Vestfrost Chest Freezers

The Vestfrost SE255 is a 247-litre chest freezer designed for commercial environments where reliable, low-maintenance frozen storage is needed without complex installation. It runs from a standard 13-amp socket, which removes the need for a dedicated electrical circuit and gives operators genuine flexibility over where the unit is positioned — prep rooms, back-of-house storage, outbuildings, or any space with a suitable socket.

In practice, chest freezers of this type perform well when the priority is bulk frozen storage rather than frequent, organised access to varied stock. The deep-chest configuration holds temperature effectively when the lid is opened during busy prep periods, as cold air sits naturally at the base rather than spilling out the way it does with an upright cabinet. The skin condenser design and well-insulated body help maintain consistent temperatures without the compressor working harder than necessary, which also supports running costs over time.

From a day-to-day operational standpoint, the SE255 offers several practical advantages:

• Counter-balanced lid holds open safely during loading and stock retrieval
• Lockable handle allows frozen stock to be secured when required
• 13-amp connection removes the need for any electrical installation work
• Suitable for unheated outbuildings and supplementary storage areas
• R600a refrigerant contributes to energy-efficient ongoing operation

It is worth being straightforward about the limitations of the chest format. These units occupy more floor space per litre of capacity than upright cabinets, and retrieving items from the bottom of the chest during service can be less efficient where stock rotation is frequent. If your operation relies on quick, organised access to a wide variety of frozen products throughout service, an upright freezer cabinet is likely to suit day-to-day workflow better.

The SE255 is well suited to smaller catering operations, cafés, hospitality venues, or event catering setups that need dependable bulk frozen storage without the infrastructure requirements of a larger unit. It also works well as overflow capacity at sites where the main refrigeration setup is already in place. For higher-volume operations or environments where faster recovery after loading is a priority, a larger or more heavy-duty unit may be worth considering.

If you are weighing up whether a chest freezer is the right configuration for your setup, or want to talk through how it would sit alongside your existing refrigeration, the team is happy to have that conversation with you.

The Vestfrost VT407-60 is an ultra-low temperature chest freezer designed to reach and hold temperatures as low as -60°C. This is not a conventional commercial freezer — it occupies a distinct category, built for applications where sustained deep cold is genuinely critical rather than simply preferred. Typical uses include long-term storage of biological samples, vaccines, pharmaceuticals, and specialist food products that cannot be safely held at standard deep-freeze temperatures.

Where a commercial chest freezer operates in the -18°C to -25°C range, this unit works in a considerably more demanding thermal band. The single-compressor system is engineered for stable, continuous operation at these extreme temperatures, and the digital controller maintains precise conditions throughout the cabinet. An audible and visual alarm system flags any deviation from the set point immediately — an important feature in environments where temperature excursions need to be documented and minimised for regulatory or audit purposes.

From an operational standpoint, this unit offers several practical advantages for compliant, secure ultra-low storage:

• Prepared for external temperature logging to support audit trails and compliance records
• Compatible with CO2 backup systems for critical or regulated storage environments
• Fitted lock to control access and protect product or sample integrity
• Hydrocarbon refrigerant for a lower environmental impact than synthetic alternatives
• Single-phase supply connection — no specialist gas or water services required

Installation is relatively straightforward given the performance involved. The unit runs on a standard single-phase supply and requires no dedicated gas or water connections. That said, adequate ventilation around the cabinet is essential — the thermal load of reaching and holding -60°C is significant, and siting the unit in a well-ventilated room, away from heat sources, is important for reliable long-term operation. Operators should also account for the unit running continuously within its rated ambient temperature range.

This freezer is best suited to laboratories, medical and pharmaceutical storage facilities, research environments, and any specialist food operation with a genuine requirement for ultra-low temperature conditions. It would not typically be specified for standard catering or food service use, where a conventional commercial chest or upright freezer would be more appropriate and considerably more economical to run. If your requirement falls within the standard deep-freeze range, a different class of equipment is likely the right choice.

