The Mitre Comfort Aquasoft Mattress Protector is a quilted protector bonded to a waterproof polyurethane backing. It is designed to provide a degree of sleeping comfort while protecting the mattress from moisture, making it a practical choice for hotel guest rooms and similar hospitality environments where mattress longevity and hygiene are an ongoing operational concern.

In a hospitality setting, mattress protectors take considerable daily wear through guest turnover, laundry cycles, and housekeeping handling. The quilted upper layer adds a soft surface feel without significantly altering the character of the mattress beneath, while the PU coating acts as a barrier against liquid penetration. The 25cm deep elasticated skirt is designed to stay securely in place across king size mattresses during normal use and through the making and stripping of beds by housekeeping staff.

Practical advantages for hospitality operators include:

  • Waterproof PU backing helps protect mattress investment from moisture damage
  • Quilted surface layer adds comfort without bulk
  • Deep 25cm skirt provides a secure fit on standard king size mattresses
  • Suitable for regular commercial laundry cycles
  • Economical price point supports procurement across multiple rooms

As with any hospitality linen, it is worth confirming wash temperature compatibility with your laundry operation before committing to volume orders, particularly if you are running high-temperature commercial washing programmes.

This protector is well suited to budget-conscious hotel and guesthouse operators looking for a reliable everyday solution across standard king size rooms. For properties with specific infection control requirements or higher-specification bedding programmes, a heavier-duty or fully breathable alternative may be worth considering.

If you are equipping multiple rooms or want to discuss which specification best fits your property's laundry and guest experience standards, the team is happy to help you work through the options.

Frequently asked questions

Is this protector suitable for use with commercial laundry equipment?

It is designed for regular commercial laundering, but you should confirm the maximum recommended wash temperature with Mitre before running it through high-temperature programmes. Some PU-backed protectors have wash temperature limits that differ from standard linen, and exceeding these can affect the integrity of the waterproof layer over time.

Will the 25cm skirt fit all king size mattresses?

The 25cm deep skirt is sized for standard UK king size mattresses. If your property uses particularly deep mattresses with pillow-top or euro-top constructions, it is worth measuring your mattress depth before ordering in volume to confirm the skirt will sit securely without lifting during use.

Is this protector appropriate for properties with specific infection control requirements?

The PU backing provides a basic moisture barrier suitable for general hospitality use, but it is not certified to clinical or medical infection control standards. Properties with more stringent requirements — such as care homes or medical hospitality environments — should consider a fully certified impermeable protector rated for the relevant protocols.
