These white melamine square trays from Churchill are a practical addition to buffet and display setups in hotels, contract catering, event venues, and similar hospitality environments. Each tray is 303x303mm — a workable square format that suits individual portion displays, condiment arrangements, or grouped food presentations on a buffet counter.
Melamine is a well-established material in catering service for good reason. It holds its appearance under repeated use, resists staining from common food and beverage contact, and is fully food safe for ambient and chilled displays. These trays are part of Churchill's broader buffet range, so they sit alongside the brand's ceramic and wood serveware pieces without looking mismatched — useful where a consistent presentation style matters across the counter.
From a practical standpoint, the trays offer a few clear operational advantages:
- Dishwasher safe, supporting efficient turnover during and between service periods
- Neat stacking when stored, keeping back-of-house space tidy
- Durable enough for frequent handling without showing wear quickly
- White finish works across most presentation styles without clashing
- Supplied as a pack of four, giving reasonable cover for a single station
It is worth noting that melamine should not be used in microwave ovens or for hot food service directly from a heat source — these trays are suited to ambient or chilled display rather than as heated serving vessels.
They are well suited to smaller buffet stations, breakfast service setups, or grab-and-go displays. Operators running larger counters or high-turnover formats may want to consider buying in greater quantity to allow for rotation through the dishwasher without gaps in cover.
If you are building out a broader buffet display and want to check compatibility with other Churchill pieces in the range, the team is happy to help.
£127.00(£152.40 inc VAT)
These rectangular white melamine trays from Churchill are a practical choice for buffet lines, catering displays, and front-of-house food presentation. Straightforward in purpose, they provide a clean, neutral surface for displaying chilled or ambient food items during service without the fragility or weight concerns associated with ceramic alternatives.
Melamine is a well-established material in commercial catering for good reason. It holds up under repeated use, resists staining from sauces and dressings, and maintains a consistent appearance across multiple services. These trays are designed to complement Churchill's broader buffet and serveware range, which makes it straightforward to build a cohesive display across different serving formats without mismatched aesthetics.
From an operational standpoint, they offer a number of practical advantages for busy catering environments:
- Dishwasher-safe construction supports efficient turnaround between services
- Stackable design keeps storage compact when trays are not in use
- Neutral white finish works with a wide range of food colours and presentation styles
- Food-safe material suitable for direct contact with chilled or ambient food
- Supplied in a pack of two, reducing the cost per unit for initial setups
These trays are best suited to hotels, conference venues, contract caterers, and event catering operations where buffet presentation is a regular requirement. For operations running very high-volume or extended buffet service, it is worth considering whether a larger tray format or a greater quantity would better suit the throughput and replenishment frequency involved.
If you are building out a full buffet display or matching these to other Churchill serveware, we are happy to talk through what works well together — feel free to get in touch with the team.
£7.65(£9.18 inc VAT)
The APS Loops sushi board is a rectangular melamine serving board designed for presenting sushi, sharing plates, and similar table or buffet service. The two-tone finish — dark outer with a contrasting blue centre — gives it a clean, contemporary look that works well on both laid table covers and self-service buffet runs.
Melamine is a practical material choice for commercial tableware. It handles the knocks and stacking of a busy service environment better than ceramic or porcelain alternatives, and it keeps its appearance over time without chipping or crazing in normal use. The board is dishwasher safe, which keeps turnaround between services straightforward.
- Durable melamine construction resists chipping and cracking in daily service
- Dishwasher safe for quick turnaround between covers
- Two-tone blue finish suits contemporary and Asian-inspired table presentations
- Suitable for both hot and cold service within normal serving temperature ranges
- Consistent sizing makes stacking and storage practical in smaller prep areas
It is worth noting that melamine is not suitable for microwave use, and like all melamine tableware it should not be used in an oven. It is a front-of-house serving piece rather than a cooking or holding vessel.
This board is well suited to restaurants, hotel food and beverage operations, and catering companies offering Japanese, fusion, or sharing-plate menus. It works equally well on a buffet table as it does as a plated presentation piece for individual covers. If you are fitting out a larger buffet operation or need boards in significant quantity, it is worth talking through sizing options and volume pricing with the team.
