Tefcold Chest Freezers

The Tefcold EL45SS is a 416-litre commercial chest freezer with a stainless steel lid, built for sites that need reliable bulk frozen storage without compromising on hygiene or monitoring capability. It sits comfortably within Tefcold's established range of commercial refrigeration equipment, which has a solid track record in food service and catering environments across the UK and Europe.

In practice, chest freezers of this capacity are well suited to the kind of bulk storage demands that upright units struggle to accommodate economically — large cuts of meat, catering packs of frozen goods, seasonal stock, or pre-made portions held ahead of a busy service. The design keeps stored product at a consistent temperature with relatively low energy consumption, since cold air settles and is less prone to loss when the lid is opened. The digital temperature readout and low-temperature alarm make it straightforward to log temperatures for food safety records and to catch any issues before they affect stock.

The stainless steel lid is a practical detail rather than a purely aesthetic one. In a working kitchen it doubles as a usable prep or staging surface, which matters when space is tight. It also holds up better to the knocks, cleaning products, and general wear that a standard painted or powder-coated lid would show over time. Other features that support day-to-day operation include:

• Internal lighting to locate product quickly without prolonged lid-open time
• Digital temperature display for straightforward compliance monitoring
• Low-temperature alarm to flag refrigeration faults promptly
• Stainless steel lid providing a hygienic secondary work surface
• Chest configuration reducing cold-air loss on frequent opening

Installation is generally straightforward — chest freezers of this type require a standard single-phase supply and adequate ventilation around the unit. Clearance to the sides and rear matters for condenser airflow, and the unit should sit on a level, solid floor capable of supporting the loaded weight. It is worth checking that door or access widths in your site will accommodate delivery and positioning before ordering.

This model is well suited to independent restaurants, pub kitchens, catering operations, and smaller food production sites where a reliable bulk frozen storage solution is needed alongside — or instead of — upright freezer capacity. It is a practical mid-capacity option; operators running higher-volume sites or needing significantly greater storage may find a larger-capacity model a better fit, and those with very limited space may prefer a smaller chest unit from the same range.

If you are unsure whether this capacity matches your storage requirements or want to talk through how it fits alongside your existing refrigeration, the team is happy to help you work that out before you commit.

The Tefcold LHF540 is a large-capacity chest freezer designed for bulk frozen storage in commercial environments. With just under 500 litres of usable space, it provides a practical solution for kitchens that need to hold significant volumes of frozen product — whether that's raw ingredients, portioned meat, bread, or pre-prepared items — without relying on expensive upright cabinet space.

Chest freezers of this type use static cooling, which circulates cold air without a fan. This approach tends to be quieter than forced-air alternatives and generally suits applications where the lid is not opened excessively throughout the day. The design also means frozen goods are less prone to surface drying over prolonged storage, which is relevant when holding delicate items or products with longer stock rotation cycles.

From an operational standpoint, the LHF540 offers several practical advantages for day-to-day use:

• Lockable lid helps manage stock access and security in shared or high-traffic kitchens
• Mains indicator light gives an at-a-glance confirmation that the unit is running
• Defrost drain simplifies routine cleaning and helps maintain hygiene standards
• Adjustable feet allow stable positioning on uneven or slightly irregular floor surfaces
• Large internal volume reduces the frequency of deliveries needed to maintain stock levels

Installation is straightforward for a unit of this type — it requires a standard single-phase mains supply and reasonable clearance around the sides and rear for ventilation. Chest freezers do occupy a larger floor footprint than upright models of equivalent capacity, so floor space should be assessed carefully before ordering. The unit is best sited in a cool, well-ventilated area away from direct heat sources such as ovens or fryers, as ambient temperature affects running efficiency and compressor load.

The LHF540 is well suited to pubs, small hotels, catering companies, and foodservice operations that need reliable bulk frozen storage as a secondary unit or for back-of-house holding. It is less well suited to operations where frequent access throughout service is needed — in those cases, an upright chest or multi-door freezer cabinet may be a more practical fit. For sites with substantially higher volume requirements, a larger chest or walk-in solution may be worth considering.

If you're not certain whether this capacity and format is the right match for how your kitchen operates, our team is happy to talk it through before you commit.

The Tefcold EL35 is a 323-litre chest freezer built for bulk frozen food storage in commercial catering environments. It uses a solid lid design rather than a glass-top configuration, which helps the unit retain cold air more effectively whenever the lid is opened during a busy service. It is a straightforward, practical piece of equipment suited to operations that need reliable bulk storage without the complication of upright cabinet management.

Chest freezers of this capacity are commonly used in kitchens that need to hold significant stock between deliveries — pub kitchens, small hotel operations, event caterers, and food production units are typical environments. The EL35 is well suited to back-of-house or dry-store areas where access frequency is relatively controlled rather than constant throughout service.

From an operational standpoint, the solid lid format means the unit holds temperature consistently even in warmer kitchen environments. The digital temperature display and low-temperature warning system help kitchen teams stay on top of food safety compliance without manual checking, which is a practical advantage during busy periods.

• Solid lid construction reduces cold-air loss during stock access
• Digital temperature display supports food safety monitoring
• Internal light aids stock visibility and reduces door-open time
• Low-temperature warning provides an early alert to potential issues
• Straightforward layout suits back-of-house bulk storage workflows

In terms of installation, the EL35 requires a standard mains electrical connection and adequate ventilation clearance around the unit — chest freezers generate heat from the compressor and condenser, so placement against walls or in enclosed spaces without airflow should be avoided. The unit is best suited to ground-floor or reinforced-floor locations given the weight when fully loaded. It is not designed for outdoor or unheated storage use.

This model is well matched to small-to-medium catering operations with moderate bulk storage needs. If your site has higher throughput, faster stock rotation, or requires frequent access throughout a shift, a larger-capacity or upright configuration may be worth considering. Equally, for very limited storage needs, a smaller unit might be more practical.

If you are unsure whether this capacity suits your operation or have questions about placement and installation, our team is happy to talk it through with you before you commit.

The Tefcold EL45 is a 416-litre solid lid chest freezer built for commercial catering environments that need dependable bulk frozen storage. It holds a substantial volume of product in a freestanding unit that can be positioned in a back-of-house prep area, dry store, or cold room anteroom without requiring any specialist installation beyond a standard power supply.

Chest freezers of this capacity are commonly used in catering operations where large volumes of frozen goods need to be held between deliveries — hotels, school kitchens, pub groups with central prep, and mid-sized event caterers all make regular use of units in this class. The solid lid design reduces cold-air loss on every open, which helps the unit maintain stable internal temperatures during busy service periods and keeps running costs in check over time.

