The Steelite Performance Flora coupe plates in aqua are 252mm high alumina vitrified tableware, sold in packs of twelve. The coupe profile — a shallow, rimless shape with a gently curved edge — gives a clean, contemporary presentation that works well for starters, mains, and dessert plating alike. The aqua colourway adds a considered point of difference to table settings without being difficult to coordinate with existing linen or glassware.

High alumina vitrified construction is the material of choice across much of the professional tableware market for good reason. It is considerably harder and more chip-resistant than standard vitrified china, which matters in environments where plates are loaded and unloaded from racks multiple times a day. In a busy restaurant or hotel dining room, the daily handling volume is significant, and tableware that chips or crazes quickly creates both a presentation problem and a food safety concern. These plates are built to hold up under that kind of sustained use.

Practically, the Flora coupe plates offer several operational advantages:

High alumina vitrified body resists chipping during busy service and heavy rack handling
Dishwasher safe, supporting efficient turnaround between covers
Good thermal retention helps dishes reach the pass at the correct serving temperature
The coupe profile provides a clean plating surface well suited to modern presentation styles
Supplied in a pack of twelve, practical for building consistent cover sets

There are no specialist installation or utility requirements for tableware of this type. Storage space and rack compatibility are the primary practical considerations — the 252mm diameter fits standard plate racks and most commercial dishwasher baskets without issue. For very high-volume operations running multiple sittings, it is worth considering whether a larger opening stock of covers makes sense before committing to a single pack quantity.

These plates are a practical choice for restaurants, hotel dining rooms, bistros, and private members clubs where a coloured tableware range is part of the venue's identity. Operations requiring plain white or a more neutral palette will find alternatives in the wider Steelite catalogue better suited to their needs.

If you are building a full cover set or coordinating across multiple Flora pieces, our team is happy to help you work through quantities and matching items before you order.

Frequently asked questions

How well does the aqua glaze hold up after repeated commercial dishwasher cycles?

High alumina vitrified ware is fired to a higher density than standard china, which means the glaze is less prone to crazing or fading under the thermal and chemical demands of a commercial dishwasher. That said, using the correct detergent concentration and ensuring your machine is well maintained will extend the life of any coloured tableware.

Are these plates suitable for a high-volume restaurant running multiple sittings?

Yes, the material specification is well suited to high-turnover environments. For operations running two or three sittings with large covers, it is worth calculating your total plate requirement carefully before ordering — a single pack of twelve may form part of a larger opening stock rather than the whole set.

Can these plates go from a heated pass or plate warmer directly to the table?

High alumina vitrified ware handles thermal variation well and is designed to withstand the kind of temperature changes typical in commercial service, including moving from a plate warmer to the table. Avoid exposing any ceramic tableware to sudden extreme temperature shifts, such as placing a very cold plate directly onto a high-heat surface.