Ultra-low temperature storage often sits within regulated or compliance-driven environments, and it is worth discussing your specific conditions — room temperature, logging requirements, backup provision — before committing to a unit. The team is glad to work through the details with you.

The Vestfrost VT307-60 is a chest freezer built for cold storage applications that fall well outside the range of standard commercial refrigeration. Where conventional freezers operate down to around -20°C or -25°C, this unit is designed to hold temperatures as low as -60°C, making it suitable for environments where standard freezing is simply not cold enough — including laboratory sample preservation, pharmaceutical and plasma storage, biological material, and specialist medical or research settings.

Temperature consistency is the central requirement in these applications, and the chest configuration supports stable, even cold distribution throughout the cabinet volume. The unit is designed to hold its set point reliably over extended periods, which matters when stored materials are sensitive to even modest temperature excursions. Chest freezers at this specification are typically opened infrequently, and the design reflects that — prioritising long-term stability over fast access. The single-compressor system is engineered to keep energy consumption at a reasonable level relative to the extreme temperatures it sustains, which is a practical consideration when the unit is expected to run continuously over months or years.

Key operational characteristics worth noting:

• Stable temperature holding to -60°C for sensitive and regulated storage
• Chest design supports consistent cold distribution across the full cabinet
• Single-compressor system keeps running costs manageable for continuous use
• Low maintenance demands reduce operational burden over time
• Plug-in installation without complex commissioning requirements

Installation is straightforward on a plug-in basis, which is simpler than remote-condensing alternatives. However, ultra-low temperature equipment of this type generates considerable heat from the condenser and requires adequate ventilation clearance on all sides. Placing the unit in a confined or poorly ventilated room will affect performance and may shorten the life of the compressor. Floor load capacity should also be confirmed before siting — units at this specification carry meaningful weight. Ambient temperature conditions in the room should be within the manufacturer's stated operating range.

This freezer is suited to laboratories, research facilities, pharmacies, medical environments, and similar settings with a defined requirement for ultra-low temperature storage. It is not a general-purpose catering or food service freezer. For standard frozen food storage or blast-freeze applications, a different product category would be more appropriate.

If you have questions about whether this specification is right for your application, or want to discuss ventilation requirements and siting before committing, we are happy to talk it through.

The Vestfrost SZ362-STS is a chest freezer designed for commercial bulk frozen storage. With a 373-litre capacity and a stainless steel top panel, it is a practical unit for operators who need reliable, accessible frozen storage without the footprint of a full upright cabinet. The chest configuration allows large or awkwardly shaped items to be stored flat, which suits operations holding bulk ice cream, frozen pastry, portioned proteins, or catering packs that do not fit neatly on upright shelving.

Chest freezers of this type are well suited to environments where the lid is opened repeatedly throughout a shift. The design retains cold air effectively even under frequent access because cold air naturally settles rather than spilling forward as it does in an upright unit. This makes the SZ362-STS a practical choice for busy service periods where staff are regularly retrieving frozen goods. The unit operates at 38dB, which is quiet enough for use in storage areas, back-of-house preparation rooms, or smaller retail environments without becoming a noise nuisance.

Practical benefits for day-to-day operation include:

• Stackable internal baskets allow organised product separation and faster stock rotation
• Chest layout reduces cold air loss during repeated openings compared to upright cabinets
• Stainless steel top panel provides a cleanable, durable surface that can double as a preparation or staging area
• Quiet 38dB operation suits mixed-use environments where noise management matters
• Straightforward interior design with no complex shelving mechanisms to maintain or replace

Installation is straightforward. The unit requires a standard single-phase power supply and adequate ventilation clearance around the casing — check the manufacturer's clearance requirements before positioning in a confined space or alcove. The chest footprint is wider than an equivalent upright, so floor space planning is important, particularly in compact preparation areas. It is not intended for front-of-house display purposes.

This model suits catering operations, small food production sites, or retail environments that need dependable bulk frozen storage with good internal organisation. It works well as a secondary freezer alongside a main upright cabinet, or as a dedicated unit for a specific product category such as ice cream or frozen bakery. For higher-volume operations requiring greater capacity or more frequent stock access, a larger or multi-section unit may be worth considering.