From an operational standpoint, the EL45 offers a few practical features worth noting:

• Digital temperature display for at-a-glance monitoring without opening the lid
• Low-temperature warning system to alert staff if conditions drift outside safe limits
• Internal light to help locate specific products without extended searching
• Solid lid construction that limits cold-air spillage during access

Installation is straightforward. The unit requires a standard UK mains supply and adequate ventilation clearance around the condenser — typically a clear gap at the rear and sides. It should be sited away from heat sources such as ovens or direct sunlight, which would force the compressor to work harder. As with all chest freezers, consider the ergonomics of the space: deeper units can be less practical in tight back-of-house layouts where staff need to reach product at the bottom during service.

The EL45 is well suited to operations that need a reliable holding freezer rather than a high-frequency access unit. It is not designed for rapid-turnover situations where the lid is being opened repeatedly throughout service — a upright cabinet with door access would suit that workflow better. For smaller operations, a lower-capacity chest freezer may be a more appropriate fit, while higher-volume sites handling bulk deliveries may benefit from a heavier-duty commercial model with a larger footprint.

If you are unsure whether this unit is the right fit for your storage volumes, workflow, or available space, our team is happy to talk it through before you commit to an order.

The Tefcold MOBILUX 21 COMBI is a battery-powered mobile chest unit that operates as both a freezer and a chiller, designed for operators selling ice cream or chilled goods away from a fixed power supply. Unlike static catering refrigeration, this unit is built around portability — it can be mounted onto a suitable trolley or vending tricycle, making it a practical choice for markets, events, outdoor catering, and seafront or park-based vending operations.

In day-to-day use, the battery provides a working range of roughly eight to thirteen hours depending on ambient conditions and how frequently the lid is opened. For most single-day trading sessions, charging overnight is sufficient to carry the unit through a full shift. The combi configuration means operators can run it in freezer mode for hard-scoop ice cream or switch to a chiller setting for soft drinks, dairy products, or chilled snacks — useful for traders who vary their product range by season or venue.

From a practical standpoint, the unit accommodates three internal baskets, each sized to hold two 4-litre scooping tubs, giving a capacity of six tubs in active use. Key operational considerations include:

• No fixed power connection needed during trading — fully self-contained during operation
• Basket configuration keeps product organised and accessible during service
• Dual-mode operation supports both frozen and chilled product ranges
• Suitable for mounting on a compatible vending trolley or tricycle
• Overnight charging via a standard connection prepares the unit for the next day's trade

This unit is best suited to sole traders or small vending operations running a single point of sale. It is not designed for high-throughput fixed installations or continuous multi-unit operation. Operators expecting to run two or more sales points simultaneously, or those needing extended trading hours beyond a single charge cycle, may find a higher-capacity or mains-connected solution more appropriate.

If you are unsure whether this unit fits your trading pattern or want to discuss options for your specific setup, we are happy to help you think it through before you commit.

The Tefcold EL53SS is a 491-litre chest freezer built for commercial environments where bulk frozen storage is a daily requirement. It operates as a conventional top-opening chest freezer, maintaining consistent low temperatures across a generous storage volume, and is distinguished by its stainless steel lid — a practical detail that means the unit can double as usable worktop space when the lid is closed.

In busy kitchen or storage environments, a chest freezer of this capacity earns its place when there is a regular need to hold large volumes of frozen product — batch-cooked items, portioned proteins, frozen ingredients bought in bulk, or event and function prep that needs to be held in advance of service. The chest format retains cold air more effectively than upright models when opened frequently, which helps maintain stable temperatures during active use and supports consistent product quality over time.

Practical features that support day-to-day operation include:

• Stainless steel lid surface, usable as a preparation or pass-through area
• Internal illumination for clear visibility when locating stock
• Digital temperature display for at-a-glance monitoring
• Low temperature warning system to flag potential issues early
• Robust construction suited to demanding commercial conditions

As with all chest freezers, it is worth considering floor space carefully before ordering. The footprint is substantial, and access to the interior requires clear overhead clearance for the lid to open fully. Chest freezers are typically floor-standing and do not require specialist ventilation, but the installation location should allow for adequate airflow around the unit and straightforward access to the power supply.

The EL53SS is well suited to catering operations, food production sites, and storage environments where high-volume frozen storage is needed and floor space allows. It is less suited to kitchens where space is restricted or where frequent, fast access to specific items is a priority — upright freezer cabinets may serve those workflows better. For operations needing significantly greater capacity, larger chest or upright models are available.

If you are weighing up whether this unit fits your available space and workflow, or want to talk through the right freezer format for your site, the team is happy to help you think it through before you commit.

The Tefcold EL71SS is a large-capacity chest freezer built for commercial catering and hospitality environments. At 691 litres, it provides substantial frozen storage in a format well suited to back-of-house areas where consistent temperature maintenance and ease of access are everyday requirements. The stainless steel lid distinguishes it from standard domestic-grade alternatives, offering the durability expected in a professional kitchen setting while also providing a practical additional surface when the lid is closed.

In a busy kitchen, reliable frozen storage is rarely glamorous but always critical. Chest freezers at this capacity are commonly used in catering operations where large volumes of protein, prepared foods, or frozen ingredients need to be held safely between deliveries. The sealed chest design is inherently efficient at retaining cold air when opened, making it a practical choice for high-frequency access during service. The integrated internal light aids quick identification of stock without extended door-open time, and the low-temperature warning system provides an important safeguard against undetected temperature drift — a real operational concern when HACCP compliance is a daily responsibility.

• Stainless steel lid doubles as an additional work surface in tight spaces
• Internal light supports quick stock identification and reduces door-open time
• Low-temperature warning system aids HACCP compliance and product safety
• Digital temperature display allows straightforward real-time monitoring
• Large capacity well suited to bulk frozen ingredient storage between deliveries

From an installation standpoint, chest freezers of this size require adequate floor space and sufficient clearance around the unit for ventilation — positioning against a wall or in a confined alcove without airflow can affect long-term performance and energy consumption. The unit will need a standard mains supply, but given the lack of detailed electrical specifications in the product data, we'd recommend confirming the exact requirements before installation if your site has any supply constraints. Weight when loaded is a consideration for older or uneven flooring, and access routes into the kitchen should be checked before delivery.

This model is well suited to catering operations, event kitchens, pub kitchens, and similar environments that need reliable high-volume frozen storage without the complexity of an upright blast freezer or walk-in installation. It is less suited to very high-turnover sites where multiple staff need simultaneous access, or where floor space is at a significant premium. If your storage volume requirements are more modest, a smaller-capacity chest freezer may be a more appropriate and energy-efficient choice; conversely, for larger operations, heavier-duty or higher-capacity options are worth considering.

If you're unsure whether this capacity is right for your operation, or have questions about placement and installation in your kitchen, our team is happy to talk it through before you commit to a purchase.

