Moffat Focus Polar Unit Cold ServeryProduct Description
The Moffat FTPG3 Focus Polar is a self-contained chilled servery designed to display cold accompaniments — butter, mayonnaise, coleslaw, relishes, and similar condiments — at the point of service. It requires no electrical connection. A eutectic ice pack is frozen overnight and fitted into the base before service, providing the cold source for a defined service window through GN-compatible Polar-plates set into a shallow stainless steel well. An illuminated gantry and fitted sneeze guard complete the unit, giving a presentable, front-of-house appearance without the need for any fixed installation.
In a busy service environment this unit performs well where a neat, self-contained chilled condiment display is needed for a predictable service period. Carvery stations, buffet counters, event hospitality, and mobile catering setups are all common and appropriate applications. It is worth being straightforward about its limits: the eutectic pack carries a finite cold reserve, and ambient temperature will influence how well it holds safe temperatures through a longer or warmer service. It is not a substitute for a mains-powered refrigerated display where extended holding or higher product volumes are needed.
- No mains connection required — genuinely portable for events and mobile use
- Illuminated display with sneeze guard for clean front-of-house presentation
- Simple daily preparation — freeze the pack overnight and fit before service
- GN-compatible Polar-plates for straightforward container sizing
- Compact footprint suits existing carvery and servery counter layouts
This unit is well suited to smaller operations, event caterers, and venues with a seasonal or occasional need for a chilled condiment display rather than a permanent refrigerated solution. For sites with longer service periods, high ambient temperatures, or larger display requirements, a powered alternative may be a better fit. If you are unsure whether the eutectic format will work for your service conditions, we are happy to talk it through before you commit.

Moffat Focus Polar Unit Cold ServeryFrequently Asked Questions
- This depends on the ambient temperature of your service environment and how frequently the unit is accessed. In a typical air-conditioned or temperate front-of-house setting the pack will generally cover a standard service period, but in warmer environments or extended services you should assess whether a mains-powered refrigerated display would be more reliable. If you are unsure, it is worth discussing your specific service conditions with us before purchasing.
- The FTPG3 can work well for outdoor events, but high ambient temperatures will reduce how long the eutectic pack holds its cold reserve, so it is less predictable in warm conditions than a powered unit. For outdoor summer use or long service windows in heat, we would recommend considering whether a powered alternative better suits the risk profile of your operation.
- The well uses GN-compatible Polar-plates, so standard GN containers will fit and sizing is straightforward for most operators already working with GN kit. If you have specific container configurations in mind, it is worth confirming compatibility before ordering.
