Refrigerated Buffet Units

The Roller Grill SB 60 F is a refrigerated self-serve buffet display unit built for front-of-house presentation of chilled foods. It accepts a full 6/1 GN capacity across a range of container combinations, making it practical for starters, salads, cold meats, prepared desserts, and similar dishes that need to be held at safe chilled temperatures throughout service.

In operation, this unit is well suited to extended buffet service periods. Hotel breakfast service, lunch buffet, and function catering are its most common settings. The unit runs on castors — two of which lock — giving operators the ability to reposition it between services, clean behind it, or move it between spaces as the day demands. In hotels and multi-function venues where the same room serves different purposes across a day, that kind of flexibility has real practical value.

Key features that translate directly into service-floor benefits include:

• Upper illumination to present chilled dishes clearly without supplementary lighting
• Integrated sneeze guard to support food safety compliance in self-serve settings
• Tray slides on both sides for smooth, unobstructed guest access
• Open lower shelf for spare containers or service items
• Wooden body available in light oak, dark oak, or mahogany to suit dining room aesthetics

Because the body is constructed from wood rather than stainless steel, this unit belongs in a dining room or front-of-house environment rather than a production kitchen. Cleaning protocols need to be planned with that in mind — a wood finish requires more careful maintenance than a stainless surface and will not tolerate the same cleaning agents or water exposure.

The SB 60 F is a sound choice for hotels, function venues, and catering operations running self-service buffet formats at moderate volumes. For higher-volume or more demanding environments, a heavier-duty refrigerated display may serve better. If you are weighing up capacity against your expected covers, or have specific finish or space requirements, it is worth talking through before placing an order — we are happy to help work out whether this unit fits your setup.

The Polar G-Series refrigerated buffet bar is a mobile chilled display unit designed for self-service food presentation in hospitality and catering environments. It holds up to four full-size gastronorm trays in a refrigerated well, making it practical for displaying cold salads, desserts, prepared fruit, or similar chilled items during service. The black finish gives it a clean, professional appearance that sits comfortably in front-of-house settings.

In a busy buffet or cafeteria environment, the unit holds chilled food at safe serving temperatures across a full service period without requiring constant intervention. The integrated LED lighting makes trays easy to see and access, while the adjustable tray slides allow the layout to be reconfigured to suit different GN container depths. The sneeze screen provides a practical hygiene barrier without making the display difficult for diners to use.

From an operational standpoint, this unit offers a number of day-to-day advantages:

• Mobile on castors — can be repositioned between service periods or for cleaning
• Digital temperature controls allow straightforward setup and monitoring
• Ambient storage below the chilled well is useful for plates, condiments, or serving utensils
• R600a refrigerant carries a low global warming potential, supporting sustainability commitments
• LED lighting is energy efficient and adds visual appeal without generating excess heat

Because the unit runs on a standard electrical supply and is self-contained, installation is straightforward — there are no water connections or drainage requirements. The main practical consideration is weight: at over 120kg, it needs a firm, level surface and should be moved with care. It is not suited to uneven flooring or locations where frequent repositioning over distances is required.

This unit is well suited to hotels, contract caterers, workplace restaurants, and education catering where a reliable, presentable chilled buffet display is needed for moderate service volumes. It is a single-unit format, so operators running high-volume or extended buffet lines may want to consider a larger or multi-bay configuration to meet demand.

If you're unsure whether this unit will cover your service volumes or fit your space, our team is happy to talk through the details before you commit.

The Moffat VC5RW Versicarte Pro is a refrigerated cold well servery unit designed for front-of-house food display in buffet, cafeteria, and servery counter environments. It holds five full-size GN positions across the well and uses Moffat's Polar Air Stream system — a continuous curtain of cold air that circulates across the food surface and recirculates back through the unit rather than relying solely on base contact cooling.

In practice, contact-only cold wells can struggle to maintain safe temperatures once GN pans are disturbed during service, swapped mid-run, or exposed to warm ambient air for extended periods. The Polar Air Stream approach addresses this more directly, which makes the VC5RW better suited to prolonged buffet periods or busy cafeteria runs where consistent temperature across the display matters throughout service.