The Tefcold EL61 is a 556-litre solid lid chest freezer built for commercial catering use. It is designed to hold substantial volumes of frozen stock — bulk ingredients, portioned proteins, frozen desserts, prepared meals — and maintain safe storage temperatures consistently over long operating periods. The solid lid construction helps retain cold air whenever the unit is opened, which is a practical advantage in busy prep environments where the freezer is accessed frequently throughout the day.

In a working kitchen context, chest freezers at this capacity are commonly used as primary bulk storage rather than front-line service units. They suit operations that receive large deliveries and need to hold significant frozen stock between service periods — catering companies, event kitchens, school or hospital catering, and larger independent restaurants with limited walk-in freezer space. The solid lid format is generally more energy efficient than open-top alternatives in environments where ambient temperature fluctuates.

From an operational standpoint, the EL61 includes a few features worth noting for day-to-day management:

• Digital temperature display for straightforward monitoring without opening the lid
• Low temperature warning indicator to flag any deviation from set conditions
• Internal light to aid visibility when accessing stock

Installation requirements are straightforward — the unit runs on a standard single-phase supply and requires adequate clearance around the condenser for ventilation. It is worth considering floor load and access width before delivery, particularly in basement prep areas or older buildings. As with any chest freezer, defrosting and drainage arrangements should be factored into kitchen planning.

The EL61 is well suited to medium-to-large catering operations needing dependable bulk frozen storage. For sites with higher throughput or more demanding stock rotation requirements, it is worth considering whether a larger capacity unit or a different configuration would better match the operation.

If you are unsure whether this model fits your storage requirements or site setup, the team is happy to talk through the options.

The Tefcold EL11LT is a low temperature chest freezer with a 130-litre capacity, designed for commercial environments where reliable deep-freeze storage is a daily requirement. Chest freezers of this type use static cooling — no fan circulating air — which makes them particularly well suited to storing unwrapped or loosely packaged frozen goods without the risk of dehydration or freezer burn that forced-air units can sometimes cause.

In practice, this unit performs consistently across a full working day without significant temperature fluctuation. The static cooling method means recovery after the lid is opened is steady rather than rapid, so it suits operations where access is periodic rather than constant — a prep kitchen reaching into stock a handful of times per shift, for instance, rather than a high-traffic service counter needing immediate pull-through.

The practical features that matter most in day-to-day use include:

• Digital controller with clear temperature display for straightforward monitoring
• Visual temperature alarm to alert staff if the cabinet rises above safe limits
• Substantial insulation depth supporting efficient running and reduced energy draw
• Defrost drain to simplify periodic maintenance without manual bailing
• Lockable, adjustable feet for stable positioning on uneven kitchen floors

Installation is straightforward — this is a freestanding unit requiring a standard single-phase electrical supply and adequate clearance around the cabinet for ventilation. It does not require a floor drain, though positioning the defrost drain outlet sensibly during setup will save time later. Allow sufficient space above the lid for comfortable access to the full depth of the cabinet.

This model is well suited to smaller commercial kitchens, prep areas, catering companies, or any operation needing a compact, dedicated low-temperature store. It is not intended as a primary freezer for a high-volume site turning over large quantities of frozen product daily — for that level of demand, a larger-capacity unit would be worth considering.

If you are unsure whether the capacity or cooling method is right for how your kitchen operates, our team is happy to talk it through with you before you commit.

The Tefcold MOBILUX 11 COMBI is a battery-powered mobile chest unit that maintains both frozen and chilled products without requiring a mains connection. It is built for operators who trade away from a fixed site — ice cream vendors, market traders, festival caterers, and mobile food businesses that need reliable temperature control wherever they set up, rather than being tied to a power supply.

Running from a rechargeable battery, the unit gives genuine trading freedom at outdoor events, beachfronts, and locations where mains power is unavailable or impractical. Battery runtime is not fixed — it varies with ambient temperature, lid-opening frequency, and how fully the unit is loaded. Operators working in warm conditions or with steady customer throughput should test their charging schedule under realistic trading conditions before committing to a full day's use on a single charge.

The MOBILUX 11 COMBI is designed to travel as well as trade. It is compatible with tricycle and trolley mounting, which suits traditional mobile vending formats well. The dual-basket interior keeps frozen and chilled lines separated and accessible during service — a practical detail when customers are waiting.

• No mains connection required — operates anywhere without a fixed power supply
• Compatible with vending tricycle and trolley mounting systems
• Dual-basket layout separates frozen and chilled product during service
• Handles both frozen and chilled lines within a single cabinet
• Compact footprint suited to single-operator mobile vending

This unit is best suited to single-operator mobile vending rather than high-volume or multi-day event operations. If you are running a larger setup, need extended runtime across consecutive trading days, or are unsure whether the capacity matches your product range, it is worth talking things through with us before placing an order.

The Tefcold SE30-45 is a 330-litre low-temperature chest freezer designed for commercial catering environments where reliable bulk frozen storage is a daily requirement. It uses static cooling to maintain consistent temperatures throughout the cabinet, making it a practical choice for storing a broad range of frozen ingredients, prepared meals, and portioned product.

In busy kitchen environments, consistent temperature performance matters more than headline figures. Static cooling systems avoid the airflow-driven moisture loss associated with fan-forced units, which is a practical consideration when storing uncovered or loosely wrapped product over extended periods. The digital temperature display allows staff to confirm conditions at a glance without opening the lid, which helps maintain cabinet stability during service.

From an operational standpoint, the SE30-45 offers several day-to-day advantages:

• Substantial 330-litre capacity supports bulk storage without frequent restocking
• Static cooling reduces product dehydration during long storage cycles
• Digital controller provides clear temperature monitoring for due diligence records
• Lockable castors allow repositioning when needed and secure placement during use
• Integrated defrost drain simplifies routine maintenance and cleaning

The unit runs on a standard single-phase supply, which makes installation straightforward in most back-of-house settings. The 80mm insulation layer contributes to energy efficiency and helps maintain temperature stability in warmer ambient conditions, such as busy kitchen environments. Chest freezers of this type require adequate clearance around the lid opening and sufficient floor space — it is worth confirming both before placing the unit.

The SE30-45 is well suited to small to medium catering operations, pub kitchens, event caterers, and food preparation businesses where dependable bulk frozen storage is needed without the footprint of an upright cabinet. It is less suited to operations requiring rapid, frequent access to multiple product lines throughout service. For higher-volume sites or where access frequency is a priority, a larger or upright configuration may be worth considering.

If you are unsure whether the SE30-45 is the right fit for your storage requirements or kitchen layout, the team is happy to talk it through with you before you commit.

The Tefcold SE10-45 is a 155-litre low-temperature chest freezer designed for commercial catering environments where consistent, dependable frozen storage is a daily requirement. It uses static cooling — without evaporator fans — to maintain stable temperatures throughout the cabinet, making it well suited to holding bulk frozen ingredients, batch-cooked items, or seasonal stock over extended periods.

