These serving tongs are part of Amefa's Buffet range, for buffet counters, carvery stations and self-service displays. Each pair is 18/10 stainless steel with a PVD coating in copper or black. Choose your colour from the dropdown. Each pack contains 12 tongs.

PVD is a vacuum process that bonds a hardwearing colour layer to the steel. The finish holds through repeated dishwasher cycles, which matters when utensils turn around several times a service. Copper does not patinate or tarnish like genuine copper, and black fits darker or monochrome presentation schemes.

  • Copper or black PVD finish for a uniform buffet line
  • 18/10 stainless steel construction withstands regular commercial use and washing
  • Dishwasher safe, simplifying end-of-service turnaround
  • Pack of 12 supports multi-station buffet layouts without frequent restocking

Suited to hotel restaurants, event and wedding venues, conference centres and contract caterers running buffet or carvery service. Both colours are the same price.

If you are putting together a coordinated buffet set or working out quantities across several stations, the team is happy to help.

Frequently asked questions

How many tongs will a typical hotel breakfast or wedding buffet require?

It depends on the number of dishes and stations, but a general rule is one pair of tongs per dish, with a spare set in rotation through the wash. A pack of 12 will cover most medium-sized buffet layouts comfortably, though larger operations or those running multiple sittings in quick succession may benefit from ordering two packs to maintain a clean spare at all times.

Will the copper PVD finish hold up to daily commercial dishwasher use?

PVD-coated utensils are generally more durable in commercial dishwashers than painted or lacquered finishes, as the coating is bonded at a molecular level rather than applied as a surface layer. With normal commercial washing, the copper appearance should remain consistent over the product's working life, though heavily abrasive cleaning agents or scouring are best avoided.

Are these tongs suitable for hot food service or just cold buffet displays?

These tongs are designed as buffet serving pieces and are well suited to both cold and ambient food displays. For hot-hold service directly from chafing dishes or heated counters, they will function adequately, though prolonged exposure to high heat may over time affect any coated finish — this applies to PVD pieces across the board, not just these tongs specifically.
