The Utopia Columbia is a classic tall conical latte glass, widely used in cafés, coffee shops, and hospitality venues that serve espresso-based hot drinks. At 370ml it comfortably accommodates a standard latte with room for a good depth of foam, and the straight-sided conical profile suits both presented and self-service settings.

Made from toughened glass, the Columbia is built to handle the thermal shock that comes with hot drink service — something that untreated glassware tends to struggle with when subjected to repeated temperature changes across a busy shift. It is glasswasher safe, which matters in any environment where throughput is high and turnaround between covers needs to be quick.

  • Toughened construction resists thermal shock during hot drink service
  • Tall conical profile suits latte, flat white, and hot chocolate presentation
  • Glasswasher safe for fast turnaround in busy service environments
  • Supplied in packs of six, practical for building or topping up cover sets
  • Clear glass allows the drink layers to show cleanly for presented service

These glasses are a practical, no-fuss choice for coffee shops, hotel breakfast service, casual dining venues, or anywhere hot drinks are served in volume. They are suited to sites that want a clean, familiar latte glass without the fragility concerns of standard glassware. For very high-volume operations where breakage rates are a significant factor, it is worth discussing whether a heavier-duty or larger pack option might be more cost-effective over time.

If you are speccing glassware across a new site or want guidance on quantities relative to your cover count, the team is happy to help you work through what you need.

Frequently asked questions

Are these glasses suitable for use with a commercial glasswasher?

Yes, the Columbia is glasswasher safe and the toughened construction helps it withstand the repeated thermal cycling that comes with regular machine washing. That said, as with all glassware, avoiding sudden extreme temperature changes — such as placing a cold glass directly into a very hot wash cycle — will extend service life.

How many packs would a typical café need to open with?

A common starting point is roughly three times your expected simultaneous cover count for hot drinks, to allow for glasses in use, in the wash, and in reserve. A site turning 20 latte covers at a time might look at 10–12 packs as a working minimum, though this depends on your wash cycle speed and service pace. If you are unsure, we can talk through the numbers with you.

Is the 370ml size suitable for all espresso-based drinks?

The 370ml capacity works well for a standard latte or a generous hot chocolate, and the tall profile handles flat whites and chai lattes comfortably too. For venues serving primarily smaller drinks such as cortados or macchiatos, a smaller glass may present better — it is worth considering your full menu before committing to a single size.