From an operational standpoint, the unit offers several practical characteristics worth noting:

• Accepts various GN pan combinations up to 60mm depth, supporting flexible menu layouts
• Available in a range of colours and finishes to suit different front-of-house environments
• Designed to work as part of a modular servery line alongside hot wells and heated counters
• Gantry options — curved, flat, deli-style, and island formats, many with integrated lighting — available separately to match your counter layout
• GN pans sold separately, allowing pan configuration to be matched to service requirements

The VC5RW is supplied as a base unit without tray slide or gantry as standard. Selecting the right gantry depends on counter orientation, sight lines, and whether the unit will sit against a wall or operate as a free-standing island. Getting this right before ordering avoids installation rework. Operators running very high-volume continuous service in particularly warm or demanding environments may want to consider whether a unit with greater refrigeration capacity would be more appropriate for their specific conditions.

This unit is well suited to schools, hospitals, workplace restaurants, hotels, and high street cafeterias where chilled food display is central to the service operation.

If you are planning a new servery counter or replacing an existing cold well, it is worth a conversation before you commit — we are happy to talk through gantry options, pan layouts, and how the VC5RW fits alongside the rest of your counter build.

The Moffat VC4RW Versicarte Pro is a refrigerated cold well servery unit built for cafeteria counters, hotel buffets, and staff restaurants where chilled food needs to be held at safe serving temperatures across a full service period. Unlike static cold wells that rely on contact cooling alone, the VC4RW uses Moffat's Polar Air Stream system — a continuous circulating curtain of cold air across the open well — to maintain temperature even as staff and customers access the unit repeatedly throughout service.

In practice, this distinction matters. Static cold wells can lose temperature quickly when disturbed frequently, particularly during peak periods. The Polar Air Stream design is built around continuous-access use, which means the unit sustains consistent chill across the well rather than recovering from each interruption. The well accepts four full 1/1 GN trays and supports interchangeable GN combinations, giving operators reasonable flexibility in how products and portions are laid out across the counter.

From an operational standpoint, the VC4RW offers several practical advantages:

• Continuous air circulation maintains chill despite frequent well access during service
• Flexible GN compatibility allows varied portion sizes and product layouts
• Open-well design supports both self-service and staffed counter configurations
• Available in a range of colours and finishes to integrate with existing counter aesthetics
• Gantry configurations available separately for overhead merchandising or signage

It is worth being clear about what is and is not included. The base unit is supplied without a tray slide or gantry. Gantry options — curved or flat, open or closed, with or without a mid shelf or integrated lighting — are specified and ordered separately. The right configuration depends on your counter layout, service style, and whether overhead display space is needed, so it is worth planning the complete counter build before ordering rather than selecting the gantry as a secondary consideration.

The VC4RW is well suited to cafeterias, hotel buffets, healthcare dining, and workplace restaurants where chilled food is displayed and served continuously across regular service windows. For sites with significantly longer service periods, higher throughput, or more complex multi-section counter builds, a higher-capacity model within the Versicarte range may be worth considering.

If you are planning a new counter build or fitting this unit into an existing servery line, our team are happy to talk through gantry selection, counter compatibility, and whether the VC4RW is the right specification for your operation.

The Moffat VC3RW Versicarte Pro is a refrigerated cold well servery unit designed for structured food service lines — cafeteria counters, hotel buffet runs, staff restaurants, and food-to-go operations where chilled display needs to hold consistently throughout service. It accommodates three full-size 1/1 GN trays and uses Moffat's Polar Air Stream system, which circulates a continuous curtain of cold air across the well rather than relying solely on contact cooling from below.

In practice, this approach makes a difference during busy service. When trays are accessed repeatedly, lids are lifted, and the unit is exposed to ambient kitchen or dining room heat, a purely contact-based system can struggle to maintain even temperatures across the well. The recirculating air stream is designed to hold a reliable cold zone throughout the service period, which is relevant both for food safety compliance and for maintaining product quality at the counter.