Static-cooled chest freezers of this type tend to perform reliably in busy back-of-house settings because the absence of fan components means fewer moving parts and less to go wrong during a sustained service period. The sealed lid retains cold air effectively each time the unit is accessed. It is worth being clear about what this freezer is designed to do: it is a storage unit built to hold product at temperature safely and consistently, not to recover rapidly from large loads of warm product being added in bulk.

For day-to-day back-of-house use, the SE10-45 offers several practical advantages:

• Digital temperature display lets staff check storage conditions at a glance without opening the lid
• Well-insulated cabinet helps keep running costs manageable over time
• Integrated defrost drain simplifies routine maintenance and reduces downtime
• Castors allow the unit to be repositioned without heavy lifting during deep cleans or layout changes

Installation is straightforward on a standard single-phase supply. The unit needs adequate clearance around the cabinet for the condenser to ventilate efficiently and should be kept away from heat sources such as ovens or direct sunlight, which increase compressor load and can affect temperature stability. As a chest freezer, overhead access clearance is also necessary — ceiling height and surrounding layout are worth checking before the unit is placed.

The SE10-45 is a practical choice for cafés, pubs, smaller catering operations, or as a supplementary freezer in a larger kitchen. It is not suited to high-turnover situations that demand rapid temperature recovery — for more demanding or higher-volume applications, a larger or fan-assisted unit would serve better.

If you are unsure whether this model fits your storage volumes or available space, we are glad to help you work through it before you commit to an order.

The Tefcold SE40-45 is a low temperature chest freezer offering around 400 litres of usable storage capacity. Chest freezers of this type are a practical choice where bulk frozen storage is required — they maintain temperature well, are generally more energy-efficient than upright alternatives of comparable volume, and their top-opening design limits cold air loss during access. The low temperature classification means this unit is designed to operate at the colder end of the commercial freezer range, making it appropriate for products that require storage below standard freezer temperatures.

In a working kitchen or catering environment, chest freezers tend to suit storage rather than frequent retrieval. They perform steadily over long periods and cope well with ambient temperature fluctuations in back-of-house areas, which can be a common issue with high-traffic kitchens. The static cooling system maintains a consistent internal environment without the air movement that fan-assisted units produce, which helps preserve product quality and reduce dehydration of unwrapped goods.

• Top-opening design minimises cold air loss during access
• Suitable for bulk frozen storage across catering and food service operations
• Static cooling helps maintain consistent internal temperature
• Castors allow repositioning within the kitchen without heavy lifting
• Integrated defrost drain simplifies routine cleaning and maintenance

As a chest freezer, this unit requires floor-level access and a clear lid-opening clearance above — worth confirming before installation. It will need a suitable mains electrical supply and should be positioned away from direct heat sources such as ovens or dishwashers, which would affect running efficiency. It is not suited to walk-in applications or high-frequency item retrieval by service staff during a busy pass.

This model is well suited to catering operations, event companies, schools, care homes, and smaller food production sites that need reliable bulk frozen storage without the footprint of a large upright cabinet. If your operation requires a significantly larger capacity or more frequent access throughout service, it is worth considering whether a larger chest model or an upright freezer cabinet would be a better fit for your workflow.

If you are unsure whether this unit is the right choice for your storage volumes or kitchen layout, our team is happy to talk it through with you before you commit.

The Tefcold EL61SS is a large-capacity chest freezer built for commercial use, offering 556 litres of frozen storage in a robust unit designed to handle the demands of a working kitchen environment. The lid is finished in stainless steel, which gives it a practical secondary function as a clean, durable work surface when closed — a useful consideration in kitchens where counter space is at a premium.

Chest freezers of this capacity are commonly found in catering operations where bulk frozen ingredient storage is a day-to-day requirement: hotel kitchens, pub groups, event catering operations, food production units, and sites managing significant stock volumes. The chest configuration is inherently efficient for frozen storage — cold air stays low when the lid is opened, reducing temperature fluctuation and helping the unit recover quickly after access.

Operationally, this unit includes features that support day-to-day management without adding complexity:

• Internal light for clear visibility when locating ingredients during service
• Digital temperature display for quick, reliable monitoring at a glance
• Low temperature warning light to flag any deviation from the set range
• Stainless steel lid suitable as a secondary prep or staging surface

Before installation, it is worth confirming that floor loading in the intended position can support a fully stocked unit of this size, as a large chest freezer at capacity is a substantial weight. Access during installation should also be considered — chest freezers are wide and will need adequate door and corridor clearance to position correctly. Standard electrical connection is required; no specialist supply is typically needed, but confirming your supply is appropriate before delivery is sensible.

This unit is well suited to operations that need reliable bulk frozen storage in a single footprint. It is less suited to kitchens requiring frequent or rapid access to many different product lines, where upright multideck freezers may offer more practical retrieval. For higher-volume sites or those requiring multiple separate temperature zones, larger or additional units may be worth considering.

If you are unsure whether this is the right configuration for your operation, our team is happy to talk through your storage requirements before you commit to a purchase.

The Tefcold EL22 is a 200-litre solid lid chest freezer designed for back-of-house frozen storage in commercial catering and food service settings. It is a no-frills, dependable unit built to hold bulk frozen stock consistently — not a complex piece of kit, but a practical one. A digital temperature display, internal light, and low-temperature warning system are included as standard, giving operators useful visibility over storage conditions without needing to lift the lid to check.

Chest freezers perform well in environments where the priority is steady bulk storage rather than frequent, rapid access. The solid lid is a meaningful advantage in a working kitchen — cold air stays in when the unit is opened during service rather than spilling out immediately as it would with a glass lid. This supports both food safety and keeps running costs in check over the long term. The internal light reduces the time spent searching for stock, which in turn limits how long the lid stays open during a busy shift.

Practical operational advantages include:

• Solid lid retains cold air effectively during repeated access throughout service
• Digital display allows temperature checks without opening the unit
• Low-temperature alarm supports food safety monitoring and due diligence records
• Internal light improves stock visibility and reduces lid-open time
• Compact footprint relative to storage capacity suits tighter back-of-house spaces

Installation is straightforward. The unit runs on a standard single-phase supply and requires no specialist fitting. Allow adequate clearance at the rear and sides for ventilation, and position on a firm, level surface. It is worth confirming the intended placement before delivery — chest freezers need floor-level access and reasonable clear space around them for both airflow and practical day-to-day use. This is not a unit suited to walk-in or pass-through positions.

The EL22 is a sensible fit for smaller restaurants, pub kitchens, catering prep operations, and food businesses needing reliable supplementary frozen storage without committing to a large upright cabinet. It works well as a secondary unit on busier sites or as the primary freezer where throughput is modest. Operations storing substantial quantities of frozen product across a high-volume service week may find a larger-capacity unit better suited to their needs.

