Steelite Gembrook Coffee Cups 325ml (Pack of 24)
£146.00(£175.20 inc VAT)
The Steelite Gembrook range offers a 325ml coffee cup in grey or white with a reactive glaze, produced in collaboration with Off Grid Studio. Each piece is made from fully vitrified stoneware, which gives the body good resistance to chipping and crazing under the repeated thermal cycling of a busy service environment.
Because the reactive glaze is applied individually during firing, no two cups come out identically. The variation in tone and surface texture is intentional. It gives a venue's table setting a handcrafted, informal feel without the fragility or unpredictability of true artisan pottery. The glaze also offers a degree of stain resistance, which is a practical consideration wherever coffee and tea are being served at volume.
These cups are well suited to independent cafés, hotel breakfast operations, casual dining rooms, and any front-of-house setting where a more characterful aesthetic is preferred over uniform white porcelain. They arrive in a 24-piece pack, which works sensibly for opening stock or topping up an existing set.
The reactive glaze finish means colours will vary batch to batch, so ordering in one go is advisable if visual consistency across the room matters to you. As with all stoneware, check your dishwasher cycle parameters: the vitrified body handles commercial washing well, but aggressive detergents and very high temperatures over time can affect any glazed surface.
If you are putting together a full table setting or have questions about which cup and saucer combinations work best for your service style, we are happy to help.

Frequently asked questions
Will the cups look consistent across a full table setting?
Because a reactive glaze is used, each cup will vary slightly in surface tone and pattern — this is a deliberate characteristic of the range rather than a quality issue. If visual uniformity is important for your venue, it's worth ordering your full requirement in one batch, as colour variation can occur between production runs.
Are these cups suitable for use in a commercial dishwasher?
The vitrified stoneware body is designed to withstand the thermal and mechanical demands of commercial dishwashing. As with any glazed stoneware, prolonged exposure to very high-temperature cycles or harsh alkaline detergents can gradually affect the glaze surface, so it's worth checking your machine's settings are appropriate for the ware type.
Is the 325ml size appropriate for a standard café menu?
325ml works well for a wide range of espresso-based drinks including flat whites on the larger end, lattes, and americanos. It sits in a practical middle ground that suits most café menus, though if your operation leans heavily toward smaller espresso or macchiato service you may want to consider a smaller cup size alongside.
