Rational Chemicals

This is Rational's own-brand liquid descaler, developed specifically for use with CombiMaster and ClimaPlus Combi ovens. It is designed to remove limescale build-up from the oven's water system and steam generation components — the kind of build-up that, if left unchecked, gradually undermines cooking performance and shortens equipment lifespan.

In hard and medium-hard water areas, scale accumulation is one of the most common causes of reduced steam output and inconsistent cooking results in combi ovens. Regular descaling with the correct product helps keep the steam generator and internal water pathways clear, maintaining the cooking conditions the oven was calibrated to deliver.

Using Rational's own descaler rather than a generic alternative is worth considering. Rational's combi ovens are precision pieces of equipment with specific material tolerances, and the manufacturer's own chemistry is formulated to be compatible with those components. Using non-approved products can, in some cases, affect internal parts or void servicing arrangements.

• Formulated specifically for Rational combi oven water systems
• Helps maintain steam output and cooking consistency
• Supports compliance with Rational's recommended maintenance programme
• Suitable for use in hard and medium-hard water areas
• Part of a complete Rational chemical care range

How frequently you descale will depend on your local water hardness and how heavily the oven is used. Kitchens in hard water regions running the oven through multiple service periods daily will typically need to descale more often than lighter-use sites.

If you're unsure about the correct descaling frequency for your site, or whether your water hardness warrants additional water treatment measures, the team is happy to advise.

This is Rational's own liquid detergent, developed specifically for use with CombiMaster and ClimaPlus combi ovens. It is supplied in a 10-litre container and is designed to be used as part of the oven's built-in automatic cleaning programme rather than as a general-purpose cleaner.

Rational combi ovens are built with an integrated cleaning system that meters detergent and rinse aid automatically through each cleaning cycle. Using the correct detergent matters here — the dosing system is calibrated for Rational's own chemistry, and using an incompatible product can affect cleaning performance, leave residues, or in some cases cause issues that may affect warranty coverage. This detergent is formulated to work within that system without modification.

In practical terms, the auto-clean function on these ovens is designed to run at the end of service with minimal operator involvement. The detergent does the heavy work on baked-on grease and food residues inside the cavity, so that the oven is ready for the next service without requiring manual scrubbing. For a busy kitchen running multiple services a day, this makes a meaningful difference to kitchen workflow and hygiene consistency.

This product is straightforwardly suited to any site already running a Rational CombiMaster or ClimaPlus oven that uses the automatic cleaning cycle. It is a consumable that needs regular replenishment — the 10-litre volume is a practical supply for most kitchens over several weeks, depending on cleaning frequency and programme intensity selected.

If you are unsure which cleaning products are correct for your specific Rational model, or how to set up cleaning programmes for your kitchen's usage pattern, the team is happy to help clarify before you order.

Rational's Active Green cleaner tabs are the manufacturer-specified cleaning consumable for iCombi Pro and iCombi Classic combi ovens fitted with Efficient Care Control. They are formulated to work directly with the oven's built-in automated cleaning programmes, delivering the correct detergent concentration for each cycle without requiring manual intervention or separate chemical measuring.

In a working commercial kitchen, oven cleanliness has a direct bearing on cooking consistency and equipment life. Grease and food residue that builds up across services can affect airflow, impair steam generation, and interfere with sensor accuracy. Using the correct manufacturer-specified tab ensures the automated cycle performs as the oven's software expects — with the chemistry matched to the programme parameters rather than approximated by a third-party alternative.

A practical consideration for sites in areas with variable water quality is that the Active Green formulation is designed to operate without the need for a separate water softener or routine manual descaling. This reduces day-to-day maintenance demands and simplifies stock management. Operational advantages include:

• Matched to Rational's automated cleaning cycle parameters on compatible models
• Works in typical commercial water conditions without a separate water softener
• Removes grease and food soiling through a multi-ingredient cleaning complex
• Eliminates manual descaling between services under normal operating conditions
• Supplied in cartons for straightforward stores-room stock control

These tabs are appropriate for any site running a compatible Rational iCombi Pro or iCombi Classic with Efficient Care Control — including hotel kitchens, contract catering, restaurants, and education catering. It is worth noting that using non-Rational cleaning products in these ovens can affect how cleaning programmes perform and may carry warranty implications.