If you are unsure whether this fits your service style or you are looking to build out a coordinated tableware range, feel free to get in touch — it helps to understand the setting before committing to quantity.
£12.34(£14.81 inc VAT)
The APS Loops tray is a compact melamine serving piece from APS's Loops range, finished with a black outer surround and a blue centre. It's a straightforward, functional tray designed for presenting and serving food in commercial settings — suitable for buffet lines, café counters, and casual dining covers where a consistent, modern look is needed across a table or display.
Melamine is a practical choice for this kind of service. It handles the knocks and stacking that come with high-turnover environments without chipping the way ceramic would, and the finish holds up well through regular dishwasher cycles. The tray is heat-resistant for serving warm foods, though it isn't intended for oven or heated-cabinet use — it's a serving and presentation piece rather than a cooking vessel.
In operational terms, the Loops tray offers a few clear advantages for front-of-house teams:
- Consistent colour and finish supports a coordinated buffet or display presentation
- Lightweight construction makes it easy to handle during busy service
- Dishwasher-safe for quick turnaround between sittings
- Durable melamine resists chipping and cracking under everyday commercial use
This size works well for individual portions, small sharing plates, or as part of a tiered buffet display. It's well suited to cafés, hotel breakfast operations, events catering, and deli-style counters. If you're setting up a larger buffet spread and need a bigger footprint, larger formats within the same range may be worth considering.
If you're unsure how this tray fits into your wider table or display setup, we're happy to talk it through.
From £18.74(£22.49 inc VAT)
The APS Blush melamine serving tray is a gastronorm-sized tray for food presentation and buffet display. Its ribbed surface and soft blush colouring give it a contemporary look that works on buffet counters, sharing tables and display spreads without extra dressing.
Melamine handles the knocks of daily service better than ceramic or porcelain, and the trays are lightweight and easy to reposition during service or when restocking. The GN sizing means they sit neatly alongside standard gastronorm equipment and display risers.
Available in three sizes, chosen from the dropdown: GN 1/1 (530 x 325mm), GN 1/2 (325 x 265mm) and GN 2/4 (530 x 162mm).
- Shatterproof melamine suited to regular hospitality use
- Ribbed texture and blush finish, consistent across the Blush range
- Lightweight and easy to handle during service
- Buffet and self-service display, sharing platters, charcuterie, cheese and bread service
- Easy to wipe down between services
Melamine is for cold or ambient serving only. These trays are not suitable for oven, microwave or direct heat use. Check the manufacturer's guidance before putting them through a dishwasher.
They suit hotels, restaurants, cafes and event caterers who want a coordinated buffet or table look. For help with sizes and quantities, call the team on 01304 827272.
£118.00(£141.60 inc VAT)
The Steelite Salinas platter is a melamine serving piece finished in a neutral taupe with subtle russet-toned detailing and a concentric ring pattern around the rim. At 356 x 203mm it sits in a practical mid-size range — large enough to carry a composed sharing portion or a small selection of items, without being unwieldy in a busy service environment. This listing covers a pack of six.
Melamine is the material of choice for a number of outdoor and casual dining settings precisely because it withstands the knocks and drops that porcelain cannot. The Salinas range is BPA-free and lightweight enough to be handed to front-of-house staff without concern, while the neutral finish sits well alongside most existing tableware schemes without demanding a full crockery overhaul.
In operational terms, this platter is well suited to:
- Outdoor terrace, rooftop, and patio dining where breakage risk is a genuine concern
- Buffet and sharing-plate service where a composed, presentable platter is needed
- Poolside, events catering, and marquee settings
- Any venue looking to reduce crockery breakage costs without sacrificing the appearance of the table
It is worth being clear about the limitations. Melamine is not suitable for microwave or oven use, and it should not be used in a commercial dishwasher at very high temperatures over prolonged periods, as this will affect the finish over time. It is a front-of-house serving piece rather than a cooking or heated display vessel.
The Salinas platter is most appropriate for casual dining venues, outdoor hospitality settings, and event caterers who need a presentable, practical serving piece in volume. If you need a larger platter for sharing boards or a smaller size for individual presentations, the Salinas range includes other formats that may be a closer fit.