If you are unsure whether this size is right for your storage requirements or want to talk through placement options, the team is happy to help you work it out before you commit.

The Tefcold LHF460 is a large-capacity chest freezer designed for commercial food storage. It uses static cooling to maintain a consistent holding temperature across the cabinet, making it suitable for bulk frozen stock that needs stable, reliable preservation rather than rapid chilling. The solid lid construction and reinforced housing reflect a unit built for sustained use in back-of-house and storage environments.

In practice, chest freezers of this capacity are commonly used in operations where frozen stock is held in volume — preparation kitchens, catering companies, school meal services, butchers, and food production units. The large opening gives straightforward access to bulky or irregularly shaped items, and the static system means there are no fans to circulate air and cause surface dehydration on unpackaged product. That said, chest freezers do require more floor space than upright alternatives and can be less convenient for high-frequency access during a busy service.

Practical features that are worth noting in day-to-day use:

• Solid lid reduces temperature fluctuations when the unit is opened
• Integrated lock provides basic stock security in shared or public-access areas
• Mains indicator light gives a visible at-a-glance check on operational status
• Defrost drain simplifies routine cleaning and maintenance
• Reinforced feet provide stable placement on uneven or tiled flooring

Installation is straightforward — the unit requires a standard mains supply and adequate ventilation clearance around the cabinet to allow the condenser to operate efficiently. It should be sited away from direct heat sources such as ovens or direct sunlight, which will place additional load on the refrigeration system. As with any chest freezer, allow sufficient floor area not just for the footprint but for the lid to open fully without obstruction.

The LHF460 is well suited to operations needing a dependable bulk frozen storage solution where access frequency is moderate rather than constant. For sites with very high throughput or a need for frequent retrieval during service, an upright freezer with shelved compartments may be more practical. Equally, smaller operations may find a lower-capacity model a better fit for their space and stock levels.

If you are weighing up whether this unit is the right size and configuration for your operation, we are happy to talk it through before you commit.

The Tefcold EL21LT is a low temperature chest freezer offering 226 litres of storage capacity. Chest freezers of this type are designed to hold product at consistently deep-freeze temperatures, making them a practical choice for operators who need reliable bulk storage for meat, fish, prepared meals, or frozen bakery goods. The low temperature specification means it is capable of reaching and maintaining temperatures lower than a standard chest freezer, which is a relevant consideration when storing products with strict cold chain requirements.

In a working kitchen environment, static cooling systems are generally well regarded for their consistency and quiet operation. Without a fan circulating air, temperature distribution relies on the insulation and the efficiency of the refrigeration circuit rather than forced airflow, which also means less risk of product dehydration over extended storage periods. The substantial insulation supports temperature retention during loading, which is a practical advantage in busy back-of-house environments where lids are opened regularly.

From an operational standpoint, the unit offers a number of day-to-day advantages worth noting:

• Digital temperature display allows at-a-glance monitoring without opening the lid
• Visual temperature alarm provides early warning if conditions move outside safe parameters
• Defrost drain simplifies routine cleaning and maintenance
• Quiet static cooling suits prep areas and storerooms where noise is a consideration
• Chest configuration maximises usable cold volume relative to footprint

As a chest freezer, it requires clear floor space and overhead clearance for lid access — worth confirming before installation. Chest freezers are less convenient than upright cabinets for frequent access to a wide range of products, but for bulk storage where contents are accessed less regularly, the design is efficient and well proven. It is suitable for a standard 13A or dedicated supply depending on the site's electrical setup, though we would recommend confirming the exact electrical requirement with your installer before positioning the unit.

This model is well suited to smaller catering operations, cafés, takeaways, or as a secondary storage unit in larger kitchens. For sites handling higher volumes or requiring more frequent access to a wider product range, an upright low temperature cabinet or a larger capacity chest freezer may be worth considering instead.

If you are unsure whether this unit suits your storage requirements or cold chain obligations, our team is happy to talk through the options before you commit.

The Tefcold EL41LT is a low temperature chest freezer offering 360 litres of storage capacity. Chest freezers of this type are commonly used in commercial kitchens, catering operations, and food retail environments where reliable bulk frozen storage is required at consistently low temperatures. The low temperature classification means this unit is designed to operate at temperatures lower than standard chest freezers, making it suitable for applications where products must be held at deeper freeze conditions.

Static cooling keeps the internal temperature stable without the air movement associated with fan-assisted systems, which helps reduce freezer burn on unpackaged or loosely wrapped products over extended storage periods. A digital controller with a clear temperature display allows operators to monitor and adjust settings quickly, and the visual temperature alarm provides an immediate alert if the cabinet temperature moves outside acceptable limits — a practical safeguard during busy service periods or overnight when the kitchen is unattended.

From an operational standpoint, the key day-to-day advantages include:

• Consistent low temperature performance suited to demanding frozen storage requirements
• Digital temperature display allows straightforward monitoring without opening the lid
• Visual alarm reduces the risk of undetected temperature drift and stock loss
• Heavy insulation supports temperature retention during frequent access or in warm kitchen environments
• Integrated defrost drain simplifies routine cleaning and maintenance

Installation is straightforward for a unit of this type — it requires a standard mains electrical connection and sufficient clearance around the cabinet for ventilation. The locking feet provide stability on uneven floor surfaces, which is a practical consideration in older kitchens. As with all chest freezers, allow adequate floor space for the footprint and ensure the lid can open fully without obstruction.

This unit is well suited to operations that need dependable bulk frozen storage — catering kitchens, pub and restaurant back-of-house areas, butchers, and food production environments. If your operation handles very high stock turnover or requires multiple zones of frozen storage, it is worth discussing whether a larger-capacity unit or a combination of cabinets would serve you better.

If you are unsure whether this unit matches your storage volume or temperature requirements, our team is happy to talk it through with you before you commit to a purchase.

The Tefcold LHF620SS is a large-capacity chest freezer with a stainless steel lid, designed for commercial environments where reliable bulk frozen storage is a day-to-day operational requirement. It uses a static cooling system to maintain consistent temperatures across the cabinet, keeping frozen stock in good condition without the mechanical complexity of fan-forced alternatives.

In a working kitchen or storage environment, a chest freezer at this capacity is typically used to hold bulk protein, frozen bakery goods, or pre-prepared items in volume. The static cooling approach suits dense loading, where air circulation is inherently limited by the way stock is packed. Recovery after a door-open event is steady rather than rapid, so it is best suited to environments where access is periodic rather than constant throughout a busy service.

