The Mitre Essentials Spectrum valance is a double-size bed valance designed for hotel and hospitality linen programmes. Cut with a kick pleat finish, it sits neatly around a standard double divan base and provides a clean, uniform appearance across guest rooms. It is produced in a 50/50 polycotton blend, which balances the durability and easy-care performance of polyester with the softer handle of cotton.

In a hotel environment, linen needs to withstand frequent laundering without deteriorating quickly. The polycotton construction holds its shape and colour well through regular commercial wash cycles. The fabric is rated for washing at 60°C, which meets standard hotel hygiene protocols, and is suitable for tumble drying, reducing turnaround time in a busy linen room. Dark colours, including this green colourway, should be washed separately to maintain colour integrity over time.

  • Kick pleat construction for a neat, consistent divan presentation
  • 50/50 polycotton blend for durability and ease of care
  • 60°C wash rating suitable for hotel hygiene requirements
  • Tumble dry compatible to support high-turnover linen operations
  • Available across a wide colour range to match room schemes

The valance has a standard 35cm drop, which suits most standard divan bed frames used in UK hotel rooms. It is worth confirming your bed base dimensions before ordering in volume, as non-standard or platform-style bases may require a different drop length.

This valance is well suited to hotels, guest houses, and serviced accommodation operators looking for a reliable, colour-coordinated linen option at a practical price point. If you are fitting out multiple room types or need to match across a broader linen range, the team are happy to help you work through the options.

Frequently asked questions

Is the 35cm drop suitable for standard hotel divan bases?

A 35cm drop is the standard for most UK hotel divan beds and will suit the majority of installations. If your property uses non-standard, low-profile, or platform-style bases, it is worth measuring the clearance from the top of the base to the floor before ordering, as a different drop length may be more appropriate.

How does the polycotton fabric hold up to repeated commercial laundering?

The 50/50 polycotton blend is specifically chosen for hospitality use because it combines the shape retention and strength of polyester with the softer feel of cotton. It performs well through regular commercial wash cycles at 60°C and is less prone to shrinkage or distortion than pure cotton alternatives, making it a practical choice for high-turnover linen operations.

Can this valance be used alongside other products in the Spectrum range?

Yes, the Spectrum range is designed as a coordinated collection, so this valance is intended to work alongside fitted sheets, flat sheets, and pillowcases produced in the same fabric and colour options. If you are building out a full room linen package, the team can advise on which items are available in matching colourways.
