The Rubbermaid Slim Jim Paper Slot lid is a colour-coded topper designed to fit the Slim Jim Recycling Station, identifying the container for paper waste. The elongated slot opening allows sheets, card, and paper-based waste to be deposited cleanly without the need to open or handle the bin directly.

In a busy front-of-house, back-of-house, or office-adjacent catering environment, clear waste segregation at the point of disposal reduces cross-contamination between waste streams and supports compliance with recycling obligations. The blue colour coding follows widely used waste stream conventions, making it straightforward for staff to identify the correct bin without additional instruction.

  • Colour-coded blue for instant paper waste stream identification
  • Slot opening sized for paper and card without requiring bin access
  • Fits directly onto compatible Slim Jim Recycling Station containers
  • Supports waste segregation at the point of disposal
  • Helps reduce cross-contamination between recycling streams

It is worth noting that this lid is designed specifically for use with the Slim Jim Recycling Station — it is not a universal fit for other container ranges. If you are building out a full recycling station with multiple streams, matching lids in different colours are available to complete the setup.

This lid suits catering operations, staff canteens, hospitality venues, and any site where waste sorting compliance is a requirement. For higher-volume or larger-format waste station needs, deeper-capacity Slim Jim configurations may be worth considering.

If you are speccing out a waste management solution for a new site or refurbishment, we are happy to advise on the right combination of containers and lids for your setup.

Frequently asked questions

Will this lid fit any Slim Jim container, or only specific models?

This lid is designed specifically for the Rubbermaid Slim Jim Recycling Station and is not a universal fit across the broader Slim Jim container range. If you are unsure whether it is compatible with your existing containers, it is worth checking the container model before ordering.

Is blue the standard colour for paper recycling in commercial settings?

Blue is the widely adopted colour code for paper and card waste streams across UK commercial and public sector environments, so it aligns with what most staff will already recognise. If your site uses a different colour coding system, it is worth confirming your internal waste management guidelines before purchasing.

Can these lids be used as part of a multi-stream recycling station?

Yes — the Slim Jim Recycling Station range is designed to support multi-stream setups, with different lid types and colours available for various waste streams. Using matched lids across a bank of containers is a practical way to enforce waste sorting without relying on staff memory alone.