If you're putting together a tableware package or want to check whether this size works for the style of service you're planning, we're happy to talk it through.
£129.00(£154.80 inc VAT)
The Steelite Blue Dapple rectangular tray is a melamine serving tray finished with a white body and a faded royal blue rim. It sits within Steelite's Blue Dapple collection, which is designed to coordinate easily with a range of existing tableware rather than demand a complete scheme change. The 305 x 191mm format gives a useful serving footprint without being unwieldy for front-of-house staff to handle during busy service.
Melamine at this quality level performs well across a wide range of food service settings. The material is break-resistant under normal commercial use, which makes these trays a practical choice wherever crockery breakage is a concern — outdoor terraces, rooftop bars, poolside service, or high-turnover casual dining environments where trays are handled repeatedly throughout a shift. They hold up reliably against the kind of knocks and drops that would chip or shatter ceramic alternatives.
- Break-resistant melamine construction handles regular commercial use
- Coordinates with existing tableware through a neutral blue dapple finish
- Suitable for both hot and cold food presentation
- BPA-free and dishwasher safe for straightforward end-of-service cleaning
- Sold in a pack of 12, practical for stocking multiple service points
These trays are well suited to casual dining, buffet and display setups, and any operation that extends service to outdoor spaces where tableware durability matters. They are not intended to replace full presentation platters for fine dining, but for mid-market and informal venues they offer a consistent, presentable finish without the replacement costs associated with ceramic or porcelain.
If you are building out a buffet display or setting up a new outdoor service area and want to discuss quantities or how these trays sit alongside other Steelite pieces, the team is happy to help you put together a coherent setup.
From £45.59(£54.71 inc VAT)
The Steelite Quarry rectangular trays are gastronorm-sized melamine serving trays finished with a stone-effect decal that gives a textured, rustic look. They are sold in packs of two and suit buffet lines, carvery displays and cold or ambient food presentation where a natural look suits the setting.
Melamine is break resistant under normal handling, which matters where trays move often between stations, counters and storage. The stone-effect finish gives the look of slate or ceramic without the weight or fragility.
Available in four sizes, chosen from the dropdown, each as a pack of two: GN 1/1, GN 1/2, GN 1/3 and GN 2/4.
- GN sizing fits standard buffet counter and gastronorm display formats
- Break-resistant melamine body reduces replacement compared with ceramic
- BPA-free construction suitable for direct food contact
- Dishwasher safe
- Sold as a pair, so one can be in service while the other is washed
Not for use in ovens or microwaves. Check the manufacturer's guidance before using them for hot food. They suit hotels, event caterers, carvery restaurants, cafes and contract catering running regular buffet service.
For help with sizes and quantities, call the team on 01304 827272.
£93.36(£112.03 inc VAT)
The Steelite Quarry round platters are part of the Creations Melamine range — a line designed specifically for food service environments where presentation matters but durability cannot be compromised. Each platter features a stone-effect decal finish that gives food displays a considered, rustic aesthetic without the fragility or weight of actual slate or ceramic. At 349mm in diameter, they offer a practical serving footprint suitable for a range of buffet and display applications. Supplied in a pack of three.
In a busy service environment, melamine has a clear practical advantage over ceramic or stoneware equivalents — it is highly resistant to breakage, which matters when platters are being handled repeatedly during setup, service, and clearing. The Quarry platters are also safe for use with both hot and cold foods, and the BPA-free construction means they meet food safety requirements without reservation. They are dishwasher safe, which keeps turnaround straightforward during multi-sitting events.
- Break-resistant melamine body suited to high-turnover service
- Stone-effect finish for considered buffet and display presentation
- Safe for use with hot and cold foods
- BPA-free construction meets food safety requirements
- Dishwasher safe for quick turnaround between sittings
These platters are well suited to hotels, event caterers, pub restaurants, and any operation running cold buffets, afternoon teas, or sharing-plate presentations. The 349mm size works comfortably as a centrepiece platter or as part of a tiered display arrangement. For operations needing a larger display surface or a different format, alternative sizes and shapes are available within the Quarry range.