From an operational standpoint, the VC3RW offers several practical advantages:

• Polar Air Stream system maintains consistent chilled temperatures during active service
• Three full GN bays give flexible product display and portion management
• GN pans up to 60mm depth accommodate reasonable product volume for portioning
• Base unit integrates into broader servery configurations via separately available gantry options
• Available in a range of colours and finishes to suit different counter aesthetics

As refrigeration equipment, the unit requires a suitable mains electrical supply and adequate ventilation clearance around the condenser. It is not a blast chiller — product should always be loaded at safe chilled temperatures rather than brought down to temperature in the well. Gantry options are not included with the base unit; configuration choices will affect overall counter height and footprint, so it is worth planning the full layout before ordering.

The VC3RW sits in the mid-range of the Versicarte Pro range and is well suited to operations running a defined service line with moderate to high footfall. Higher-volume sites or those requiring a longer well run may find a larger-format unit more appropriate; lighter-use or smaller sites may not need this level of capacity.

If you're planning a servery layout from scratch or adding refrigerated display to an existing counter, it's worth a conversation before you commit — gantry configuration, counter integration, and service volume all influence which setup works best.

The Moffat VC2RW Versicarte Pro is a refrigerated cold well servery designed for buffet and cafeteria-style operations. It holds two full-size GN trays and uses Moffat's Polar Air Stream system — a continuously recirculating curtain of cold air — to maintain safe serving temperatures across the display surface throughout service.

The Polar Air Stream approach is particularly well suited to self-service environments. Because the cooling works through circulating air rather than base contact alone, temperature maintenance stays reasonably consistent even when customers are actively serving and lids are open. That makes it more practical for extended lunchtime or evening service periods than simpler contact-cooled alternatives.

From a day-to-day operational standpoint, the unit offers several worthwhile advantages:

• Accepts standard GN pans up to 60mm deep, giving flexibility in portion sizing and presentation
• Continuous air recirculation helps sustain safe display temperatures during open service
• Part of the modular Versicarte system, so counters can be extended or reconfigured as requirements change
• Available in a range of colours and finishes to complement existing counter aesthetics
• Compatible with a variety of gantry configurations to suit different service layouts

This is the base unit only — supplied without a gantry or tray slide. Gantry options including curved, flat, open, closed, deli-style, and island configurations are available separately, with or without a mid shelf. The gantry choice affects both workflow and the finished appearance of the counter, so it is worth settling on the configuration before ordering. GN pans are not included.

The VC2RW is well suited to school and workplace cafeterias, hotel buffet stations, staff restaurants, and similar operations running a cold food display through a defined service window. Sites with higher throughput or greater display capacity requirements may find a larger unit from the same Versicarte range a better fit for their volume.

If you would like to talk through gantry options, counter layout, or whether this unit is the right size for your service, our team is happy to work through the details with you.

The Roller Grill SBC 40 F is a freestanding island-format refrigerated display unit designed for self-service and semi-supervised buffet presentation in commercial dining environments. Accessible from all four sides, it accommodates GN containers and is intended for chilled items such as salads, cold starters, desserts, and similar preparations. The unit is built around a wooden-bodied frame with brushed stainless steel trims, glazed upper sections, and integrated LED lighting to present food clearly at counter level.

In a busy service environment, consistent holding temperature is what matters most for both food safety and presentation quality. The SBC 40 F uses conductive cooling through direct contact with the stainless steel base plate, keeping GN containers at a stable chilled temperature throughout service. Automatic defrost cycles run without manual intervention, reducing workload on floor staff during service and helping maintain reliable performance across extended lunch or dinner periods. The Tecumseh compressor is a well-regarded unit in commercial refrigeration, and the accessible internal layout keeps routine checks and maintenance straightforward.

From an operational standpoint, the practical advantages of this unit include:

• Four-sided access allows guests or staff to serve from any position, suiting island or central buffet layouts
• Drop-down shelves on each side provide a convenient resting surface for plates or serving tools
• Automatic defrost removes a regular manual task during or between service periods
• Braked castors allow the unit to be repositioned and locked securely for different service formats
• Under-body storage provides a practical space for plate stock directly beneath the display

The SBC 40 F runs on a standard electrical supply and requires adequate floor space for an island unit intended to be accessed from multiple sides — allow sufficient circulation room for guests and service staff around all four faces. GN trays are not supplied with the unit and will need to be sourced separately to match your container requirements. The castors allow reasonable repositioning within a space, though the unit should be kept on level flooring for the refrigeration system to operate correctly. As with any refrigerated display, it should be sited away from direct heat sources such as hot holding units or cooking equipment to avoid placing unnecessary load on the compressor.