If you are unsure whether this size is right for your storage requirements or kitchen layout, our team is happy to talk it through with you before you commit.

The Vestfrost SZ464-STS is a large-capacity commercial chest freezer designed for reliable bulk frozen storage in catering and food retail environments. With a 456-litre capacity and a stainless steel top panel, it is built for sites where consistent low-temperature storage is needed day in, day out — whether that is a busy kitchen, a food production unit, or a retail or wholesale operation handling high volumes of frozen goods.

Chest freezers of this type are well suited to storing items that need to be kept in quantity but are not accessed with the same frequency as items in an upright cabinet. Ice cream, frozen desserts, bulk proteins, and pre-portioned frozen goods are all common applications. The SZ series is designed to tolerate regular openings without significant temperature instability, which matters in environments where staff are dipping in throughout a service period.

From an operational standpoint, the key practical advantages are:

• Stackable internal baskets support organised stock rotation and easy retrieval
• Stainless steel lid surface is easy to wipe down and more durable than painted alternatives
• Running noise of 38dB keeps ambient kitchen noise levels manageable
• Large capacity reduces the need for frequent restocking from external cold stores
• Chest configuration retains cold air more effectively when opened than upright alternatives

Installation is straightforward relative to refrigerated cabinets — no specialist ventilation is required, and the unit runs on a standard mains supply. That said, the footprint of a 456-litre chest freezer is substantial, so available floor space and access routes should be confirmed before ordering. Weight when loaded is a consideration for sites with raised flooring or specific load-bearing constraints.

This model is well suited to catering operations, food retail businesses, or production kitchens that need dependable bulk frozen storage without the cost or complexity of a walk-in freezer. For smaller sites with more limited space, lower-capacity chest freezer options are available. For very high-volume operations requiring more frequent access, an upright freezer cabinet may be a more practical configuration.

If you are unsure whether this capacity is right for your operation or want to talk through how it would fit into your existing cold storage setup, the team is happy to help you work through the options.

The Vestfrost SZ362-WH is a chest freezer designed for commercial frozen storage where reliable, consistent performance matters more than footprint. At 373 litres, it offers a practical volume for operators who need to hold meaningful stock — bulk ice cream, frozen portioned goods, backup protein, or pre-prepared items — without committing to a walk-in or upright cabinet installation.

Chest freezers of this type are well suited to commercial environments where the freezer is opened regularly throughout service. The chest configuration retains cold air more effectively than an upright during frequent access, reducing temperature fluctuation and helping the unit maintain safe storage temperatures even during busy periods. The included stackable baskets allow stock to be organised by category or date, which supports basic FIFO rotation without significant reorganisation effort.

From an operational standpoint, this unit offers several practical advantages:

• Chest design limits cold-air loss during frequent lid openings
• Stackable baskets support organised stock rotation and FIFO practice
• Rated at 38dB, it operates quietly enough for front-of-house or small prep areas
• Self-contained refrigeration requires no specialist ventilation infrastructure
• Suitable for ambient storage environments where floor space allows

Installation is straightforward by commercial refrigeration standards — the unit is freestanding and does not require a water connection or external ventilation ducting. It does need adequate clearance around the casing for heat dissipation, and floor loading should be considered before siting. This is a chest configuration, so access is from the top; operators working in tight spaces or requiring quick single-item retrieval should factor that into their decision.

The SZ362-WH is a practical choice for catering businesses, convenience-style operations, food production sites, and smaller hospitality venues needing dependable bulk frozen storage. It is less suited to applications requiring frequent full-cabinet access under time pressure, where an upright cabinet may be more practical. For sites with significantly higher storage demands, larger-capacity alternatives are available in the range.

If you are weighing up whether this size and format is right for your operation, we are happy to talk it through before you place an order.

The Vestfrost SE325 is a 323-litre chest freezer built for commercial use. It provides straightforward, high-capacity bulk frozen storage without the cost or footprint of a walk-in, and is manufactured in Denmark. The use of R600a refrigerant gives it a lower environmental impact than units running on older refrigerant types.