From an operational standpoint, the stainless steel lid makes the unit easier to keep clean and more resistant to the knocks and cleaning products common in commercial back-of-house areas. Practical features that support day-to-day use include:

• Lockable lid to secure stock between services or for end-of-day close-down
• Integrated defrost drain to simplify routine maintenance
• Stainless steel lid surface suited to commercial hygiene environments
• Static cooling for consistent temperature across a densely loaded cabinet

Installation is straightforward for a unit of this type, though the footprint and weight of a 556-litre chest freezer means floor loading, access routes, and ventilation clearances around the unit should be confirmed before delivery. It will require a standard single-phase supply and adequate clearance at the rear and sides for the condenser to dissipate heat effectively — particularly important in warm or enclosed storage rooms.

This unit is well suited to restaurants, hotel kitchens, butchers, and catering businesses that need dependable bulk freezer capacity without requiring constant retrieval throughout service. It is not ideally suited as a primary service freezer in a high-traffic kitchen where stock is accessed repeatedly at pace. For operations needing significantly larger capacity or upright access, alternatives within the range may be worth considering.

If you are unsure whether this unit fits your storage layout or operational pattern, the team is happy to talk it through.

The Tefcold EL71 is a large-capacity solid lid chest freezer intended for commercial catering environments where bulk frozen storage is a day-to-day requirement. With a 691-litre capacity, it is designed to hold substantial quantities of frozen goods — making it a practical choice for operations that need to store large batch-prepared items, bulk meat, frozen ingredients, or catering pack products over extended periods.

Chest freezers of this size earn their place in kitchens and storage areas where upright cabinet space is limited or where the nature of the stock — larger or irregularly shaped items — suits a top-loading format. The solid lid construction helps retain cold air when the freezer is opened, which is a meaningful advantage in busy service environments where the unit may be accessed frequently throughout the day.

From an operational standpoint, the EL71 includes a digital temperature display for straightforward monitoring, an internal light to aid visibility when locating stock, and a low-temperature warning indicator to alert staff to any temperature deviation. These are practical features for a working kitchen where food safety compliance and stock integrity matter.

• Digital temperature display for accurate monitoring without opening the lid
• Low-temperature warning light to flag temperature fluctuations promptly
• Internal light aids stock location and reduces unnecessary lid-open time
• Solid lid design limits cold air loss during access
• Large capacity suits bulk ingredient storage and batch freezing

Installation requirements are relatively straightforward — the unit runs on a standard electrical supply and requires adequate ventilation clearance around the casing to maintain efficient operation. It is worth confirming floor loading capacity in your storage area given the weight of a unit this size when fully stocked.

The EL71 is well suited to pub kitchens, catering companies, school or care facility kitchens, and food production environments where bulk frozen storage is a core operational need. Smaller operations with modest storage demands may find a more compact chest freezer sufficient; equally, sites with very high-volume frozen stock requirements may want to consider a larger or multi-unit arrangement.

If you are unsure whether this size and configuration fits your storage setup, we are happy to talk it through before you commit to an order.

The Tefcold SE20-45 is a 235-litre low-temperature chest freezer designed for commercial environments where reliable, consistent deep-freeze storage is a day-to-day requirement. It uses a static cooling system to maintain stable temperatures throughout the cabinet, and a digital controller with a clear display gives operators straightforward, accurate temperature management without unnecessary complexity.

In practice, chest freezers of this type are well suited to back-of-house bulk storage — ice cream, frozen proteins, prepared dishes, and raw ingredients that need to be held at low temperatures for extended periods. The static cooling approach, while slower to recover than fan-assisted systems, is well suited to products that benefit from stable, undisturbed temperature conditions and where frequent door access is not the norm. The substantial insulation depth supports temperature retention, which matters in warmer kitchen environments or during busy service periods when ambient temperatures rise.

From an operational standpoint, this unit offers a number of practical advantages:

• Digital temperature control allows precise monitoring without opening the lid
• Mobile castors allow repositioning during cleaning or kitchen layout changes
• Defrost drain simplifies routine maintenance and avoids water accumulation
• Chest configuration minimises cold air loss compared with upright alternatives
• Deep insulation supports energy efficiency during extended holding periods

Installation is relatively straightforward. The unit is free-standing and requires a standard single-phase power supply. Adequate clearance around the unit is advisable for ventilation and condenser performance. As with any refrigeration equipment, avoid positioning it directly adjacent to heat-generating appliances, which will increase running costs and reduce efficiency. The castors make positioning manageable, though the loaded weight should be considered when planning placement on upper floors or in areas with restricted access.

This freezer is well suited to small to medium catering operations, delis, butchers, or food preparation sites that need reliable bulk frozen storage without the footprint of a walk-in. It would also suit larger operations as supplementary overflow storage. Sites with very high-volume frozen goods throughput or a need for rapid recovery after frequent access may find a fan-assisted or larger-capacity unit a better fit for their workflow.

If you're unsure whether this model suits your storage volumes or kitchen environment, the team is happy to talk it through before you commit.

The Tefcold EL35SS is a 323-litre chest freezer built for commercial use, finished with a stainless steel lid that doubles as a usable work surface. The unit is designed to hold large volumes of frozen stock at consistent temperatures, making it a practical choice for kitchens that need reliable bulk storage without dedicating separate worktop space to the freezer itself.

In a busy kitchen environment, chest freezers of this capacity are commonly used for storing bulk meat, fish, bread products, and other frozen goods that don't need frequent access during service. The chest configuration retains cold air more effectively than upright units when opened repeatedly, which helps maintain stable internal temperatures during busy periods. An internal light aids visibility when retrieving stock, and a digital temperature display allows staff to monitor conditions without opening the lid.

From a practical standpoint, this unit offers a number of day-to-day advantages:

• Stainless steel lid provides a hygienic, cleanable work surface
• Digital temperature display supports food safety monitoring
• Low temperature warning light alerts staff to potential stock risk
• Internal light improves stock visibility and speeds up retrieval
• Chest format retains cold well, reducing compressor cycling

Installation is straightforward — this is a freestanding unit requiring a standard mains electrical connection and adequate clearance around the condenser for ventilation. It is not designed for built-in installation. As with all chest freezers, consider access and positioning carefully, as the lid-open footprint is larger than the unit itself. It is best placed where staff can open the lid fully without obstruction.

This model is well suited to small to medium catering operations — pub kitchens, cafés, small restaurants, and food prep sites where a practical bulk freezer is needed and floor space allows for a chest configuration. Sites with very high frozen stock turnover or limited floor space may find a larger or upright alternative better suited to their workflow.

If you are unsure whether this capacity is right for your operation or have questions about positioning it within your kitchen layout, our team is happy to talk it through with you before you commit.