If you are building out a buffet range and want to make sure the sizes and quantities work for your service style, the team is happy to help you think it through.
£72.50(£87.00 inc VAT)
The Portico range from Steelite Creations is a line of melamine serveware finished to resemble natural stone, with a soft beige, pebble-like surface that sits comfortably alongside both contemporary and traditional table settings. These 214x137mm trays are the smaller format in the range, sized for individual portions, accompaniments, tasting plates, and appetisers rather than centrepiece sharing boards.
Melamine at this quality level performs well in the kind of repetitive, high-turnover service where ceramic would carry real breakage risk. The material is impact-resistant and holds up reliably on buffet counters, pass-throughs, and table service situations where trays are handled frequently throughout a shift. The stone-effect finish is applied to the surface rather than printed, which helps it maintain its appearance with regular use and dishwasher cycling.
For operators running buffet service, weekend brunch, or small-plates menus, these trays offer a few practical advantages worth noting:
- Break-resistant melamine reduces replacement costs over ceramic alternatives
- Lightweight format is comfortable to handle at pace during busy service
- Dishwasher safe, supporting efficient turnaround between covers
- Neutral stone-effect finish presents food cleanly without competing with the dish
- Supplied in a pack of six, which suits initial trials or topping up existing stock
It is worth being clear that these are serving trays rather than plates — they are well suited to displaying or transporting small portions, but the relatively shallow profile means they are not intended for dishes with significant liquid content. They work best in dry or semi-dry presentation roles.
The Portico range is a sensible fit for restaurants, hotels, event caterers, and casual dining operators looking for consistent presentation without the fragility of ceramic. If you are building out a full buffet display or need guidance on quantities for a particular service format, the team is happy to help you work through the requirements.
£120.00(£144.00 inc VAT)
The Churchill Alchemy rectangular buffet board is a solid acacia wood serving board designed for front-of-house food presentation in professional hospitality settings. Supplied in packs of four, it is intended for displaying canapés, pastries, charcuterie, cheese, and similar items where the appearance of the service point carries real weight alongside the food itself.
Acacia wood is a dependable choice for this kind of work. It is dense enough to feel substantial on a buffet table and the natural grain gives a warm, clean look that sits comfortably in both formal event settings and more relaxed bistro or café environments. The boards are food-safe treated, meaning they can be used in direct food contact without additional liners, which saves a small but useful amount of time during service setup.
A few practical points worth noting for operators:
- Food-safe treated surface — no liner required during food display
- Sustainably sourced acacia wood, certified for recycling at end of life
- Smooth, flat surface supports neat arrangement of multiple items
- Consistent sizing across the pack allows uniform buffet table layouts
- Durable wood construction holds up well through regular hospitality use
There are no installation requirements — the boards are ready to use straight from the pack. As with all wooden service ware, they should be hand-washed and dried promptly after use. Prolonged submersion or repeated commercial dishwasher cycles can cause warping over time, so a hand-wash routine is strongly advisable. Storage space for packs of four is worth planning for, particularly in tighter back-of-house areas.
These boards are well suited to hotels, event caterers, restaurants, and private dining operations running regular buffet or reception service. For very high-volume operations rotating boards through multiple sittings in a single day, it is worth calculating how many packs are needed to allow adequate rest and drying time between uses. Churchill's Alchemy range extends to a range of complementary serveware formats for operators building a coordinated display.
If you are putting together a full buffet setup or want to talk through how these boards fit alongside other Alchemy pieces, the team is glad to help you work it through.
£99.78(£119.74 inc VAT)
The Churchill Alchemy wooden presentation boards are natural hardwood serving boards designed for buffet and canapé displays. Each board in this four-pack measures 342x160mm, making them a practical choice for structured, modular table presentations where a consistent look matters.
In a hospitality or event catering environment, presentation boards like these earn their place by giving operators a straightforward way to build cohesive food displays without elaborate setup. The natural hardwood finish works well alongside both rustic and contemporary tableware, and the manageable size means individual boards can be repositioned or refreshed during service without disrupting the wider layout.