Chest freezers of this type suit operations that draw down frozen stock in batches rather than accessing it repeatedly throughout a busy service. The deep storage cavity and well-insulated body help maintain stable temperatures even in warm back-of-house or outbuilding environments, and the counterbalanced lid makes stock retrieval safer and more practical during busy periods. The skin condenser design reduces dust accumulation over time, which helps maintain efficiency with minimal maintenance effort.

From an operational standpoint, the SE325 offers several practical advantages:

• Low energy consumption keeps running costs manageable during continuous 24-hour operation
• Lockable lid handle provides basic stock security in shared or multi-staff environments
• Suitable for outbuildings, dry stores, and back-of-house areas beyond the main kitchen
• Runs from a standard 13-amp socket — no dedicated electrical installation required
• Skin condenser reduces dust build-up compared to exposed coil designs

Because the unit plugs into a standard 13-amp socket, there is no need to involve an electrician before installation. Position it wherever a suitable socket is available, ensuring adequate clearance around the unit for airflow and sufficient overhead space for the lid to open fully. If the unit is going into an outbuilding or onto a raised floor, the loaded weight should be factored into the planning.

The SE325 is well suited to pubs, event caterers, smaller food production sites, and catering businesses that need dependable bulk frozen storage alongside or separate from their main refrigeration. It works particularly well as a secondary freezer for items such as frozen meat, bread, or batch-prepared dishes. Operations that need frequent access during service, or that handle very high volumes of frozen stock turnover, may find an upright commercial freezer cabinet a better fit for their workflow. For larger-scale or higher-throughput requirements, heavier-duty chest or upright options are available.

If you are weighing up whether this size and format suits your storage needs, the team is happy to talk it through before you go ahead.

The Vestfrost VT147-60 is a specialist ultra-low temperature chest freezer capable of maintaining stored contents at temperatures down to -60°C. This is not a piece of general catering refrigeration — it is a purpose-built unit for applications where sustained deep-freeze storage well beyond the reach of standard commercial freezers is a genuine operational requirement.

Reliable temperature retention is the defining priority at these depths, and the VT147-60 is built around that demand. Its single-compressor low-energy system uses a hydrocarbon refrigerant to support stable, consistent temperatures over extended periods, avoiding the drift that can compromise sensitive stored materials. The digital XR30CX controller gives operators clear, real-time visibility of the internal environment, and the unit comes prepared for temperature logging and an external CO2 backup connection — both meaningful features where auditable temperature records are a regulatory or compliance requirement.

From an operational standpoint, several practical details are worth noting:

• Audible and visual alarms alert staff immediately to any temperature deviation
• Lock fitted as standard, supporting access control and security requirements
• Cyclopentane insulation supports thermal efficiency and keeps running costs in check
• Hydrocarbon refrigerant carries a lower environmental impact than many synthetic alternatives
• Plug-and-play electrical connection reduces installation complexity

Installation does not require specialist gas or water connections, but adequate ventilation around the unit matters at this depth of temperature. Placement in a well-ventilated, temperature-stable room will support consistent long-term performance. The chest configuration means lid access rather than door access, which suits fixed-position storage workflows better than high-turnover retrieval environments.

This freezer is best suited to laboratories, medical and research facilities, pharmaceutical storage, and similar specialist environments where sustained ultra-low temperatures are a firm operational requirement. It is not intended as a primary freezer for food service kitchens operating at standard commercial temperatures — if your requirement sits in the conventional range, a standard commercial chest or upright freezer would be more appropriate and more cost-effective.

If you have questions about temperature logging capability, room conditions, or whether this specification matches your storage requirements, the team is happy to work through the detail with you.

The Vestfrost SZ248-WH is a 256-litre capacity chest freezer from the SZ series, designed to provide straightforward, economical frozen storage in commercial settings. Chest freezers of this type are commonly used for bulk storage of ice cream, frozen portions, meat, and other high-volume frozen goods where frequent access is needed throughout a service period.

