Shoes For Crews
Shoes for Crews Madison Dress Shoe Black
£65.66(£78.79 inc VAT)
The Shoes for Crews Madison is a leather dress shoe designed for hospitality and catering staff who need professional-looking footwear without compromising on safety underfoot. It sits within Shoes for Crews' workwear range and is intended for both front of house and back of house environments where a smarter appearance is expected alongside practical slip resistance.
The sole is built around Shoes for Crews' proprietary anti-slip technology, which performs well on wet, greasy, or smooth hard floor surfaces — the kind of conditions common in commercial kitchens, bar areas, and restaurant floors. The raised heel adds a degree of professional finish to the silhouette, which makes the shoe a reasonable choice where uniform standards require a more polished look without moving to a purely formal shoe.
From a practical standpoint, the leather upper keeps the shoe straightforward to maintain on shift. A wipe-down after service is generally sufficient for routine marks and spillages, and the material holds up well to the day-to-day knocks of a busy environment. At 248g, the shoe is relatively lightweight for an all-day wear role, which can matter over a long double shift.
- Slip-resistant sole suited to wet and greasy floor surfaces
- Leather upper — durable and easy to clean between shifts
- Smart enough for front of house uniform standards
- Lightweight construction for extended wear comfort
The Madison is best suited to staff in customer-facing roles or supervisory positions where appearance matters alongside safety. It is not a heavy-duty safety boot and would not be appropriate where toe protection or more robust sole construction is required. For roles with greater physical risk — such as delivery, porterage, or high-heat kitchen work — a more protective option would be worth considering.
If you are equipping a larger team or unsure which footwear is right for a specific role, we are happy to help you work through the options before you order.
Available in EU sizes 36, 37, 40, 41 and 42. Select your size from the drop-down menu.

Frequently asked questions
Are these shoes suitable for back of house kitchen work as well as front of house?
The Madison can be worn in both environments, and the anti-slip sole is well suited to the wet and greasy floor surfaces common in commercial kitchens. However, it does not incorporate toe protection, so where your risk assessment requires safety toe coverage — such as in roles involving heavy deliveries or equipment handling — a shoe with full safety specification would be more appropriate.
How does the anti-slip sole perform on different floor types?
Shoes for Crews design their soles specifically for hospitality environments, and the Madison performs reliably on smooth hard floors, wet tiles, and surfaces with grease or liquid spillage. Performance will always depend on how well floors are maintained, but the sole technology is a practical step up from standard leather or dress-shoe soles in most commercial settings.
How should the Madison be cleaned and maintained during regular use?
The leather upper can be wiped down with a damp cloth after each shift to remove surface marks and spillages, which is sufficient for routine maintenance. For longer-term condition and appearance, occasional use of a suitable leather conditioner will help preserve the material, particularly in environments where the shoe is exposed to heat or frequent moisture.
