  • Edge chip cover for 5 years. The manufacturer’s terms apply 5

The Churchill Bamboo Rimmed Bowl is a wide-rimmed porcelain bowl with an embossed rim pattern drawn from the natural, irregular forms of bamboo. The relief lines draw the eye inward toward the bowl centre — a considered design detail that works well for plated starters, desserts, or dishes where presentation is part of the service proposition.

Produced in porcelain with Churchill's Eco glaze, these bowls are built to hold up through continuous commercial service. The glaze is developed specifically for durability under repeated dishwasher cycles, and the bowls carry a five-year edge chip warranty — a practical indicator of how they perform in real wash-up and handling conditions. For operations running multiple covers each service, that level of resilience is worth taking seriously.

  • Wide rim provides a clear presentation surface for garnish and sauce work
  • Embossed bamboo pattern adds visual texture without complicating cleaning
  • Porcelain construction retains heat reasonably well for hot-served dishes
  • Eco glaze formulated for durability through heavy dishwasher use
  • Sold in packs of 12, practical for stocking by course or cover count

At 247mm, this is a generous bowl — well suited to a substantial starter, a main-course serving, or a composed dessert, rather than a side or amuse-bouche piece. The Bamboo collection spans multiple pieces, so building or extending a coordinated table setting across plate sizes and bowls is straightforward if that matters to your front-of-house presentation.

If you are working through how this size fits your plating style, or coordinating across a full cover, the team is glad to talk it through with you before you place an order.

Frequently asked questions

Is this bowl the right size for a main course or is it better suited to starters?

At 247mm diameter, this is a generous bowl that works well for a substantial starter, a composed main course, or a structured dessert. It is larger than a typical side or amuse-bouche piece, so it is worth considering your portion sizes and plating style before committing — if you are unsure, the team can help you assess fit against your menu.

How does the Eco glaze hold up in a busy commercial dishwasher environment?

Churchill's Eco glaze is specifically developed for durability through repeated commercial dishwasher cycles, and the five-year edge chip warranty reflects that intent. In practice, performance will also depend on rack loading, detergent concentration, and wash temperature, so following Churchill's care guidelines will help maintain the finish over time.

Can these bowls be used as part of a coordinated table setting with other Churchill Bamboo pieces?

Yes — the Bamboo pattern runs across multiple pieces in the Churchill range, including plates and other bowl sizes, which makes it practical to build or extend a coordinated cover without mixing unrelated designs. If you are planning a full table setting, it is worth mapping out the pieces you need across each course before ordering.