In a busy kitchen environment, chest freezers tend to retain their temperature more effectively than upright models when opened repeatedly, because cold air settles to the bottom of the cabinet rather than spilling out at door height. The SZ248-WH is built to tolerate the frequent opening that comes with commercial use, maintaining stable internal temperatures without excessive compressor cycling. Running at 40dB, it operates at a relatively low noise level, which is worth noting if the unit is to be positioned in a front-of-house area or smaller prep space.

Practical advantages for kitchen operators include:

• Stackable internal baskets for organised separation of different product lines
• Good cold retention when the lid is opened repeatedly during service
• Economical running costs compared with many upright freezer configurations
• Straightforward access to bulk items stored at depth

Chest freezers do require adequate floor space and clear overhead access for the lid to open fully — this is worth checking before installation. They are less suited to tight galley kitchens where footprint is a constraint. For operations with higher storage demands or a need for more granular temperature management across multiple product types, a larger or upright alternative may be worth considering.

The SZ248-WH is well suited to small-to-medium catering operations, ice cream parlours, takeaways, and any site needing reliable bulk frozen storage without the cost of a larger walk-in or multi-door configuration. If you are unsure whether this capacity is the right match for your storage volumes or kitchen layout, we are happy to talk it through.

The Vestfrost VT547-60 is a purpose-built ultra-low temperature chest freezer capable of maintaining internal temperatures down to -60°C. It is not a food service unit — this is specialist equipment designed for environments where precise, sustained deep-freeze conditions are a functional and often regulatory requirement. Typical applications include laboratory sample preservation, pharmaceutical and plasma storage, veterinary specimen holding, and other clinical or research settings where standard commercial freezers simply do not reach low enough.

Performance in these environments is measured by temperature stability rather than throughput. The unit's well-insulated cabinet and low-energy single-compressor system work together to hold a consistent set point over extended periods, which is what matters when samples or materials cannot tolerate temperature excursions. The digital controller provides a clear readout of the current internal temperature, and audible and visual alarms will alert users immediately if conditions drift outside the target range — an important feature in any compliance-sensitive setting.

Several practical features support professional and regulated use:

• Prepared for external temperature logging — supports audit trails and compliance documentation
• Prepared for CO2 backup connection — helps maintain storage conditions in the event of a power interruption
• Lock fitted as standard — appropriate where controlled access is required
• Hydrocarbon refrigerant — lower environmental impact than synthetic alternatives
• Cyclopentane insulation — supports efficient thermal retention across the full cabinet volume

Installation requires a standard single-phase mains supply and adequate ventilation around the unit for condenser heat rejection. Performance is best in ambient-controlled rooms; hot plant rooms or poorly ventilated storage areas can reduce efficiency. The chest lid requires clear vertical clearance above it for access, and the unit will take some time to pull down to its minimum operating temperature from ambient when first commissioned — this should be factored into any start-up plans.

This unit is well suited to hospitals, clinical and research laboratories, pharmaceutical stores, and veterinary facilities. It is not intended for catering or food service use, and operators looking for bulk food storage or blast-freeze capability would need a different class of equipment entirely. Sites requiring multiple units or integration with centralised monitoring systems are worth thinking through carefully before purchase.

If you would like to talk through whether this unit's temperature range, capacity, or backup provisions are appropriate for your specific application, we are glad to help before you place an order.

The Vestfrost VT306-45 is a deep ultra-low temperature chest freezer designed to hold storage conditions as low as -45°C. This places it in a different category entirely from standard commercial catering freezers, which typically operate in the -18°C to -22°C range. It is built for environments where the integrity of stored contents depends on sustained, stable sub-zero temperatures over extended periods — not for high-turnover food production or blast-chilling applications.

In practice, this type of unit is valued for its thermal stability rather than rapid temperature pull-down. The chest configuration helps retain cold mass when the lid is opened, which is important in settings where frequent access could otherwise compromise stored contents. Recovery after access is steady and consistent, and the single-compressor design keeps running costs at a manageable level given the demands of operating at extreme temperatures.