This unit is well suited to hotels, restaurants, staff canteens, and contract catering operations running a self-service or semi-supervised buffet format. It works particularly well where a central island presentation is preferred over a linear servery run. For operations requiring a counter-integrated or wall-against chilled display, or for high-volume sites needing a larger refrigerated footprint, alternative configurations are available within the range.

If you are planning a buffet layout and want to talk through whether this unit fits your service format and available space, the team is happy to help before you commit to an order.

The Roller Grill SBM 40 F is a mobile, wall-sited refrigerated buffet unit designed for front-of-house food presentation in self-serve settings. It accepts GN containers up to 150mm deep across a display area equivalent to 4/1 GN, allowing operators to mix and match container sizes to suit the menu — chilled salads, prepared proteins, starters, or made-ahead desserts all work comfortably within that footprint.

In service, the unit maintains chilled holding temperatures across the display while integrated upper illumination presents food clearly without requiring any additional lighting work. The built-in sneeze guard supports hygiene compliance in open buffet environments, and tray slides on both sides allow guests to serve themselves without reaching over the display. The open lower shelf gives staff a practical space to keep backup portions close at hand during a service run, reducing the need to return to the kitchen mid-service.

From an operational standpoint, the SBM 40 F offers several practical advantages:

• Integrated upper illumination improves food presentation without additional fitting
• Sneeze guard supports hygiene compliance in open self-serve settings
• Flexible GN container combinations to suit changing menus
• Wooden body available in multiple finishes to complement front-of-house décor
• Two locking castors allow repositioning between services or across multi-use spaces

Because the unit runs on castors rather than being fixed, there is no permanent installation, but access to a suitable electrical supply is required for the refrigeration and lighting. The wooden body construction means this unit is best kept in temperature-controlled indoor environments — it is not suited to open kitchen conditions or outdoor use. It is worth checking that the intended floor surface can handle castored movement under load before settling on a position.

The SBM 40 F is well suited to hotels, conference venues, and event caterers running breakfast or lunch buffets at small to medium covers. Its display capacity works well as part of a broader buffet line; operators running extended or high-volume sittings may find it more effective paired with additional display units rather than used in isolation. For venues with particularly high throughput or larger display requirements, a higher-capacity alternative may be worth considering.

If you would like to talk through whether this unit suits your service format, room layout, or existing buffet setup, we are happy to help before you commit.

The Roller Grill SB 40 F is a mobile refrigerated buffet display unit designed for self-serve and assisted-service settings. It presents chilled food across a 4/1 GN total footprint, accepting container combinations up to 150mm deep — practical for starters, salads, cold meats, and prepared dishes laid out in an accessible, organised arrangement. An illuminated upper gantry and sneeze guard are built in, so the unit arrives ready for front-of-house use without additional fitout.

In hotel dining rooms, conference catering, and café buffet environments, the unit performs reliably during extended service windows where chilled food needs to hold safe temperatures across a spread of covers rather than a single rush. The refrigerated well maintains consistent temperatures throughout service, reducing food safety risk during longer buffet periods. Being fully mobile on castors — two of which lock — it can be repositioned between service areas or secured in place without difficulty, which is genuinely useful in flexible or multi-function spaces.

The features operators tend to find most useful in practice:

• Locking castors for stable positioning or easy repositioning between services
• Illuminated upper gantry presenting food attractively without additional lighting fitout
• Sneeze guard supporting hygiene compliance in unsupervised self-serve areas
• Tray slides on both sides to support smooth customer flow along the unit
• Open lower shelf providing accessible storage during service

The cabinet is finished in a wood-effect surround, available in light oak, dark oak, and mahogany. This suits operations where room aesthetics matter — hotel dining rooms and function suites in particular. It is worth being clear that this is a presentation-focused unit with a decorative finish; it is not intended for back-of-house use or high-abuse environments. A suitable power supply will be needed nearby, and the unit should be positioned to allow adequate airflow around the refrigeration components.

