA 18 stainless steel, which contributes to both hygiene and durability. There are no handle joints or rivets where food debris can accumulate, which is a practical advantage in a professional setting where cleaning thoroughness matters.
- Fluted blade reduces surface sticking during fine slicing work
- Single-piece stainless construction with no join points for cleaner hygiene
- Hollow weighted handle designed for balance during extended prep sessions
- Versatile santoku profile suits a wide range of cutting tasks
The G48 is well suited to chefs who prefer a shorter, more manoeuvrable knife for prep-heavy work. It sits within the mid-range of Global's professional line — the range extends both lighter and heavier depending on preferred weight and intended use. If you're building out a knife kit or are unsure which profile suits your prep style best, we're happy to talk it through.