The Tefcold LHF540SS is a large-capacity chest freezer built for commercial use, featuring a stainless steel lid that holds up well in the kinds of environments where standard finishes tend to deteriorate quickly. At just under 500 litres, it offers a practical bulk storage solution for frozen goods — whether that is portioned protein, ice cream stock, frozen bakery ingredients or bulk-bought catering supplies.

In a working kitchen or food retail setting, chest freezers like this one earn their place through sheer holding capacity and consistent temperature maintenance. The static cooling system runs quietly and without the vibration associated with fan-assisted units, which makes it a sensible choice where delicate frozen goods are being stored or where the unit sits within earshot of a service area. Recovery after loading is steady rather than aggressive, which suits operations where the lid is opened periodically rather than constantly throughout the day.

From an operational standpoint, this unit offers several practical advantages:

• Stainless steel lid resists scratching and corrosion in demanding environments
• Locking lid helps manage stock security and limits temperature loss from unauthorised access
• Integrated defrost drain simplifies routine cleaning and reduces downtime
• Static cooling protects fragile frozen goods from vibration damage
• Large internal volume supports bulk storage without the footprint of multiple smaller units

Before installing, it is worth confirming you have adequate floor space not just for the unit itself but for practical lid clearance overhead — chest freezers require more vertical clearance than upright models when the lid is opened fully. The unit will need a standard single-phase power supply and should be positioned in a well-ventilated area away from direct heat sources such as ovens or direct sunlight, both of which will affect running efficiency. It is not suited to unheated outdoor storage unless ambient temperature conditions are confirmed as appropriate.

This freezer is well suited to small-to-medium catering operations, butchers, farm shops, school kitchens and food service sites that need reliable bulk frozen storage without the cost of a full walk-in freezer. For sites with very high stock turnover or a need for frequent access throughout service, an upright cabinet configuration may be easier to work with day-to-day. Equally, for sites with more modest requirements, a smaller chest model may be a better fit both physically and economically.

If you are weighing up whether this capacity matches your actual storage needs, or have questions about placement and power requirements, we are happy to talk it through before you commit.

The Tefcold LHF620 is a large-capacity chest freezer built for commercial food storage. With a 556-litre interior, it is well suited to operations that need to hold significant volumes of frozen stock — whether that is bulk ingredients, pre-prepared components, or frozen goods awaiting service. Static cooling keeps temperatures steady without the noise and airflow associated with fan-assisted systems, which makes it a practical choice where minimal disruption is a consideration.

In a working kitchen or food storage environment, consistency matters more than headline specifications. The LHF620 maintains its target temperature range reliably, which is what protects stock quality and supports due diligence under food safety requirements. Static cooling also tends to be gentler on uncovered products, reducing surface dehydration over extended storage periods.

From an operational standpoint, the unit includes a number of features that reduce the day-to-day burden on kitchen and stores staff:

• Security lock to protect stored stock and support access control
• Defrost drain to simplify routine cleaning without manual bailing
• Mains indicator light for a quick visual check of operational status
• Solid lid construction to help retain cold air during access
• Adjustable feet to keep the unit stable on uneven flooring

Chest freezers of this size require adequate floor space and clear lid clearance above — the lid opens upward, so sufficient overhead room is needed for practical daily access. The unit will need a suitable mains supply and should be positioned away from heat sources such as ovens or direct sunlight, which will affect its ability to maintain temperature efficiently. It is not suitable for undercounter installation.

The LHF620 is a good fit for catering operations, food production units, hospitality venues, and retail or wholesale food businesses that need reliable bulk frozen storage at a sensible running cost. For smaller operations with more limited space, a lower-capacity chest freezer may be more appropriate. For sites with very high stock rotation or multiple frozen product lines, it is worth considering whether a larger unit or additional freezer capacity would better serve the workflow.

If you are unsure whether this model suits your storage volumes or available space, we are happy to talk it through before you commit to a purchase.

The Tefcold EL51LT is a large-capacity low-temperature chest freezer designed for commercial environments where reliable deep-freeze storage is required over extended periods. Chest freezers of this type are commonly used in catering operations, food production facilities, food retail, and hospitality settings where bulk frozen stock needs to be held safely and efficiently without the footprint or cost of a full walk-in solution.

Static cooling systems, such as the one used here, maintain temperatures without the airflow of fan-assisted units. This makes them well suited to storing unwrapped or loosely covered products where fan circulation could cause surface drying or freezer burn. The sealed environment also supports consistent temperature retention when the lid is opened and closed during service, which matters when staff are accessing stock repeatedly throughout the day.

The digital controller and temperature display allow operators to monitor internal conditions at a glance, while the visual temperature alarm provides a prompt if conditions move outside acceptable limits — useful for HACCP compliance and for catching door-seal issues before they become a food safety concern. The thick insulation jacket keeps the cold in efficiently, which has a direct bearing on running costs over time. A defrost drain simplifies maintenance and reduces the time staff spend managing ice build-up.

• Digital temperature display for straightforward monitoring and compliance checks
• Visual alarm alerts staff to temperature deviations before stock is at risk
• Static cooling protects product quality, particularly for unwrapped frozen goods
• Substantial insulation supports energy efficiency during continuous operation
• Defrost drain reduces maintenance time and simplifies cleaning

In terms of placement, chest freezers require clear lid-clearance overhead and are best positioned where staff can access the full interior without obstruction. They are less suited to tight galley kitchens where floor space and vertical access are restricted. For operations needing frequent, fast access to a wide range of frozen products, an upright cabinet may be a more practical option. For bulk storage where access frequency is lower and energy efficiency is a priority, a chest format like this is a sensible choice.

This model is well suited to small to medium catering operations, butchers, food producers, and hospitality venues that need reliable bulk frozen storage without committing to a walk-in. For higher-volume sites or where multiple product lines need to be accessed quickly during service, a larger or upright configuration may be worth considering.

If you are unsure whether this unit fits your storage volumes or kitchen layout, our team is happy to talk through your requirements before you commit to anything.

The Tefcold EL53 is a chest freezer built for commercial bulk frozen storage. With just under 500 litres of usable capacity, it suits operations that need to hold significant volumes of frozen stock without the footprint or cost of a multi-door upright cabinet. The solid insulated lid design contributes to temperature retention and helps manage running costs during periods of frequent access.

In a working catering environment, chest freezers of this type earn their place in back-of-house areas where the priority is storage depth rather than rapid retrieval. They are commonly used for batch storage of portioned proteins, bulk ice cream, bread products, and larger catering packs that would be impractical to store in a reach-in upright. The solid lid construction helps maintain consistent internal temperatures even in warmer kitchen or prep areas, reducing the recovery load on the compressor after access.