- Natural hardwood finish suits a range of table presentation styles
- Compact footprint allows flexible arrangement in modular buffet layouts
- Sold as a four-pack, providing consistency across a display
- Suitable for cold canapés, charcuterie, cheese, and bread presentations
- Easy to wipe down and reposition between service periods
These boards are not intended for use with hot food or direct heat, and hardwood requires hand-washing rather than dishwasher cycles to maintain the surface over time. They are best suited to front-of-house buffet displays, event catering, and hotel food service rather than high-volume pass or kitchen environments.
For operators running larger-scale events or requiring a greater number of boards per service, it is worth considering whether a larger board format or higher quantity would better suit the layout. If you are building out a full buffet display and are unsure which combination of boards and risers works best together, our team is happy to talk through the options.
£27.03(£32.44 inc VAT)
This 300mm paddle board from APS is a melamine serving board finished in an oak wood effect, shaped with a round handle for easy carrying and presentation. It is designed for serving pizza by the slice, flatbreads, charcuterie, and similar dishes where a rustic, natural-looking board adds to the presentation without the maintenance demands of real wood.
Melamine construction means it holds up well in busy service environments. Unlike genuine wood boards, it will not warp, crack, or absorb odours over time, and it goes straight into a commercial dishwasher without any special treatment. The boards are stackable, which makes storage straightforward when covers change or service ends.
- Dishwasher safe — no hand-washing or oiling required
- Stackable for compact storage between services
- Oak effect finish suits rustic, casual dining, and pizza-focused concepts
- Melamine resists warping, staining, and odour absorption
- Lightweight and easy to carry for table-side presentation
These boards are well suited to pizza restaurants, gastro pubs, casual dining operations, and buffet setups where food presentation matters but turnaround is fast. They work equally well for a fixed table service style or a self-serve buffet counter. For high-volume buffet lines requiring larger serving surface areas, boards in larger sizes or different formats may be worth considering.
If you are building out a pizza concept or refreshing your buffet presentation and want to talk through how these fit alongside other serving pieces, the team is happy to help.
£38.29(£45.95 inc VAT)
This APS paddle board offers the warm appearance of oak wood in a melamine construction built to handle the demands of regular commercial use. The handled design makes it straightforward to carry to and from service, and the rectangular format provides a practical surface for presenting charcuterie, bread, cheese, or other buffet items in a café, hotel, or event catering setting.
Melamine is a sensible choice for food presentation boards in busy environments. It resists cracking and chipping better than natural wood under daily use, holds up in dishwasher cycles, and does not absorb odours or moisture the way untreated timber can. The oak effect finish gives a more natural, tactile look on the pass or buffet table without the maintenance concerns of real wood.
- Dishwasher safe — suitable for high-turnover service environments
- Stackable design keeps storage compact between service periods
- Handled construction for easy carrying during table service or buffet replenishment
- Oak effect finish suits rustic, artisan, or natural-style presentation themes
- Melamine construction resists moisture and odour absorption
There are no special installation or preparation requirements. These boards are ready to use straight from delivery and need no conditioning or sealing. At 480mm wide they provide a generous presentation surface, though operators running high-volume buffet lines or larger sharing boards may find it worth considering a larger format from the same range.
This board is well suited to cafés, delis, hotel breakfast and evening service, private dining, and event catering operations where food presentation matters and durability under repeated cleaning is a practical requirement. It is less suited to settings where a fully food-safe solid surface is mandated by environmental health policy, in which case melamine composite construction should be confirmed as acceptable with the relevant authority.
If you are specifying boards across a larger buffet operation or are unsure which size or finish suits your service style, the team is happy to talk it through.
From £106.00(£127.20 inc VAT)
These rectangular melamine tiles are part of the Churchill Alchemy Buffet system. They give buffet counters and self-service stations a clean, consistent base for food display. Sold in packs of six, so you can build a modular layout. Choose White, or Black with a granite-effect finish.

- 258(W) x 221(D)mm
- 520g
- Pack of 6

Please confirm compatibility with your existing Alchemy frames and risers before ordering.
Not sure how many packs you need? Call us on 01304 827272.