This unit is well suited to hotels, event caterers, and cafés running self-serve or semi-supervised buffets where mobility, presentation quality, and chilled food safety are the main requirements. For operations running permanent or higher-volume buffet installations with heavier day-to-day demands, a counter-integrated or larger-format refrigerated display is likely a better fit.

If you are working out whether this unit suits your service format, room layout, or cover numbers, the team is happy to talk it through before you commit to anything.

The Victor RW30MSG is a mobile refrigerated well unit designed for buffet and cafeteria servery lines where chilled food presentation needs to be maintained consistently throughout service. The well accepts full-size gastronorm pans at 100mm depth, making it practical for salads, cold starters, dressed proteins, and similar preparations that must be held at a safe serving temperature from opening to close. An ambient storage compartment beneath the well provides accessible space for backup product or service items during a busy run.

During a long lunch or dinner service, the refrigerated well maintains temperature without requiring ongoing operator attention. Automatic defrost and condensate management reduce the workload at the end of service — a practical consideration in kitchens where staff are already stretched. The fluorescent gantry overhead illuminates the display without introducing heat into the well, which is an easy detail to overlook when specifying chilled servery equipment but has a genuine effect on holding performance over extended service periods.

From an operational standpoint, the unit offers several practical advantages for servery environments:

• Chilled well holds consistent temperature across full GN pan depth throughout service
• Fluorescent gantry improves food presentation without affecting well temperature
• Ambient storage below keeps backup product to hand during service
• Automatic defrost and condensate handling reduces end-of-service workload
• Mobile configuration allows flexible and changeable servery layouts

Stainless steel construction with radiused well corners keeps cleaning straightforward after service. The unit is supplied with a 2-metre cable and 13-amp plug, so no specialist electrical installation is required — though access to a suitable socket and sufficient counter space should be factored into positioning. As a mobile unit it is not designed to integrate into a fixed counter run, and sites running very high-volume continuous service may find a larger chilled display better suited to their throughput.

This unit is well suited to hotels, contract catering operations, staff restaurants, and hospitality venues running buffet or cafeteria-style service where chilled food presentation sits alongside hot holding. For higher-volume sites or those requiring greater pan capacity, heavier-duty options in the wider range are worth considering.

If you are planning a new servery layout or want to talk through whether this unit fits your service style and volumes, the team is happy to help before you make a decision.

The Victor RW30MS is a mobile refrigerated salad well designed to sit within or alongside a buffet or cafeteria servery line. It holds full-size GN pans in a chilled well, maintaining cold food at a consistent and safe serving temperature throughout the service period. An enclosed ambient section beneath the well provides practical storage for backup pans, spare stock, or serving accessories.

Maintaining consistent chilled presentation during a busy service is often more challenging than it appears. The RW30MS uses a self-contained refrigeration system that operates reliably in typical servery ambient conditions, holding the well contents within the recommended safe zone for cold food display without requiring staff to intervene. Automatic defrost and condensate management mean the unit looks after itself during service — particularly useful in environments where the team is focused on throughput rather than equipment monitoring.

From a practical standpoint, the unit offers several advantages that operators in cafeteria, education, and hospitality settings tend to value:

• Radiused interior corners make cleaning between service periods quicker and more thorough
• Stainless steel construction throughout is durable and straightforward to maintain
• Standard 13A plug connection requires no dedicated electrical supply or installation work
• Mobile design allows repositioning between services or across different servery configurations
• Ambient storage below provides useful space for spare pans, condiments, or serving accessories

The unit runs from a standard 13A socket on a 2m cable, so no specialist electrical requirements or site work are involved. Being mobile, it integrates readily into an existing buffet line or can operate as a standalone cold display. It is worth confirming that your servery layout can accommodate the unit's footprint and that adequate ventilation clearance is available at the rear before ordering.

The RW30MS is well suited to cafeterias, hotel buffet operations, staff restaurants, and education catering where chilled salad or cold food display is needed alongside a hot servery line. It is designed for moderate to busy service volumes. Sites requiring greater chilled capacity or more intensive continuous-use refrigeration may find a heavier-duty unit better suited to their needs.

If you would like to talk through whether this unit fits your servery layout or service pattern, our team is happy to help before you commit.
