Steelite Off Grid Studio Fire Deep Coupe Plates Ember 280mm 12 Pack
£229.00(£274.80 inc VAT)
The Fire range from Steelite's Off Grid Studio collection is designed by potter Sam Gordon and takes its inspiration from the character of wood-fired ceramics. Each piece is intentionally reactive, meaning no two plates are identical — subtle colour shifts, natural highlights, and distinctive edge detail give the range the feel of hand-crafted stoneware while retaining the consistency and durability expected from commercial tableware. The Ember colourway sits in warm, muted tones that work particularly well with rustic, contemporary, or farm-to-table dining concepts.
These deep coupe plates are well suited to a range of plated dishes. The coupe profile and deeper bowl make them practical for composed mains, pasta, risotto, or dishes with a sauce element, giving chefs the surface area to plate confidently without spillage risk during service. Supplied in a pack of twelve, they are a practical quantity for equipping a section or refreshing covers on a single table run.
From an operational standpoint, the porcelain construction is built to withstand the demands of busy service — resistant to chipping, staining, and the general wear that comes with daily handling, stacking, and machine washing. They are suitable for dishwasher, microwave, oven, and freezer use, which supports flexible kitchen workflows from prep through to pass.
- Reactive glaze finish gives each plate an individual, hand-crafted appearance
- Deep coupe profile suits sauced dishes, pasta, and composed mains
- Durable porcelain resists chipping and staining under regular commercial use
- Compatible with dishwasher, microwave, oven, and freezer
- Pack of twelve supports practical cover planning and section restocking
This range is a reasonable choice for independent restaurants, bistros, or hotel dining rooms where aesthetic consistency and durability both matter. If you are building out a full cover count or want to discuss how the Fire range fits alongside other pieces in the Off Grid Studio collection, the team is happy to help you work through the quantities and mix.

Frequently asked questions
Are these plates suitable for high-volume restaurant use?
Yes — the porcelain construction is designed to handle the daily demands of commercial service, including repeated machine washing and regular stacking. The reactive glaze is semi-matte rather than a delicate hand-painted finish, so it holds up well under normal operational conditions. For very high-volume sites turning significant covers daily, it is worth considering how many packs you will need to maintain a working buffer for breakages.
Does the reactive glaze mean there will be noticeable variation between plates?
Yes, intentionally so. The reactive glaze process means each plate will have slight differences in colour tone and edge detail — that is the defining characteristic of the Fire range. In practice, the variation is subtle enough that plates look cohesive on the table while retaining an individual, hand-crafted quality. Operators should be aware of this when ordering across multiple packs, as batches may carry small tonal differences.
What style of dishes and service concepts suit this plate best?
The deep coupe profile works well for pasta, risotto, braised dishes, and any main where a sauce or jus is part of the presentation. The Ember colourway — warm, earthy tones — tends to complement natural, rustic, or contemporary dining aesthetics rather than formal or minimalist settings. It is a popular choice for independent restaurants, farm-to-table concepts, and hotel dining rooms where the tableware is intended to contribute to the overall atmosphere.