£128.00(£153.60 inc VAT)
The Churchill Alchemy Buffet Presentation Platforms are natural acacia wood display risers designed to present individual serving bowls as part of a structured buffet layout. Each platform accommodates three bowls in a linear arrangement, and the four-piece pack gives operators enough units to build a coherent, coordinated display without sourcing additional items separately.
In practice, these platforms are used to add height variation and visual structure to cold buffet runs, carvery stations, and event catering setups. Acacia wood has a warm, natural appearance that works well in both formal dining and informal hospitality contexts, and the modular format means displays can be scaled up or reconfigured as service requirements change.
Key practical considerations for operators:
- Modular design allows platforms to be combined into larger displays or used individually
- Natural acacia hardwood provides a stable, presentable surface for front-of-house use
- Suitable for dry buffet presentations — not intended for direct food contact or wet service
- Compact footprint suits countertop buffet runs with limited available space
- Easy to reposition during service as the menu or layout changes
These platforms are best suited to hotels, event caterers, and restaurant operations running regular buffet or self-service formats. They are a practical smallware rather than a structural display system, so operators planning a large-scale permanent buffet installation may want to consider more substantial display furniture alongside them.
If you're putting together a full buffet setup and want to ensure the components work well together, we're happy to talk through your requirements.
From £63.40(£76.08 inc VAT)
These Churchill Alchemy paddle boards are handled melamine serving boards designed for buffet and breakfast service. Choose White or Granite, both with a matte finish. They are supplied in packs of four and measure 266mm wide x 140mm deep.
Melamine is chip-resistant and holds up to the daily handling of a hotel breakfast service or event catering. The handle makes the boards easy to position and reposition on a buffet run without disturbing surrounding items.
- Chip-resistant melamine for daily buffet service
- Matte White or Granite finish
- Handled design for repositioning during live service
- Coordinates with the wider Churchill Alchemy Buffet range, including the wooden risers and platforms, for tiered or varied-height displays
- Sold in packs of four, 1.52kg per pack
These boards are for countertop buffet and display use rather than plated service or pass work. They are not suitable for oven or microwave use. Please check the manufacturer's guidance on dishwasher use before ordering in volume.
Well suited to hotels, serviced venues, conference venues, contract caterers and staff restaurants. If you want help planning a display with the rest of the Alchemy Buffet range, call us on 01304 827272.
£13.90(£16.68 inc VAT)
The APS UMI is a rectangular melamine serving board for presenting sushi, finger food, small plates and appetisers in a consistent, clean format. It comes in black, a neutral contemporary finish, and in brown with a contrasting decorative interior. Both sit comfortably alongside most table settings and buffet layouts without drawing attention away from the food.
Melamine holds up well to repeated handling, resists staining from soy sauce and similar condiments, and retains its finish over time when cared for properly. The compact rectangular format works well for single-portion sushi sets, amuse-bouche, or sharing starters where controlled plating matters.
- Dishwasher safe, supporting quick turnaround between services
- Stackable design keeps storage tidy and accessible during prep
- Available in black and brown
- Lightweight construction reduces handling fatigue during busy service
These are not suited to hot food service. Melamine is a cold or ambient presentation material and should not be used in ovens, microwaves or under heat lamps. They suit sushi restaurants, hotel buffets, event catering and modern small-plates menus where presentation consistency matters across multiple covers.
If you are equipping a larger operation and are weighing up quantities or a broader smallwares package, the team is happy to help you think through what works for your service style.
£11.91(£14.29 inc VAT)
The APS UMI is a compact rectangular melamine serving board for presenting sushi, finger food, small plates and appetisers, available in black and brown. Both finishes have a clean, contemporary look that sits comfortably in restaurant, hotel and event catering environments without drawing attention away from the food.
Made from melamine, the board holds up well in busy front-of-house use. It resists chipping and surface staining better than ceramic alternatives at this size, and better than natural wood, which can warp or need ongoing maintenance. The compact footprint suits individual covers, tasting menus, sharing platters passed during events, or structured buffet displays.
- Dishwasher safe for quick turnaround between service periods
- Stackable design reduces storage space requirements
- Available in black and brown
- Lightweight enough for efficient front-of-house handling
- Suitable for sushi, small plates, canapés and desserts
At 285x115mm the board suits individual portions or paired items rather than larger sharing portions. Operators planning group sharing or platter service may prefer the larger UMI sizes.
