The Beaumont Solo is a single-measure optic designed to dispense 35.5ml of spirits consistently and cleanly. It fits onto standard spirit bottles and uses Beaumont's well-regarded non-drip mechanism to prevent wastage between pours. This version is unstamped, meaning it has not been certified by Trading Standards for use in licensed premises where weights and measures legislation applies — it is suitable for staff training, private use, or environments where legal-for-trade certification is not required.

In a busy bar environment, consistency and speed matter. The non-drip design helps keep the bar surface clean during service and reduces product loss over a shift. The stainless steel and plastic construction is practical for daily use and straightforward to keep clean.

  • Non-drip mechanism reduces spillage and product waste during service
  • Consistent 35.5ml delivery supports portion control
  • Durable stainless steel and plastic construction suits daily bar use
  • Fits standard spirit bottle necks for straightforward installation

Because this measure is unstamped, it cannot be used legally for retail sale of spirits on licensed premises in the UK — for that application, you would need a stamped, weights-and-measures approved version. If you are unsure which specification is correct for your venue, it is worth checking your licensing requirements before ordering.

The Solo suits smaller bars, training environments, and private venues where a reliable, clean-dispensing measure is needed without the requirement for legal-for-trade certification. For higher-volume operations or those requiring stamped measures, alternatives are available within the range.

If you have questions about measure specifications or licensing requirements, the team is happy to help you choose correctly.

Frequently asked questions

What does 'unstamped' mean and does it affect how I can use this measure?

An unstamped measure has not been certified by Trading Standards under UK weights and measures legislation. This means it cannot legally be used to serve and charge customers for spirits on a licensed premise. It is suitable for staff training, private events, or any setting where legal-for-trade compliance is not required. If you need a measure for retail service in a licensed venue, you will need a stamped, approved version.

How does the non-drip mechanism work in practice during service?

The non-drip design uses an internal valve that closes off the flow between pours, preventing spirits from dripping onto the bar between uses. In practice this helps keep the bar surface cleaner during a busy shift and reduces the small but cumulative product loss that can occur with a standard optic over the course of an evening.

Is 35.5ml the right measure size for my operation?

35.5ml is a recognised single spirit measure in the UK, though permitted measure sizes are 25ml and 35ml for stamped measures under current legislation — which is worth noting if you are considering this for a licensed context. For unstamped and training purposes 35.5ml is a common working size. If you are unsure which measure size suits your venue's requirements, it is worth speaking with us before ordering.
