Metcalfe NS300HD Heavy Duty Gravity Feed Slicer 300mm

Product No: 5S301N

Product Description

The Metcalfe NS300HD is a heavy-duty gravity-feed slicer designed for commercial kitchens and food preparation environments where slicing is a regular, high-volume task rather than an occasional one. Built throughout from high-polished anodised food-grade aluminium, it sits above Metcalfe's medium-duty range and is engineered to handle larger products, longer daily running periods, and sustained throughput without the wear and inconsistency that lighter machines can develop under that kind of demand.

In service, the NS300HD runs quietly thanks to a twin poly V-belt driven transmission, which also contributes to smooth, even cutting across a full range of products — large cooked joints, cured meats, charcuterie, and similar preparations. The 300mm hollow ground chromed carbon steel blade and ball-bearing carriage work together to deliver consistent slice quality across a full shift, with adjustable thickness giving operators flexibility to adapt between products and presentation styles without changing tooling or interrupting service.

Two areas that matter most in any food prep operation — hygiene and safe working — are well addressed in the design:

  • Integrated self-aligning sharpener and de-burring unit keeps the blade in consistent working condition without separate tooling
  • Carriage, blade cover, blade, and sharpening unit all detach for thorough end-of-day cleaning
  • Smooth, rounded edges throughout minimise trap points and speed up cleaning routines
  • Transparent slicing guard supports safe operation during service
  • Fully interlocked blade guarding protects staff during cleaning and blade handling

The NS300HD is a countertop unit and requires a stable, level work surface with adequate clearance for full carriage travel. The footprint is deliberately substantial to maintain stability when working with larger, heavier products, so it is worth confirming bench dimensions — particularly front-to-back depth — before installation. It runs from a standard single-phase supply and does not require any specialist electrical provision.

This slicer is well suited to deli counters, restaurants, workplace and school canteens, supermarkets, butchery counters, and catering preparation kitchens where slicing is a regular, high-frequency part of the operation. It is not intended for light or occasional use, and it performs best where that level of output is genuinely needed day to day. For sites running a slicer continuously across multiple shifts at very high volume, a heavier-specification machine may be worth considering instead.

If you would like to talk through whether the NS300HD fits your service volume and working environment, the team is happy to help you work it out before you commit.
