Cambro ICS125L Ice Caddy with Sliding Lid – Slate Blue
£463.00(£555.60 inc VAT)
The Cambro ICS125L is a large-capacity insulated ice caddy designed for mobile ice distribution in commercial catering environments. Built from a rotomoulded shell with thick CFC-free foam insulation, it is intended to keep ice frozen for extended periods without the structural degradation — cracking, denting, or rusting — that affects lower-quality alternatives. The slate blue colour coding can help with service organisation where multiple caddies are in use across a site.
In practice, this caddy is well suited to service environments where ice needs to travel from a central production or storage point to service stations, bars, or buffet lines. The sliding lid design is a practical detail: rather than lifting a lid completely clear and finding somewhere to put it during service, the lid slides back and underneath the unit, keeping the opening accessible whilst staying attached. A recessed interior well and drain shelf help separate ice from meltwater, which supports hygiene and reduces the risk of cross-contamination during service.
- Sliding lid stays with the unit during service — no separate lid to manage or misplace
- Rotomoulded construction resists impact, suitable for repeated transport and outdoor use
- Drain shelf keeps ice above meltwater for cleaner dispensing
- Moulded-in ergonomic handles support safe lifting and manoeuvring
- Low-profile slant-top design fits under prep tables and counters when not in use
There are no electrical or plumbing requirements — the caddy is entirely passive and relies on insulation alone to maintain ice. It is not a replacement for a dedicated ice machine and assumes ice is loaded from an existing production source. On very high-volume sites running continuous ice service across multiple stations, it is worth considering whether a larger-capacity or multi-caddy approach is more practical.
This caddy suits hotels, event caterers, outdoor hospitality operators, and any site that needs reliable ice transport away from a fixed machine. If you are unsure whether the capacity fits your service volume or how best to integrate it into your workflow, the team is happy to talk it through.

Frequently asked questions
How long will this caddy keep ice frozen during service?
The thick foam insulation is designed to hold ice for extended periods under normal ambient conditions, though exact hold times depend on ambient temperature, how frequently the lid is opened, and the ratio of ice to meltwater. For outdoor summer events or high-traffic service where the lid is opened repeatedly, it is realistic to plan for refills over a long service period rather than assuming a single load will last all day.
Is this caddy suitable for outdoor events and all-weather use?
Yes — the rotomoulded construction and foam core are designed to perform in outdoor conditions without deteriorating. It is a common choice for event caterers, outdoor receptions, and hotel garden service where equipment needs to travel and cope with variable weather.
Can this replace an ice machine, or does it need to work alongside one?
The ICS125L is a transport and holding caddy, not an ice-making unit — it requires ice to be loaded from an existing machine or supply. It is best thought of as the link between your ice production point and your service stations, rather than a standalone solution.
