The Libbey Pannello is a mid-sized beverage glass designed for bar and restaurant service. It holds 473ml, making it a practical all-rounder for soft drinks, iced cocktails, and long mixed drinks. The glass features a subtle embossed linear pattern around the body — enough to give it a distinct appearance on the bar without overshadowing the drink itself.
In a busy service environment, glassware takes a significant amount of daily handling. The Pannello is constructed from soda-lime glass, which balances reasonable durability with the clarity that operators expect in a front-of-house setting. The stacking design is a practical consideration — it reduces the footprint on back-bar shelving and speeds up putting-away after a dishwasher cycle.
- Stackable design aids efficient storage behind the bar or in glass racks
- Dishwasher safe, reducing turnaround time during and after service
- Covered by Libbey's Safedge rim guarantee, offering reassurance against rim chipping
- Sold in packs of 12, suiting establishments that need to build or replenish a working stock
These glasses are well suited to casual dining restaurants, pub bars, and cocktail venues that want a presentable, functional glass without the fragility of something more decorative. For very high-volume venues with heavy turnover, it is worth considering whether a thicker-walled or fully tempered option would better suit the pace of service.
If you are unsure how many packs to order for your cover count, or whether this glass suits your bar setup, the team is happy to advise.
Frequently asked questions
How many packs do I need to order for a typical bar or restaurant service?
A common starting point is three to four glasses per cover to allow for glasses in use, in the wash, and in reserve. For a 40-cover venue, three to four packs of 12 would typically provide a working buffer, though high-turnover bars or venues without a glasswasher close to the bar may need more.
Are these glasses suitable for use in a commercial glasswasher?
Yes, the Pannello glasses are dishwasher safe and are designed to withstand the temperatures and detergents used in commercial glasswashers. Using a rinse aid and ensuring the machine is correctly set up will help maintain clarity and reduce water spotting over time.
What does the Libbey Safedge rim guarantee actually cover?
Libbey's Safedge guarantee specifically addresses rim chipping, which is one of the most common reasons commercial glassware is taken out of service. It provides reassurance that the rim has been manufactured and treated to reduce chipping under normal commercial handling — though it does not cover breakage from impact or misuse.