If you are working through which Rational cleaning consumables are correct for your oven model or want to check compatibility, the team is glad to point you in the right direction.

These are the genuine Rational-formulated cleaning tablets designed specifically for use with the SelfCookingCenter and CombiMaster Plus ranges. They are the red tabs used in Rational's automated cleaning programmes and are sold in a tub of 100.

Rational engineers the chemistry of these tabs alongside the oven's cleaning cycles, which means the concentration and release profile of the active ingredients is calibrated to work with the built-in programme rather than against it. Using third-party alternatives can affect cleaning results and, in some cases, may affect warranty compliance — so operators running Rational equipment are generally better served staying with the manufacturer's own chemistry.

In a busy kitchen, reliable oven hygiene is not just about compliance — it directly affects food quality and oven longevity. Grease and residue left in a combi oven accelerates wear on seals and internal components. Consistent use of the correct cleaning tabs as part of each cleaning cycle helps maintain the oven in the condition it was designed to operate in.

These tabs suit any kitchen running Rational SelfCookingCenter or CombiMaster Plus equipment, from single-unit hotel kitchens through to multi-oven production sites. If you are unsure which cleaning programme or tab type applies to your specific oven model or generation, the team is happy to advise before you order.

Rational Care Tabs are the manufacturer's own maintenance consumable for iCombi Pro, iCombi Classic, and SelfCookingCenter units fitted with CareControl. They are used as part of the oven's automated care cycle, working to protect the internal water circuit and steam-generating components from the gradual accumulation of limescale and mineral deposits.

Water quality has a direct bearing on how consistently a combi oven performs and how long it remains in reliable service. Limescale build-up in the steam system is one of the more common causes of performance drift and unplanned downtime in high-use units. These tabs address that progressively rather than reactively — the formulation is intended to prevent scale taking hold in the first place, which reduces the need for more disruptive descaling procedures that take the oven offline during service.

• Prevents limescale accumulation in the steam circuit during normal operation
• Reduces component wear associated with prolonged mineral deposit build-up
• Supports consistent steam output and cooking performance throughout service
• Integrates directly with the oven's CareControl automated dosing system
• Supplied in a tub suited to regular, ongoing use in a working kitchen

Being a Rational-specified product matters here. The tabs are formulated to work within CareControl as the system was designed to operate. Substituting non-approved alternatives can affect how the care cycle functions and may carry implications for warranty coverage — something worth weighing carefully when comparing against lower-cost options.

Water hardness varies considerably across different parts of the UK, and the appropriate care schedule for a site can differ from one operation to the next. If you'd like to talk through care intervals or water quality considerations for your kitchen, the team is happy to help you work it out.

These are the phosphate-free cleaning tablets produced by Rational for use with their SelfCookingCenter and CombiMaster Plus combi ovens equipped with Efficient CareControl. Supplied in tubs of 130 red tablets, they are the consumable component the oven's automated cleaning system is designed to use.

Rational's automated cleaning programmes rely on the correct tablet chemistry to work as intended. These tabs are highly concentrated and formulated to break down grease, protein residue, and carbonised deposits that accumulate during heavy service — the kind of soiling that builds up quickly in a busy kitchen running roasting, steaming, and combination cycles throughout the day. Using the correct Rational-specified tabs helps ensure the cleaning cycle performs to its designed standard and that oven cavity surfaces, steam generators, and drainage components are properly maintained over time.

Using the manufacturer's own cleaning consumables in a Rational oven is worth considering for several practical reasons:

• Formulated specifically for Rational's CareControl cleaning programmes
• Phosphate-free formula reduces environmental load in wastewater
• Highly concentrated — each tab is calibrated to the oven's dosing system
• Red tab identification helps kitchen teams distinguish cleaner tabs from rinse tabs
• Supplied in a 130-tab tub suitable for regular ongoing use

It is worth confirming which cleaning tab type and colour your specific Rational model requires before ordering. Rational ovens use different tab types depending on the model generation and the cleaning programme in use, and using the wrong tab can affect cleaning results or, in some cases, trigger programme errors. If you are unsure which consumables your oven needs, the team is happy to help you confirm the right specification.