Practical day-to-day advantages include:

• Internal light supports stock visibility without prolonged lid-open time
• Digital temperature display allows monitoring without opening the unit
• Low-temperature warning alert flags any deviation that could compromise stock safety
• Solid lid retains cold air more effectively than glass-lid equivalents during service periods
• Straightforward basket-based internal organisation for bulk stock management

From a practical standpoint, chest freezers require level flooring and adequate clearance around the condenser for ventilation. They are not suited to kitchens where front-of-house display or frequent single-item retrieval is the primary use case — an upright cabinet would be more appropriate in those settings. They also require staff to lean over the rim to access contents at depth, which is worth considering for anyone with specific manual handling requirements.

The EL53 is best suited to catering operations, food production sites, butchers, fishmongers, and hospitality venues that need to hold large quantities of frozen goods and can dedicate a stable floor position to the unit. For sites needing more modest capacity, a smaller chest freezer may be more practical. For high-frequency access or display purposes, an upright alternative would be worth exploring.

If you are weighing up whether a chest freezer or an upright cabinet better suits your storage workflow, we are happy to talk through the operational differences before you commit.

The Tefcold EL22SS is a 200-litre freestanding chest freezer built for commercial use. Its most practical feature is a stainless steel lid that doubles as a usable work surface, helping to earn back some of the floor space the unit occupies. It is straightforward, reliable equipment aimed at operations that need dependable bulk frozen storage without committing to an upright cabinet.

In a working kitchen, chest freezers of this type tend to hold stock drawn down across a shift rather than accessed constantly — portioned proteins, bread products, ice cream, frozen garnishes, and similar bulk items. The chest configuration naturally retains cold air when the lid is opened, which supports stable temperatures during repeated access over a busy service. A digital temperature display allows staff to confirm safe operating conditions at a glance, and a low-temperature warning indicator provides an additional layer of food safety monitoring. An internal light aids visibility when retrieving items during service.

The practical operational advantages include:

• Stainless steel lid provides a hygienic, easily cleaned secondary work surface
• Digital temperature readout reduces reliance on manual temperature checks
• Low-temperature warning light supports food safety compliance monitoring
• Internal light aids stock retrieval and reduces time spent searching
• Chest design retains cold air on opening, supporting temperature stability

Installation is uncomplicated. This is a freestanding unit requiring a standard mains connection and adequate ventilation clearance around the condenser. It should be sited away from heat sources such as ovens, fryers, or areas of direct sunlight, as ambient heat increases energy draw and places unnecessary strain on the refrigeration system. Because access is from the top, it is worth considering overhead clearance and the working height of your team before settling on a location. It is also worth being clear that the chest format is not the right choice where stock needs to be retrieved quickly and frequently throughout service — in those situations, a shelved upright freezer would be a better fit.

This unit is well suited to smaller restaurants, café kitchens, catering prep operations, and hospitality venues where frozen goods are held in bulk and accessed periodically. It also works well in back-of-house storage areas where access frequency is low. For sites with significantly higher frozen storage demands, or where rapid and frequent stock rotation is part of the daily workflow, a larger or upright alternative is likely to serve better.

If you would like to talk through whether this freezer suits your storage requirements and kitchen layout, our team is happy to help before you commit to an order.

The Tefcold EL31LT is a low temperature chest freezer with a 300-litre capacity, designed for the bulk storage of frozen goods in commercial environments. Low temperature models are built to operate at deeper temperature ranges than standard chest freezers, making them suitable for products that require more stringent preservation conditions — including certain ready meals, ice cream, and other temperature-sensitive frozen goods.

Static cooling distributes temperature evenly throughout the cabinet without the noise and airflow of a fan-driven system. In practice, this means fewer cold spots and more consistent conditions across the stored product load. A digital controller allows staff to monitor and adjust the set temperature directly, with a visual alarm to flag any deviation — a useful safeguard in environments where stock value or food safety compliance matters.

From an operational standpoint, the EL31LT offers several practical advantages for catering businesses:

• Even temperature distribution supports consistent product preservation without reliance on fan circulation
• Digital readout allows quick visual checks without opening the lid
• Visual temperature alarm prompts staff action before stock is compromised
• 100mm insulation reduces thermal loss, which contributes to more stable running costs over time
• Integrated defrost drain simplifies routine maintenance and reduces cleaning time

As a chest freezer, the EL31LT requires sufficient floor space and clear lid clearance above — it is not suited to areas with low ceilings or restricted overhead access. Electrical supply requirements should be confirmed prior to installation. This type of unit is typically used in back-of-house storage rather than front-of-house or pass environments.

This model is well suited to smaller catering operations, hospitality venues, or food retail settings where bulk frozen storage capacity is needed without a large equipment footprint. Sites with significantly higher storage demands, or those requiring walk-in or upright cabinet solutions, may find that a higher-capacity alternative is a better fit.

If you are unsure whether this unit suits your storage volumes or site conditions, our team is happy to talk it through with you before you make a decision.

The Tefcold LHF460SS is a large-capacity freestanding chest freezer with a stainless steel lid, designed for commercial operations that need reliable bulk frozen storage without the complexity of a walk-in or multi-door upright cabinet. The 416-litre capacity puts it at the larger end of the chest freezer range, making it a practical choice for sites that need to hold a meaningful volume of frozen stock on-site and access it throughout the working day.

In operational terms, chest freezers of this size are commonly used for bulk proteins, pre-portioned items, frozen bakery goods, ice cream stock, and similar products where the priority is holding a substantial reserve rather than rapid retrieval of individual items. The chest configuration has a natural advantage on repeated opening — cold air settles and is retained more effectively than in an upright, which matters on busy sites where the lid is lifted frequently during a shift. Static cooling also avoids the circulating airflow that can dry out loosely packaged or unpackaged goods over time.

From a day-to-day standpoint, the unit offers several practical advantages worth noting:

• Chest format holds cold air effectively on repeated opening during service
• Stainless steel lid withstands surface wear in busy kitchen and storage environments
• Lockable lid supports stock security and food safety compliance
• Defrost drain simplifies routine maintenance and reduces downtime
• Freestanding installation requires only a standard mains supply

Installation is straightforward — the unit needs level, stable flooring, adequate clearance around the casing for ventilation, and a standard mains connection. It should be sited away from direct heat sources such as ovens or fryers, and out of direct sunlight. The main practical consideration with any chest freezer is floor footprint rather than wall space, and access to items stored at depth can slow retrieval. Using internal baskets or dividers makes a meaningful difference to day-to-day organisation.

This freezer is well suited to pubs, small hotels, independent restaurants, and catering businesses that need a dependable primary or overflow bulk frozen storage solution. It is less suited to operations where fast, high-frequency retrieval of many individual SKUs is the priority — in those cases, an upright multi-door freezer cabinet is likely to serve the workflow better. For sites with significantly greater overall storage demands, a higher-capacity unit is worth considering.

If you want to talk through whether this unit fits your storage layout and service pattern before ordering, the team is happy to help.