If you are building out a smallwares package or matching boards across a menu concept, the team are happy to help you think through quantities and presentation formats before you order.
£17.86(£21.43 inc VAT)
The APS UMI is a rectangular melamine serving board for presenting sushi, finger food, appetisers and small plates in a clean, contemporary style, available in black and brown. Both finishes are neutral and versatile, sitting comfortably alongside most table settings and buffet presentations without drawing attention away from the food.
The melamine construction resists chipping and staining better than ceramic alternatives of a similar price point, and holds its appearance through regular dishwasher cleaning without significant fading or warping. For canapé service, tasting menus, sushi counters or sharing-plate concepts, the format works as both a serving and a display surface.
- Dishwasher safe for quick turnaround between covers
- Stackable design makes back-of-house storage straightforward
- Durable melamine resists chipping under everyday hospitality use
- Available in black and brown
- Practical size for individual or two-person sharing portions
Melamine should not be used in a microwave or conventional oven, so it is suited to ambient or chilled plating only.
This board suits restaurants, hotels, event caterers and food-to-go operations that need a reliable, presentable serving surface at a sensible cost. Those needing larger serving formats may prefer a wider or deeper board from the range.
If you are building out a new service concept and want to talk through which sizes and formats would work best across your menu, we are happy to help.
£9.93(£11.92 inc VAT)
The APS The Grid is a natural slate serving tray designed for structured buffet and cold food presentation. Its GN 1/2 footprint makes it compatible with standard buffet systems and countertop setups, and six integrated circular cut-outs allow bowls or inserts to sit securely within the tray rather than moving during service.
Slate performs well in chilled service contexts. The surface holds a low temperature when pre-cooled, which helps maintain the freshness of cold dishes such as salads, appetisers, and desserts across a service period. Each piece carries natural tonal variation, so no two trays are identical — something that tends to work well in open buffet and sharing-style food presentations where visual character matters.
From an operational standpoint, the tray suits a range of front-of-house formats:
- GN 1/2 format integrates with standard buffet risers and display systems
- Six cut-outs provide a fixed, organised layout for bowls or inserts
- Stackable for efficient back-of-house storage between services
- Pre-cooling the slate helps maintain cold food temperatures during service
- Natural surface texture adds presentation character without artificial finishes
Slate requires straightforward care — wipe down with a damp cloth after use. It is not dishwasher safe, so it is worth factoring that into your post-service clearing routine, particularly in high-volume buffet environments where turnaround time matters.
This tray is well suited to hotel buffets, event catering, and restaurant sharing menus where cold food presentation is a priority. If you are setting up a full buffet run or need a specific number of pieces to match a layout, it is worth getting in touch to talk through what works for your setup.
£16.12(£19.34 inc VAT)
The APS Nero tray is a rectangular melamine serving tray in a plain black finish, measuring 410x150mm. It is a practical front-of-house piece designed for presenting and carrying food and drinks in commercial settings, from casual dining and café service through to more formal table service operations.
Melamine is a well-established material in catering smallwares. It handles regular daily use reliably, resists knocks and scratches better than ceramic or glass alternatives, and holds its appearance over time when treated correctly. The black finish works across a wide range of table settings and cuisines, and tends to hide minor surface marks that would be more visible on lighter-coloured trays. The tray is heat-resistant up to 70°C, making it suitable for serving hot dishes and drinks within normal service temperatures.
From an operational standpoint, the key advantages are straightforward:
- Dishwasher-safe construction speeds up turnaround between sittings
- Lightweight melamine reduces fatigue for floor staff during longer service periods
- Consistent black finish presents well across mixed menu styles
- Durable enough for regular commercial use without frequent replacement
It is worth noting that melamine trays are not suitable for use in microwave or conventional ovens, and they should not be soaked for extended periods. Like all trays of this size, it is best used for individual covers or small sharing plates rather than as a large carrying tray for multiple dishes.
This tray suits cafés, restaurants, hotel room service, and casual dining operations looking for a reliable, presentable serving piece at a sensible price point. For operations requiring a larger tray surface or higher-volume carrying capacity, wider format options within the Nero range may be worth considering.
