Ice N Clean Ice Machine Cleaner & Disinfectant 5Ltr
£60.63(£72.76 inc VAT)
Ice N Clean is a concentrated cleaner and disinfectant formulated specifically for commercial ice machines. Its acidic formula targets the limescale deposits that build up on ice-making components over time — a common issue in areas with moderately hard to very hard water supplies, which covers much of the UK.
Left untreated, limescale accumulation restricts water flow, reduces ice production efficiency, and places unnecessary strain on components. Alongside limescale, the warm, damp internal environment of an ice machine encourages the growth of slime-forming bacteria and biofilm, which can affect both the taste and odour of the ice produced. Regular treatment with a purpose-made cleaner addresses both problems in a single process.
Using Ice N Clean as part of a routine maintenance schedule helps to:
- Break down and remove heavy limescale deposits from ice-making elements and water circuits
- Eliminate slime and biofilm that can taint ice quality
- Reduce the risk of component jams and mechanical failures caused by scale build-up
- Help maintain consistent ice output through a clean, unobstructed water system
- Support compliance with food safety hygiene requirements for ice-contact surfaces
The 5-litre format is practical for sites running one or more ice machines and is appropriate for facilities carrying out routine cleans at the recommended intervals. Always follow the dilution and contact time guidance on the label, and ensure the machine is thoroughly flushed before returning to service — ice produced immediately after cleaning must be discarded.
If you are unsure about cleaning frequency for your specific machine type or water hardness, or need advice on a full ice machine maintenance programme, the team is happy to help.

Frequently asked questions
How often should I use Ice N Clean on my commercial ice machine?
Cleaning frequency depends on your water hardness and how heavily the machine is used. In hard water areas or high-output sites, a monthly clean is often appropriate, while softer water areas may allow less frequent treatment. Always refer to your ice machine manufacturer's maintenance guidance alongside the product instructions.
Is Ice N Clean safe to use on all types of commercial ice machines?
The product is designed for use on commercial ice machines generally, but it is always worth checking compatibility with your specific machine manufacturer's recommendations before use. Some machines have particular material sensitivities, and following the correct dilution ratio is important to avoid any risk of component damage.
What should I do with ice produced immediately after cleaning?
Any ice produced during the first cycle after cleaning should be discarded, and the machine should be thoroughly flushed with clean water before returning to normal service. This ensures no residual cleaner or disinfectant carries through into ice that will be used in food or drink.