From an operational standpoint, the practical advantages include:

• Deep sub-zero range suitable for biological, medical, or laboratory storage requirements
• Chest design limits cold air loss on opening compared to upright configurations
• Single-phase plug-in connection with no specialist plumbing or ventilation required
• Straightforward controls that do not require specialist technical knowledge to operate
• Single-compressor system helps manage energy consumption at extreme operating temperatures

Installation is uncomplicated — the unit runs on a standard single-phase supply and requires adequate clearance around the casing for airflow. It is worth checking that the floor loading in the intended location is suitable for the weight of a fully loaded unit. Ambient room temperature has a meaningful effect on compressor workload and energy use, so a cool, well-ventilated space is preferable to a warm plant room or south-facing storage area.

This freezer is best suited to laboratories, veterinary practices, hospitals, pharmaceutical storage facilities, and similar environments where dependable ultra-low temperature retention is the primary requirement. It is not the right choice for standard food service freezing. If your requirement is conventional commercial food storage, a standard catering chest or upright freezer would be a more appropriate and cost-effective option. For applications at the other end of the scale — extremely high-value or highly temperature-sensitive contents — it is worth discussing your specific requirements with the team before placing an order.

The Vestfrost VT546-45 is a purpose-built ultra-low temperature chest freezer designed to reach and maintain temperatures as low as -45°C. This places it in an entirely different category from standard commercial catering freezers, which typically operate in the -18°C to -25°C range. It is built for environments where temperature stability is critical and where temperature excursions carry serious consequences — laboratories, blood banks, pharmacies, hospitals, and specialist research or food science facilities.

The single-compressor refrigeration system is designed for continuous operation, maintaining stable internal temperatures even as ambient conditions fluctuate. This kind of consistent performance matters in regulated environments where documentation and traceability are as important as the cold storage itself. The unit uses a hydrocarbon refrigerant and cyclopentane foam insulation, both of which carry a lower environmental impact than older synthetic alternatives.

From a practical standpoint, the unit is equipped to support the monitoring and compliance demands of professional storage environments:

• Digital temperature controller with clear, readable display for routine monitoring
• Audible and visual temperature alarms to alert staff to any excursion promptly
• Prepared connections for external temperature logging, supporting audit and compliance requirements
• Option to connect a CO2 backup system, maintaining cold chain continuity during a compressor event
• Lockable lid, appropriate for controlled-access or security-sensitive storage settings

Installation is straightforward on a standard supply connection, but adequate clearance around the cabinet is important given the intensity of the refrigeration cycle — restricted airflow will affect compressor performance over time. This is a substantial piece of equipment, and floor loading should be verified before installation on upper floors or mezzanine levels.

The VT546-45 is well suited to laboratories, healthcare settings, pharmacies, and research institutions with a requirement for certified ultra-low temperature storage. It is not a general-purpose catering freezer, and if your requirement sits within the standard commercial range, a conventional chest freezer will serve the purpose more economically. For sites requiring greater storage volume at ultra-low temperatures, higher-capacity models in this category are available.

If you have specific compliance, temperature range, or installation questions before committing, our team is glad to talk through the details with you.

The Vestfrost SZ464-WH is a chest freezer designed for reliable bulk frozen storage in commercial environments. With 456 litres of usable capacity and a straightforward top-access design, it provides a practical solution for operators who need consistent, economical freezing without the footprint of a large upright cabinet.

Chest freezers of this type are well suited to situations where the unit is opened repeatedly throughout the day. Cold air settles naturally at the bottom of the chest, so each opening results in less temperature loss than a comparable upright unit — a meaningful advantage when staff are frequently accessing stock during a busy service period. The SZ464-WH is built to tolerate this kind of regular use whilst maintaining stable frozen temperatures.