If you are unsure which tray size or style suits your service style, the team is happy to help you work through the options.

The APS Nero GN 1/2 tray is a melamine serving tray sized to the standard half-gastronorm footprint, finished in a neutral sand colour that sits comfortably alongside contemporary tableware schemes. It is designed primarily for front-of-house food presentation rather than oven use, and is suitable for serving both hot and cold dishes within normal service temperature ranges.
In a catering environment, melamine trays of this type are commonly used for buffet presentation, sharing dishes, antipasti, bread service, and cold starters. The GN 1/2 format integrates neatly with standard buffet risers, display stands, and chafing configurations, which simplifies setup and breakdown during service. The sand finish is practical in that it tends to show less surface wear over time than darker or high-gloss alternatives.
- GN 1/2 format fits standard buffet and display systems
- Dishwasher safe for straightforward turnaround between services
- Neutral sand finish works across a range of presentation styles
- Melamine construction is robust under regular commercial handling
- Suitable for both hot and cold food presentation during service
These trays are well suited to restaurants, hotels, event caterers, and deli counters where consistent, presentable serving vessels are needed in volume. They are not intended for oven or microwave use, and operators should be aware of the heat resistance limits when placing trays near chafing equipment or heat lamps for extended periods.
If you are building out a buffet range or matching these to existing APS Nero pieces, the team is happy to advise on quantities and compatible items before you order.

The APS Frostfire tray is a half gastronorm aluminium tray finished in black, designed to move between freezing, cooking and serving without needing a change of vessel. The black coating gives it a clean, presentable appearance that suits front-of-house display as well as back-of-house prep.
In practice, aluminium distributes heat evenly across the base, which is useful when preparing dishes where consistent temperature matters. The same tray can go straight from cold storage to the oven and then onto a buffet or pass, which reduces handling and the number of vessels in circulation during a busy service.
- Moves from freezer to oven without switching trays
- Even heat distribution suits delicate and temperature-sensitive dishes
- Black finish is presentable for buffet and display use
- Lightweight aluminium keeps handling quick and practical
- GN 1/2 sizing fits standard gastronorm shelving and counters
Being a GN 1/2 format, these trays fit standard gastronorm shelving, bain-maries and countertop displays without modification. They stack neatly in storage, which matters when space is limited. The lightweight construction reduces fatigue during repeated handling, though operators using them regularly at high temperatures should ensure they are compatible with their existing oven and chiller configurations.
These trays are well suited to catering operations, buffet-style service, deli counters and smaller kitchens where versatility and a tidy presentation are both priorities. For high-volume operations requiring deeper capacity or larger formats, other sizes within the Frostfire range may be more appropriate.
If you are unsure whether this tray is the right fit for your setup or service style, the team is happy to help you work it out.

The APS Nero GN 1/1 tray is a melamine serving tray in a neutral sand finish, sized to the standard full gastronorm footprint. It is designed for food presentation and service in catering environments where a consistent, modern table aesthetic matters alongside practical everyday durability.
Melamine trays of this type are widely used across buffet service, hotel breakfast operations, staff restaurants, and café counter service. The sand colourway works well against a range of tableware and food presentations without drawing attention away from the dish itself. The tray handles both hot and cold dishes and is suited to the pace of regular service rotations.
- Melamine construction resists chipping and cracking under normal service conditions
- Neutral sand finish suits a wide range of food presentation styles
- GN 1/1 sizing integrates with standard gastronorm counters and display setups
- Dishwasher-safe for straightforward turnaround between service periods
- Suitable for both hot and cold food presentation
Melamine trays are not intended for oven or microwave use, and the heat tolerance is suited to holding and presentation rather than direct cooking or prolonged exposure to high temperatures. For operations running very high tray volumes, it is worth considering quantity requirements carefully to allow for cleaning cycles.
This tray is a practical choice for buffet and counter service operations looking for a reliable, presentable serving piece that fits neatly into an existing gastronorm workflow. If you are fitting out a larger operation or need guidance on quantities, the team is happy to help you work through what makes sense.