From an operational standpoint, this unit offers a number of practical advantages:

• Stackable internal baskets support organised stock rotation and easy access to different product types
• Top-loading design reduces cold air loss during frequent access
• Low operating noise at 38dB makes it suitable for areas where ambient noise matters
• Economical running costs compared to upright freezer cabinets of similar capacity
• White finish suits back-of-house storage areas and is easy to keep clean

Installation is relatively straightforward — chest freezers require adequate ventilation clearance around the unit and should be positioned on a level surface. Being a self-contained refrigeration unit, there are no water connections or drainage requirements in standard operation. The unit does require access to a suitable mains socket; confirm your supply meets the unit's electrical requirements before installation. Allow sufficient space above the lid for comfortable access when loading and retrieving stock.

This model is a practical fit for smaller catering operations, convenience retailers, ice cream vendors, and back-of-house storage in pubs, cafés, or small restaurants where bulk frozen goods need to be held reliably. For higher-volume sites or operations requiring rapid stock turnover across multiple product lines, a larger-capacity or multi-drawer upright model may be worth considering.

If you are unsure whether this model matches your storage volumes or available space, the team is happy to talk it through with you before you commit to a purchase.

The Vestfrost SB400-STS is a 383-litre chest freezer built for commercial and semi-commercial environments where dependable bulk frozen storage is a routine requirement. Manufactured in Denmark, it features a stainless steel exterior, a counter-balanced lid, and a lockable handle — details that reflect a unit designed with working environments in mind. It runs on a standard 13-amp supply, which means most operators can install it without any electrical work beyond a suitable socket.

Chest freezers of this type are best suited to back-of-house storage rather than front-line service access. The generous capacity makes it a practical choice where freezer space is genuinely constrained — prep kitchens, dry stores, butchery prep rooms, and similar environments where staff are dipping into stock periodically rather than continuously throughout service. The skin condenser design and robust insulation contribute to efficient running over time, which is worth considering for a unit that will operate around the clock.

Key practical advantages include:

• Standard 13-amp connection — straightforward installation with no dedicated supply needed
• Lockable lid handle — useful in shared storage areas or multi-user environments
• Counter-balanced lid — stays open safely during stock retrieval, reducing strain
• Stainless steel exterior — more durable and easier to maintain than painted steel
• Rated for outbuilding use — suitable for external storage where ambient conditions permit

Installation is straightforward provided there is adequate clearance around the unit for ventilation and a flat, stable surface to sit on. Its suitability for outbuilding use makes it a practical option for external or unheated storage areas, though ambient temperature conditions must remain within the unit's operating range. It is not designed for high-frequency access during a busy service period — operators needing that kind of throughput would typically be better served by an upright reach-in cabinet.

This model is well suited to smaller operations, secondary storage roles, or any site that needs reliable bulk frozen capacity without complex installation. Where a larger footprint or more frequent staff access is the primary need, a higher-capacity or upright alternative is worth considering.

If you would like to talk through whether this unit fits your storage layout or intended use, our team is happy to help before you go ahead.

The Vestfrost VT406-45 is a specialist ultra-low temperature chest freezer designed to maintain internal temperatures down to -45°C. This is not a standard commercial catering freezer — it is built for environments where deep, stable freezing is a genuine operational or regulatory requirement. Typical applications include laboratory storage, pharmaceutical and medical facilities, veterinary practices, and specialist food processing operations where conventional freezing depths are insufficient.

The unit runs on a single-compressor system engineered for continuous operation at extreme low temperatures. Temperature stability is central to its design: the cabinet holds consistent internal conditions even as ambient temperatures shift, which matters considerably when the stored materials are sensitive to any variation. A digital controller makes monitoring straightforward, and the unit is prepared for external temperature logging — relevant wherever audit trails are required by protocol or regulation.

From a practical standpoint, the key operational features include:

• Audible and visual alarms for immediate notification of temperature deviation
• Prepared for CO2 backup system integration where protocols require it
• Fitted lock for access control and security
• Hydrocarbon refrigerant for a lower environmental footprint
• Mains-powered with no specialist commissioning needed on installation

Installation is uncomplicated — no gas or water connections are required. Placement does need some thought, however. The unit should be positioned in a well-ventilated space, as ambient temperature around the cabinet directly affects how consistently the compressor can sustain ultra-low operating levels. Floor load capacity is also worth confirming before positioning a fully loaded chest freezer of this size.

This unit is well suited to regulated or specialist environments with a clear requirement for temperatures well below standard commercial freezing. It is not the right choice for general catering cold storage, where a conventional chest or upright freezer would be more appropriate and considerably more economical to run. If your volume or temperature requirements sit outside what this unit covers, alternatives are available.

If you are working through whether ultra-low temperature storage is the right specification for your setting, or have questions about placement, monitoring, or backup requirements, we are happy to talk it through before you make a decision.

The Vestfrost SZ248-STS is a chest freezer designed for commercial frozen storage where reliable temperature holding and accessible bulk capacity are priorities. The stainless steel lid construction makes it a practical fit for environments where hygiene and surface durability matter, and the chest format naturally suits operators storing items in quantity — ice cream, frozen portion packs, bread products, and similar bulk goods that benefit from a deep, open storage area.

Chest freezers of this type are commonly found in cafés, takeaways, food-to-go operations, and smaller catering kitchens where counter space is limited but floor space allows for a low-profile chest unit. The design tolerates frequent lid openings reasonably well, which is important in busy service environments where staff need quick access throughout the day. Operating at 40dB, it runs quietly enough to sit in customer-facing or mixed-use spaces without becoming a nuisance.

From a practical standpoint, this format offers several genuine operational advantages:

• Deep capacity supports bulk purchasing and portion pre-preparation
• Stackable internal baskets help keep products organised and accessible
• Chest format retains cold air effectively when the lid is opened
• Stainless top surface is easy to wipe down and tolerates workplace use
• Low running noise at 40dB suits front-of-house or mixed environments

Installation is straightforward — this is a freestanding unit requiring only a standard power supply and adequate ventilation clearance around the casing. It should be positioned away from heat sources such as ovens or direct sunlight, which would place unnecessary load on the refrigeration system. For sites with heavy frozen storage demands or where multiple staff need simultaneous access, an upright cabinet or larger chest unit may be worth considering.

This model suits smaller catering operations, ice cream parlours, cafés, and food businesses needing dependable bulk frozen storage without the footprint or cost of a larger upright freezer. If you are unsure whether this capacity is right for your throughput, or whether a chest or upright configuration better suits your workflow, we are happy to talk it through before you commit.

The Vestfrost SB 300 is a 296-litre chest freezer designed for reliable bulk frozen storage in commercial and catering environments. It runs from a standard 13-amp supply, requires no specialist installation, and is built around the kind of straightforward, dependable performance that smaller operations depend on day to day.

Chest freezers of this type are a practical choice wherever the priority is holding significant volumes of frozen produce — portioned proteins, bakery goods, ice cream, or bulk ingredients — rather than rapid individual item retrieval. Because cold air is denser than warm air and settles at the base, a chest freezer retains its temperature well when the lid is opened, which helps maintain food safety standards during busy service periods and reduces the energy cost of frequent access compared with upright reach-in cabinets.

For day-to-day operation, the practical advantages are clear:

• Counter-balanced lid reduces physical strain during regular access
• Lockable handle supports stock security and basic due diligence
• Skin condenser design reduces dust accumulation and simplifies maintenance
• Standard 13-amp plug means no dedicated electrical supply or specialist electrical work
• R600a refrigerant aligns with current environmental standards

Installation is uncomplicated. There are no gas, water, or ventilation connections to consider. The unit can be positioned in a back-of-house area, cellar, outbuilding, or preparation room wherever a standard socket is available. Operators should allow adequate air clearance around the cabinet and avoid siting it in areas exposed to excessive heat or direct sunlight, both of which will affect running efficiency.

This freezer is well suited to smaller catering operations, pub kitchens, cafés, event catering businesses, and hospitality sites needing overflow or secondary frozen storage. It is less suited to environments where high-frequency individual item access is required or where only upright storage is practical. Sites with significantly higher volume demands may find a larger-capacity unit or a multi-unit configuration more appropriate.

If you are weighing up whether this capacity fits your storage requirements or available space, we are glad to talk it through before you place an order.
